Home on two levels. Level one has the great room, fully equipped kitchen with an island, dining area and a king bedroom suite. There is a deck off of the dining area that has a nice outdoor table and chairs and gas grill. The lower level has a rec room with full size pool table, air hockey, futon, and wet bar. On this level is another king suite and third bedroom with bunk beds. All baths are tiled. The bunk beds are very nice with comfortable regular size mattress below and above. There is a large deck on this level with a covered area, hot tub and porch swing. All of the bedrooms in the house, the great room and the rec room have walls of windows for a great view of the mountains. The square footage is 2146. brGet to the National Park without going through Gatlinburg!brOur place is perfect for one to three couples, or one or two couples with children. LaConte, the aerial tram, downtown Gatlinburg, a game room with FREE REAL arcade games that will for sure entertain adults and children for hours,located near one of the three Chalet Village community heated pools (open mid-May to mid Sept.),and 1/2 mile from the entrance to Ober Gatlinburg ski area. All of this for a great value!! PLUS, we have PARKING!! We have a parking area that can fit 4-5 cars across and everyone can get out or park a motorcycle trailer!! brbrOur Chalet is a large A-frame design. It has three levels with a bath on each level. The first level has 2 bedrooms (1Q, 1F), a full bath and a laundry facility (washer and dryer). The main level has 2 bedrooms (2Q's), a full bath, the living/dining room,gas fireplace with sunken living room, kitchen, and decks which surround 2 sides of our home, and the hot tub. The 3rd level has a bedroom (1K ), plus a bed (1F ) on the loft, a bath. The game room is its own room off this level and has couches. Our cabin is close to all the area attractions(Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee, National Park entrance and more). It sits on top of Ski Mountain in the Chalet Village neighborhood and our street ends with the boundary to the National Forrest which allows for an occasional visit from wildlife, i.e. 'L'il Smokey', a black bear, that likes to visit our home from time to time in search of their next meal. Even though, we are on top of the mountain, we are still only 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and 15 minutes to Pigeon Forge.brbrWe have WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE, FREE LONG DISTANCE PHONE SERVICE for US & Canada, and digital cable. We have stereo systems, DVD and VHS players and a movie library for your viewing pleasure. We offer a complete kitchen and dishes with a set up for 15.brbrOur home has something for everyone...entertainment, close to all area attractions, views, the house is located a lot away from your neighbors on all sides, and fun. The same view sparkles after dark with the lights from hundreds of shops, restaurants, and fun places to play. My pictures from our balcony are all taken roughly from the same angle at different times of day, and all seasons of the year. brbrOur quiet and peaceful condo is on a mountaintop, which is not in town, but near town. Cozy and comfortable, we welcome visitors from all walks of life and backgrounds. Minutes from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the wilderness, there are no limits of places to go and things to see.brbrMany of our guests comment on how nice it is to have a quiet place to relax after the bustling activities in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, or a beautiful hike on one of the myriad trails in the Smokies. Theme parks, horseback riding, swimming, biking, water sports, shopping, skiing, and zip-lining are great fun, all of which let you appreciate a good night's sleep! We offer three beds - one queen and two twin/singles. A fifth person could sleep on the sofa if they're not a giant, and there’s also a twin-size inflatable air mattress with an electric pump. Plenty of extra quilts, blankets, and throws are provided. I personally like to wrap up in a quilt when sitting on the balcony.brbrWhile the kitchen is compact, it is efficient and equipped well enough for the finest cook to serve a gourmet meal. In addition to the ordinary necessities, we have two coffee makers - a full-sized pot and a single-serve Keurig, an electric hand-mixer, a slow-cooker, blender, toaster, & microwave, and plenty of dishes, glasses, & silverware. There are wire whisks, corkscrews, can openers, measuring utensils, muffin pans, mixing bowls, cutting boards, and sharp knives. The refrigerator has an icemaker. The stove and dishwasher are apartment-sized due to limited space. We also have a set of child-size dishes and silverware for smaller hands. They are dishwasher and microwave safe, so use them with abandon. brbrA 50 Smart TV with cable is in the living room, and each bedroom has a 40 Smart TV. All three televisions have Blue-ray DVD players, Netflix, and Prime Video. If nothing playing on TV suits you, there's a collection of over 300 DVDs plus about 100 books. We have our own private WiFi server, which is far superior to most other units.brbrThere are 2 hot tubs and a year-round indoor pool as well as a seasonal outdoor pool. We have several pool noodles in the condo, but please bring your own beach towels. Coin-operated laundry facilities are on-site, and firewood is provided for a small fee during the cooler months. The huge free parking lot surrounds the main office building, which includes the indoor pools and laundry facilities.brbrAlthough our second-floor balcony is small, we've added a bar-height bistro set with cushioned swivel chairs. This added height above the treetops gives an unobstructed view of the mountains and valley below. You can see all the way to Pigeon Forge and beyond. Each season offers a different view, one more breathtaking than the next. There are mountains as far as the eye can see.brbrThe entire condominium is open for your pleasure. I hope you'll enjoy taking advantage of our games, books, and DVDs in your downtime. We furnish all bed linens and towels, as well as paper goods, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap. There's also dishwashing liquid and dishwasher pods in the kitchen. Additionally, you will find an iron and ironing board, 2 hairdryers, and two hand mirrors.brbrOur unit is on the second floor, and accessible by stairs only.brbrDue to the impact of the buildings settling