Cabin in the Woods-Peaceful 1BR 20-Acre Rural Retreat-HotTub&WiFi near Asheville

Hendersonville, North Carolina, United States

INFORMATION FROM THE LOCAL HOST:brbrWelcome to the listing for our Cabin in the Woods! We’re glad you found us. We’ve been told it’s hard to find a specific listing again if you want to come back to it. To easily find us again, you can usually just enter our listing number in a search engine of your choice. The listing # is 3777314ha, make a note of it now! And if you need more information, such as when we have available dates, just send us a question and we will let you know. To do this use the “Contact Host” link below the Request to Book button. The Cabin on the Woods is owned and operated by me (Kaye), your host. Now, for the details about our Cabin in the Woods:brbrProperty Location: Our cabin property is East of historic Hendersonville and Southeast of Asheville amidst apple orchards and local wineries and vineyards. The 20-acre property is located at the foot of Bearwallow Mountain. The property is partially wooded with a private hiking trail through the woods, a pond, and a picnic shed next to the pond with a fire pit. Fishing is available in our pond.brbrLocated in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, our 20-acre property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees.brbrSPRING: Spring days are warmer (60-76) while nights remain chilly (36-53). Spring is great for hiking followed by a dip in the hot tub in the evening. Spring sometimes has a cold spell that drops temperatures near freezing for a night or two. We keep the fireplace pilot lit until the night time temperature consistently remains above 60 degrees, at which point the fireplace is turned off for the summer. brbrSUMMER: In summer months average temperatures are in the low to mid 80s with nights cooling down into the 60s. Perfect for an evening soak in the hot tub! Frequently summer days feature a brief cooling thunderstorm in the late afternoon. brbrFALL: In the Fall temperatures drop from highs averaging 78 in September to 59 in November. Lows average 57 in September and drop to 36 in November. It’s fireplace time! brbrWINTER: Weather is brisk to chilly in the winter, occasionally dipping below freezing, but snow is fairly rare. The cozy gas log fireplace and the hot tub on the covered porch will keep you warm! Highs hover around 50 with highly variable lows averaging a bit below freezing.brbrCabin Location: The Cabin in the Woods at Clear Creek Cabins is one of four cabins, situated and landscaped for privacy, scattered about our 20 acre property. It is one of our more secluded cabins, being located on the wooded portion of our 20 acre property. There are woods on all sides.. You may glimpse a small part of another cabin, but there are no other buildings within sight. In the winter when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the local mountains through the bare trees. There are woods behind the Cabin in the Woods for miles (not all ours!).brbrCabin Features: The covered porch features rocking chairs, a hot tub, and an outdoor dining table. The cabin has a gas log fireplace, air conditioning, smart TV with DVD player, wifi, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee-maker. Linens, dishes, and kitchen utensils are provided. The cabin has an outside propane BBQ grill. The cabin is well prepared for the rare power outage, with a gas log fireplace for heat and a gas stove for cooking. There is a fire pit near the pond. The hiking trail starts from (or ends at) the road to the Cabin in the Woods before you get to the Cabin. (Look for the sign.) It goes up in the woods and comes out next to the Cabin on the Hill where you can walk the roads back to your cabin.br brArea Activities: While many guests simply relax on the property for their entire stay, there is much to do in the area – hiking Chimney Rock Park, a boat tour of Lake Lure, a visit to Historic Hendersonville, dining at the many great area restaurants just a short drive away, visiting the many surrounding state and national parks and forests (Dupont, Pisgah, the Blue Ridge Parkway), and of course visiting the famous Biltmore Estate. Horseback riding is available in the area, as are visits to numerous wineries, and breweries, plus a cidery and meadery, many of which have live music and food trucks. Hiking locations are abundant. Spring and fall driving tours of our apple growing country side are available with many fruit stands to select from.brbrSeasons: The property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees.brbr Surveillance device notice: We are in the process of adding cameras to our properties. Cameras are near stairs to the cabin and cover the stairs and parking space. Cameras record video. Additional cameras on our property cover portions of the road to the cabins (Wyatt Lane). Interior and hot tub areas are NOT covered.brbrThe guest must sign a Vacation Rental Agreement, as required by NC law, within 24 hours of booking or the reservation will be canceled.brbr** Please Note: This entire description, including specifically the topic “About the Neighborhood”, is provided by your host. Cabin

The Round House at Indian Cove; Mountain Cabin on 8 acres w/ Tree House Views.

