Our family of 5 stays comfortably!brbrWe've put a lot of thought and care into making our space comfortable and inviting for our guests. The first floor has an open living room-dining room floor plan. The living area has a large flat screen TV on a swivel mount so that it can be adjusted towards the living or dining areas for the best viewing experience. We have a completely remodeled kitchen with beautiful quartz countertops, LVP flooring, plenty of cabinet and pantry space, as well as stainless steel appliances. There is a half bath located next to the dining area and a laundry closet next to the staircase. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms (one king, one queen) with a Jack and Jill bathroom. Each bedroom has a wall-mounted smart TV, dresser, and memory foam mattress. Need to get some work done during your stay Under our king bed, you will find a collapsible desk that easily folds and unfolds in one minute. The home is also equipped with high-speed wi-fi. Our heating and cooling systems were upgraded in March 2022 with mini splits. Step into our refreshed backyard with a paved patio, complete with a table and seating for dining al fresco when you choose to eat at home. The shed even has a fold down TV for when you can't miss an important game, but want to enjoy being outside. In the shed you'll also find our favorite Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs and sand toys for the kids!brbrParking is on the street. If you are pulling a boat, it is best not to park your boat trailer on the street. Here is our completely honest disclaimer so you know exactly what you are getting! br• The full bathroom upstairs is attached to the bedroom at the top of the back staircase. When multiple families stay, guests in the front bedroom will likely go downstairs and use the half bath at night. We hope to turn the tiny bedroom in the front of the home into a bathroom in the future. br• The only shower and tub inside are in the upstairs full bath. In the summer, this does not seem to be a big deal as most guests take advantage of the outdoor shower. However, in the colder months, please be aware of this if multiple families are staying in the home.br• The kitchen is also on the list to be remodeled – it works fine right now but does not have a dishwasher.br• It’s also a historic home – being at the beach the floors sometimes get a little dusty and are a little squeaky. Occasionally, there will be bugs inside – again – it’s an older house at the beach and please expect some of these things as part of the charm!br• We also had one person complain that we do not have china – we thought at first they meant Chinese food in town – however they meant fine china. Mostly including this in our disclaimer because we thought it was funny, however please know that we have cool kitchen dishes, but they are not … china.br• Finally – know that our cleaning fee is less than what our cleaner actually charges. Please be aware of this if you book – especially in the off season when you have the chance to book for killer rates as we like to allow as many people as possible to get to enjoy one of our favorite places! We have the best cleaner on the Shore working with us, however it is hard to find reliable people in this somewhat remote location. The peace and quiet, the beauty of the Bay, the warm sand of the beach, the friendly people and eclectic shops and restaurants... the town captured our hearts immediately. Our family (mom, dad, five kids, and a Bernese mountain dog named Yankee) has built a million cherished memories here, and we hope that you will too!brbrCape Cottage is a clean, comfortable, charming Victorian... a perfect spot for your Cape Charles beach vacation! The peaceful downtown location leaves you just a short walk from shopping, restaurants, and (most importantly, as far as we are concerned) the beach. brbrThe home has three bedrooms and two full baths. The living room has a comfortable sectional couch and a great TV for watching movies or sports. We love our dog and wouldn't want to vacation without her; we assume that if you have a dog, you want to bring him or her too! brbrThe house has everything that you need to have a marvelous vacation -- the kitchen is spacious and stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, and appliances that you have at home (coffee pot, Keurig, Nespresso -- did we mention that we are coffee people ). The house features cable TV (there are flat screen TVs in the living room and in two of the bedrooms), WiFi, central heat and AC, and on-demand hot water (so your whole crew can clean up without draining the tank!). New mattresses throughout the house will ensure a good night's sleep. The cleaning fee covers all linens and towels, so you won't have to bring those with you.brbrOutside, there is a wrap-around front porch with a porch swing and lounge chairs.