over the years, the sliding door and adjacent window are askew. The window is so far off square that it won't open, so please don't attempt it. Although the sliding door closes all the way, it’s sometimes difficult to lock, so we have provided a wooden wedge to prevent outside entry. Our balcony is fairly high up, therefore it's highly doubtful that it could be accessed anyway, but the wedge gives a better sense of security. Relax and enjoy the serenity of the hot tub from the full walk around deck, throw some steaks and veggies on the charcoal grill or curl up and watch your favorite TV shows in front of the gas fireplace ~ the choice is yours! An extremely rare find, right in the heart of Gatlinburg, this custom built lodge was designed by Hubert Bebb. Architect Hubert Bebb was a former student of the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Mr. Bebb is best known for his architectural design of Clingmans Dome where President Franklin D. Roosevelt held the dedication of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The lodge was custom built for a family of Gatlinburg's early entrepreneurs. The location of the lodge is due to the family-owned hotel (GateWay to the Smokies) located directly on the strip in Gatlinburg before entering into the National Park. Afterwards, the lodge became Gatlinburg's finest B&B and is now open for nightly rental. brbrThe location is perfect for walking directly to the main strip (.03) or simply having your own access to the National Park within walking distance (.05). No need to worry about finding a parking space and no need to worry about traffic. It's unbelievable to have access to both of these locations within less than half a mile. This location is also conveniently accessible to Pigeon Forge via the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.brbrAlthough having the convenience of the location is important, the lodge itself offers numerous amenities. It is handicap accessible. The lodge is all on one level with large hallways and oversized bedrooms making it enjoyable for everyone. Another rare amenity, the lodge sits on a wide level piece of property and a privacy fence throughout its entirety. It offers plenty of flat, paved parking. No need to worry about the elements of the weather outdoors because it also includes an attached carport leading directly into the lodge. brbrOne great amenity the lodge has to offer is the stunning mountain views while still located right in town! This master bedroom has direct mountain views while lying in the bed. brbrThe master bedrooms (No.#1 & No.#2) are located directly behind the living space of the home. Master No#1 has a king size bed, a gray chair that folds out to a twin size bed, an electric fireplace, a large private bathroom with a granite double sink vanity, with a shower and a tub. It has a private patio located on the side of the house. Master No#2 has a large wooded mural on the main wall, king size bed, a cream linen couch that folds out into a bed, private bathroom with a walk-in shower and double sliding doors to a patio with stunning mountain views. Both master bedrooms have their own heating and cooling system for personal room temperature setting. brbrThe next two master bedrooms (No# 3 & No# 4) are located down the corridor. Master bedroom No# 3 has two queen beds, a sitting area, tv, private bathroom with a walk-in shower and double sliding doors to the patio with beautiful mountain views. The No# 4 masterbed is located at the end of the hallway. It has a mural on the main wall with a silhouette of trees, king size bed, tv, sitting area, private bathroom with walk-in shower and double sliding doors to the patio looking at the center of all the outside living area. Both master bedrooms have their own heating and cooling system for personal room temperature settings. brbrThe King Bear Downtown Lodge offers free access to three clubhouses! They are all conveniently located within three miles radius from the lodge. Each clubhouse is uniquely different. All of the clubhouses have oversized swimming pools (some have two or three pools at one location), tennis courts, pickleball, basketball, workout facility, gameroom, and children's playground. All guests must have the club pass upon entering. brbrWeddings-brThe King Bear Downtown Lodge has been a wedding destination for years. The stunning mountain views, easily accessible location and numerous amenities makes it a perfect wedding venue.brbrThe wedding ceremony venue is located behind the lodge in the large outdoor space with beautiful mountains views. The reception venue is located at the south clubhouse just 3 miles away. The club house includes 12 round tables, 4 six-foot tables, 2 eight-foot tables and 45 chairs. Also included are black linens for all tables, 45 gold chargers, 45 gold napkin rings, 45 white dinner plates, 45 water goblets and 4 chafing dishes. My family was staying at the condo and we had gone to eat. When we came back, I immediately noticed that the driver's door of my car (which had been left at the condo) was wide open. I wasn't sure what was going on. Had someone been prowling through my car Was there a car thief presently sitting in it Or, was there a bear in it, as my brother-in-law had joked I took a deep breath as I approached. (I had already made my mind up that if there was a car thief in it, that I would just walk on and pretend that it wasn't my car until I went inside and called police.) There was another car parked beside mine and just as I got between the two cars, I see a BEAR in my car eating cocoa powder! He saw me and got out of my car! I'm about 3 feet away! So, what do I do I freeze of course! I'm in shock! The bear goes around to the front of the other car and then comes back toward me. I'm not sure what I said, but my brother-in-law is further down the sidewalk and is taking pictures. (The picture of the bear on the sidewalk is the one my brother-in-law took after he exited my car.) He tells me to get in the car. My response No, he knows how to open the door! So, I slowly back away and go down the sidewalk further. The bear walks around a little and then goes down the steps to the condos below. We got a few pictures. So, if you're wondering if he destroyed my car, the answer is no. He didn't claw anything. He had found the cocoa powder, the only food in my car, and had put it on the console. Surprisingly, he didn't make too much of a mess, but I never did find the lid.
