This newly restored home has an exterior of old Stone craftsmanship blended with an interior of modern amenities. brSweet Water Cottage is a beautiful newly renovated home that has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. All new modern appliances, fully stocked coffee station, washer/dryer, double oven, dishwasher, icemaker/ filtered water fridge. Each bathroom has its own unique luxury. Relax in the beautiful 70 soaking tub after a long hike or unwind in the Jack and Jill bath that displays the beauty of the exposed natural stone, complete with a walk-in tile shower. Bedrooms include the master which has a king adjustable bed with a remote wall fan, the classic twin bedroom, and a kids room that has a bunk with a twin over full. The kid's room is stocked with books, games, and its own TV/DVD. The front porch is the place to be for morning coffee, reading, or soaking in the sounds of Middle Fork Creek. The house is set up on a corner lot in such a lovely way that allows each unit to have separate driveways and entrances on opposite sides of the house. A great quiet location on the NE edge of DuPont at the base of Rocky Ridge. You can jump directly onto the trails & there is easy access to Brevard, Pisgah, & H-ville. brbrThis modest house is well-kept and comfortable. It has 2 regular bedrooms and one small sleep room. The kitchen is nicely renovated and ready for cooking. There are 2 covered decks (the larger one is a main 'hang out' area!). The garage gives you a place to store or work on your bikes. We have a fire ring, a gas grill, & a wood-burning stove, all backed up by central HVAC along with a backup generator.brbrThe house sleeps 5 comfortably, with: brA master bedroom with a king-sized bed, bathroom, and a covered deck; a bedroom with 2 twin beds; one small bedroom with a twin bed. brbrThe small bedroom was a very large walk-in closet for the master bedroom which we converted to a comfortable sleep room. It is paneled in cedar & has recessed lights. A door to the hall gives easy access to the hall bathroom. The original louvered 'pocket door' between this small bedroom and the master bedroom provides some privacy. It's fine for adults. It is particularly good for families when younger children prefer to sleep close to their parents during a family trip. brbrThe living room and dining area blend with an open flow to the remodeled kitchen. The living room has a comfortable couch and a reading chair sitting in front of a wood-burning stove. The dining table has space for 6 and is also a good place to gather (a good spot for games).brbrThe updated kitchen is great, with plenty of counter & cabinet space and a gas stove. We have several well-seasoned cast iron skillets and good-quality stainless steel pots, a coffee bean grinder, a standard coffee machine, and a French press. The second room has two twin beds and 2 comfy chairs. Both sleeping areas have an Armoire, exterior windows with daylight shades, and privacy doors. The bathroom has a large double sink counter, shower/bath combination, hair dryer, and fully equipped with toiletries, plush towels and washcloths. There is a wall thermostat in the Retreat enabling the guests to control the air or heat. We also provide a heater, fan, extra pillows and blankets. Our Retreat is decorated with local art and a modest library. Guests have no steps from their car to the entrance or in the Retreat itself. There is a labyrinth of steps if you desire to take an optional stroll down to the babbling brook.brYou will have access your own back porch with table and chairs overlooking a wooded area and a serene mountain brook. Perfect for having a hot or cool drink and enjoying the abundant beauty of the natural surroundings. You'll also likely see your fair share of wildlife, including deer and neighborhood wild turkeys. The queen-size bed has a very comfortable memory foam mattress. The kitchen has new countertops and is fully equipped. You will have your own totally private patio area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the cardinals and hummingbirds in the rock garden. You will probably see our white squirrels and maybe some deer in the back yard. Enjoy a glass of wine by the firepit on the patio in the evening. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer and you will appreciate the extra half-bath. brbrThis non-smoking apartment is pet-free and fragrance-free for the benefit of those who have allergies. I operated a cleaning service and I personally give the apartment a thorough cleaning and disinfecting after each guest. The sheets, blankets and spreads are high quality and luxurious. Both bathrooms have ample towels for each guest that are thick and fluffy.
