CastAway Cabin is along the elegant/rustic flavor. Just minutes away from Cataloochee snow skiing as well as hiking and fishing. The lawn just in front of the cabin gently slopes to the river just steps from the front porch.brCastAway Cabin is located 1 mile from I-40 exit 24 and 25 minutes from downtown Asheville. Take a mere 10 minute drive and enjoy all that downtown Waynesville or Maggie Valley has to offer from fine dining to some of the best breweries in the area. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs all along this area and the cabin is just minutes away from several of its entrances. brCastAway Cabin is constructed from mostly reclaimed materials. After a lifetime of tearing down old barns and cabins it was time to put some of the reclaimed wood to good use. The oak logs were all reclaimed from standing dead timber right here on the property. The ceilings throughout the cabin are made from reclaimed beetle kill ash trees harvested just across the river. The flooring is made from 100+ year old reclaimed heart pine. All of the trim work in the cabin is reclaimed barn wood salvaged from local barns that we have dismantled through the years.brFishing in this area is a big attraction so bring your fishing poles and get lost in the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains. Take a short stroll down the front lawn and be fishing within minutes of your arrival or set up a guided float trip or fly fishing excursion with some of our highly recommended local guides.brThe cabin offers one bedroom with a king size bed and pillow top mattress. Expansive decking features a hot tub as well as plenty of outdoor area for dining and relaxing. Sit by the gas fireplace in the living room and take in the majestic views from Utah Mountain. This home has three bedrooms. Large Master bedroom with a king bed and it own bath. A second bedroom with a queen bed and a third bedroom with a queen on the bottom bunk and twin on the top. Dine in the more formal area or take in the breathtaking views from the cozy breakfast nook. This home features a large kitchen with double ovens. Great for large family get togethers and cooking. Sit by the fire pit outside and take in the mountain air. Dog friendly with a max of 2 dogs (pet fees apply).
