With the Nantahala National Forest literally as our back yard, this little log cabin is the perfect secluded nature getaway! After getting one of the best night’s sleep you've ever had in our pillow top bed, you'll have the energy to go Hiking, Fly Fishing and White Water Rafting on the Nantahala River, or Water Skiing on the glassy waters of the Nantahala Lake. Hikers will love the easy access to the Appalachian and Bartram Trails as well as discovering a secret Swimming Hole and Cliff Diving oasis. Other local activities also include mountain biking, kayaking, hunting, golfing, swimming, sight-seeing, and more. Our guests are also welcome to use our kayaks and canoe to explore Nantahala Lake! And when it rains, we've got some DVD’s and games at the cabin to enjoy. brbrThe cabin is stocked with everything you'd have at your own kitchen, including a coffee pot, basic spices, and a propane grill on the deck (propane provided). While you're welcome to scour the woods around the cabin for firewood to enjoy at the brick firepit - you're not going on vacation to become a lumberjack - so we recommend you pick up a bundle of dry wood at the Ingles Grocery store in Andrews on your way to the cabin.br brOur amazing guests continually tell us how peaceful and therapeutic it is to stay at our cabin. They mention having great plans to visit touristic attractions and outdoor adventures - but are so lured by the peace and beauty of the surroundings of the cabin and the hot tub that they end up spending most the day kicked back on the deck enjoying the view or sitting around the fire pit fascinated by the stars that illuminate the night sky. brbrNOTE: While mountain roads are sometimes steep and curvy they are well maintained paved roads and completely accessible all the way to our driveway. From there, we have gone to great lengths to make the cabin as accessible as possible, but our GRAVEL driveway is EXTREMELY steep. Therefore, we REQUIRE all guests to either have 4WD or AWD vehicles in order to drive up the driveway! If you don’t have such a vehicle, not to worry, you will enjoy the adventure of parking at the bottom and hiking up. This is a typical request for mountain cabins and not an unreasonable expectation, unless you're unwilling to hike our 800 ft. driveway. Less than one mile to boat launch, only a few miles to Nantahala Outdoor Center, white water rafting, trout fishing, and hiking on the Appalachian Trail. Large nearly flat semicircular drive to accommodate both with trailers. I am able to navigate my 21 foot ski boat in and out of the drive without any difficulty.brbrLarge wrap around porch with outdoor fireplace. Full Kitchen, washer and dryer. Master bath with large shower. Second full bathroom has a tub. We have Starlink Internet and use YouTube TV. Phones work well over the Internet.

And, we're happy to rent it to you.brbrThis vacation get-away is located on Lake Nantahala with direct access to a private dock and absolutely beautiful views of the lake and mountains. The lake can be enjoyed for swimming, fishing and boating. Many other outdoor activities are within arm's reach of the property.brbrThe location of the house on the lake is something special, a place where you can retreat to get away from the grind of normal life. It is a true escape, nestled away in a stand of enormous poplar trees with a view of the large lake area in front of the distant dam. The hours melt away as you settle into a life of mountain informality, fantastic natural surroundings and wonderful fellowship with family and friends.brbrThe house was one of the first properties built on the lake, and has been maintained and updated with modern amenities. The two-level house is ideal for families and groups of friends. The upper (driveway) level has two bedrooms and one large sleeping area with a screened-off double bed, two single beds and a couch bed. The lower level features a family room with a wood burning fireplace, a large, well-equipped kitchen, and an outside patio facing the lake with a gas grill. It has all the character of a family mountain cabin, with added features like remodeled kitchen, washer/dryer, and a flat screen TV for viewing DVD/VCRs (we do not currently have broadcast TV due to poor sattelite signal).brbrThe public boat landing is nearby, within 5 minutes by car or a short 15 minute walk.
