Beautiful Craftsman-style home in the hills, near the U of O!

Eugene, Oregon, United States

This beautiful Craftsman-style, four-bedroom, three-bath home is only minutes from the UO and Hayward Field, yet is tucked away in a quiet, tree-filled neighborhood, a three-minute walk from Laurelwood Golf Course. The house, built in 2007, combines a classic Craftsman exterior style with a modern interior and modern amenities, including a state-of-the-art heating and cooling system.brbrLayout: The kitchen, dining room, and living room form a great room that is an inviting space to be together, while the four roomy bedrooms and three bathrooms offer privacy. One bedroom and one bath are downstairs; three bedrooms and two baths are upstairs.brbrKitchen: The kitchen has a lovely hickory floor and features a walk-in pantry, granite countertops, and stainless appliances, including a five-burner Dacor gas cooktop, microwave, and convection oven. There is a maple butcher-block kitchen island with two bar stools for informal eating and chatting with the cooks. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, silverware, cookware, utensils, condiments, and spices.brbrLiving and Dining: The hickory floor continues into the dining room, while the living portion of the great room is carpeted. There is a cozy gas fireplace, as well as a large flat-screen TV. Just off the dining room, there is a wooden deck with a dining set and a natural gas grill. brbrBaths: The downstairs bathroom has a granite countertop, as does one of the upstairs bathrooms. The en suite primary bathroom (upstairs) has twin sinks, a travertine tile floor, a custom tile shower, and a soaking tub.  brbrBeds: Each bedroom has a queen-size bed. The mattresses are high-end models and are very comfortable.brbrInternet and TV: There is fiber-optic internet service with a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout the house. The living room has YouTube TV. The bedrooms have small TVs with Roku streaming service so you can access YouTube TV or your own streaming services.brbrAccessibility: From the back entrance of the house, there are three steps leading to the first floor. Once in the house, guests sleeping in the first-floor bedroom have access to the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and deck without having to use any stairs. brbrAllergy-friendliness: Eco-friendly soaps, detergents, and cleaning products are used in the house; most are unscented. Sheets and towels are 100% cotton. Pets are not allowed.brbrRecreation: Opportunities abound, including some within walking distance. In addition to nearby Laurelwood Golf Course, a hiking trailhead at the end of the street connects to a .7-mile path to Hendricks Park, with its famed rhododendron garden and 3 miles of forested trails. brbrCharger: You can charge your electric car while at the house with a regular wall outlet or a level 2 EVSE. brbrAlso note:br1. We do not book back-to-back rentals. The house will remain vacant for at least 29 hours between guests so that it can be ventilated and thoroughly disinfected.br2. The photos on this site were taken with a cell phone camera--no wide-angle lenses, no selective framing, no digital editing that creates a misleading image. We are pleased by guests' comments that the property is even better in person than in the photos.

An open floor plan extends the ambiance from the living room into the dining room. The dining room has an antique sofa and period chandelier for the optimal dining room setting. brbrThere are two bedrooms with a walk through bathroom. The space is warm, ideal for two people and comfortable with four. The master bedroom has a queen size comfortable pillowtop mattress with luxury linens, down comforter and bathrobes. Enjoy your gourmet meal on the front porch, a beautiful setting with a dining area framed by beautiful trees and flowers. The 'dining room' on the front porch provides the perfect spot for morning or evening dining. brbrCreating beautiful interior and exterior spaces is a passion of mine, and the gardens that surround this home delight the senses. Garden beds are planted with fruits, vegetables and herbs, and guests are encouraged to harvest from the garden.brbrThe house is set back from an eclectic urban neighborhood and the space can be surprisingly quiet for being in the middle of this active area of Eugene. At times, you may hear music and or neighborhood festivities. When you are ready to explore the historic Whiteaker neighborhood, there are many appealing options for dining, sampling craft beers and wines or hearing music within walking distance.brbrA separate rental cottage is located behind the house, and both the house and cottage are private, noise-free spaces. Together, the house and cottage are comfortable for up to 7 people, and both are available as vacation rentals, if you are looking to host your family or friends for a special event or holiday.brbrNamed for Oregon's first Governor, the historic Whiteaker is considered Eugene's most eclectic neighborhood.
