This two-story home is entirely private, with its own front and back door. Your side of the front porch is outfitted with rocking chairs, an important part of the laid back Cape Charles lifestyle, and your side of the back deck is outfitted with a gas grill.brbrDownstairs:brThe first floor of The Salt Box has original hardwood floors and an open layout with the dining room in the front of the house, the den/tv room in the middle and the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room in the back. The den can be closed off from the dining room and upstairs, which is great if part of your group goes to bed and others want to hang out downstairs. The smart TV streams Netflix, Hulu Live, Amazon Prime and more. The kitchen is outfitted with stainless appliances and is fully stocked with utensils, pots/pans, dishes and glasses. You'll also find a bar area complete with stemware, highball glasses, wine opener, etc.brbr**PLEASE NOTE** brThe first floor bathroom shower is located in the separate laundry room right next to it (we assume prior owners wanted to come in the back and shower without tracking sand through the house). The laundry room door has a privacy latch.brbrUpstairs:brThe upstairs primary bedroom on the front of the house features an upholstered California king bed with a plush 14 memory foam mattress, a middle bedroom with a queen bed and a smaller back bedroom with two single beds. All bedrooms have blackout curtains to ensure that you and your little ones get a great night's sleep. The upstairs bathroom has been recently renovated with shiplap and marble tile floor and shower. Cape Charles is very quiet at night so you're sure to wake up feeling refreshed.brbrThe house has two separate HVAC zones, one downstairs and one upstairs.brbrYour Duplex Neighbors - Us!brWe live right next door in the other side of the duplex, so we're very responsive if you need anything. We respect your privacy, so you're unlikely to see much of us unless you've contacted us. We have a sweet hound dog named Hali who loves to fulfill her guard dog duties by barking at the mailman but otherwise she's typically quiet.brbrGuests have access to the entire private rental, plus their side of the front porch, back deck and back yard.brbrWe're available immediately via text - just let us know how we can help! The white sand beach (cleaned and graded daily) is the perfect place for children to play, swim, shelling, and search for sea glass. This 1920 house has was remodeled in 2004 and again with upgrades in 2013 and 2017 after we purchased it. It is one of the largest dwelling rental properties in town sitting on 3 1/2 lots that are fenced in for relaxing while the kids are at play. The house is 4 levels. A refinished game room is in the partial finished basement with 2 smart tvs and 2 gaming systems.The house has refinished hardwood floors throughout. The first floor boasts a huge Master bedroom suite with an oversized tub and walk in shower, with a private balcony. All new appliances throughout the kitchen and laundry room, a walk in pantry, dining area that seats 12, a large living area, along with a screened in porch for night time cocktails & fellowship. Walk up to the second floor (in one of the 2 staircases that the kids LOVE!) to find a fully remodeled bathroom, a children's themed double bunk bed room, and 3 queen bedrooms. One more floor up is a finished attic with a Full bed and twin bed and in 2021 has a full bath, giving the home full baths. There is a 1/2 bath off the kitchen, a and an outdoor shower with both hot/cold water, with an additional cottage to store bikes, beach chairs and such. The property offers backyard ally parking as well as street parking, and has 2 hot water heater sources as well as 2 zoned Central Air Units. We have made every effort to duplicate the fantastic feedback from our first property to truly make it a 'home away from home'.

One bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the others share a hall bath with a tub/shower. Kitchen is fully equipped, fenced yard, outdoor shower, fire pit, grill & shed with beach gear.brbrOur home is designed as family getaway so you can pack light! Parents will appreciate convenient amenities like a high chair, full sized crib, kids books, games and toys. But our house isn't just for kids. Adults can enjoy our 2 stand up paddle boards, beach chairs, plus a grill, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs in our big, shady backyard. Rinse off in the outdoor shower after a day at the beach! We also provide two beach cruisers for your use as well as a kid's bike.brbrAlthough our house has a cozy cottage feel, many people have commented on how spacious it feels, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. In terms of the bedroom setup, there is a bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed (note you will need to go upstairs for the shower/bath). On the second floor, you'll find our family suite a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a connected bonus room with a daybed that can fold into 2 side by side twins (ideal for kids)! Also, on the second floor are two additional bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a king. There is another bathroom on the second floor with a tub/shower combo.