Hendersonville, North Carolina, United States

Welcome to The Round House at Indian Cove! The Round House offers the convenience of location paired with the experience of a secluded tree house-like mountain retreat. brbrThe 1,600 sq. ft. dodecagon frontier inspired cabin and the 8 acre wooded camp is yours to enjoy during your stay. The cabin includes all of the modern amenities you could ask for other than a dishwasher, but don't let that hold you back from that one-of-a-kind blue ridge experience! Plus, you can bring your dogs with you!brbrTHE CABINbrbrStep back in time to when the Cherokee roamed Appalachia. Upon arrival, you pull into a towering canopy of oak and maple trees and onto a winding driveway. Follow the To House sign over the wooden bridge and up to the cabin which is perched overlooking the property. At the top there is parking for two vehicles. brbrAlthough the dwelling is not built with the traditional river cane, plaster, and thatched roof, it will transport you decades into the past, and it's in that moment that you realize you've made the right decision to stay in some place special...brbrYou've traded in new and cookie-cutter resorts for a unique experience, perfect for a couple getaway or a group of friends. brbrThe upper level has two bedrooms, full bathroom, kitchen (with modern appliances), a cozy living room with wood-burning fireplace, and our favorite area of the cabin – the wraparound deck – which is equipped with Adirondack chairs and unspoiled views of the wooded wildlife sanctuary. You are encouraged to refill the bird feeder to catch glimpses of several birds species, our local family of blue jays and even white squirrels, stopping by for a snack in the morning and afternoon.brbrHead to lower level using the staircase located off the kitchen (use the rail!). At the foot of the stairs you're now in the Secret Place. Formerly Chief Ralph's workshop, the work bench has been converted into a laptop bar. The noise of hammers and axes is now replaced with silence making for the perfect spot to relax in the rocker with a good book. brbrAs you make your way further you'll find largest bedroom, The Sleepy Hollow Suite. It offers guests the largest bedroom on the property, featuring a queen-size bed, sitting area with a sleeper-sofa, and private half bath, along with access to the laundry room containing a full-sized washer and dryer. The primitive wood stove that once heated the area is now permanently retired for safety reasons. As you exit the double doors you'll be greeted by a porch swing, picnic area, and fresh mountain air. brbrThroughout the cabin, you will notice unique accents and stonework, all of which were designed and built by Chief Ralph. Stone steps, hand laid by him, lead you back up to rear entrance. brbrTHE GROUNDSbrbrThe Round House is located on the north side of Hebron Mountain. The Mountain is historically significant. Legends handed down tell of a cave high on the mountain with awe-inspiring views that was used by the Cherokee Indians to hold their religious rites and ceremonies. Later, early road builder, Solomon Jones (1802-1899), raised his family and created one of the first tourist attractions in the area -- an observation tower -- atop Mt. Hebron. He surrounded the tower with fruit trees and a vineyard to provide refreshment for his guests. One visitor to the Solomon’s pleasure aerie was George Vanderbilt who, from that vantage point, first beheld Mount Pisgah. Vanderbilt found the great mountain irresistible and purchased more than 100,000 acres along its wooded slopes and built the famed Biltmore. brbrDuring your stay at The Round House you (and dogs) can explore the mountain side via the two walking trails (keep a lookout for the red and yellow arrows). The Red Trail begins near the back of the cabin and ends near the bottom of the driveway near the garden. The Yellow Trail begins near the entry of the property. It takes you across a small footbridge and ends at the large granite rocks where Willow Creek enters the property. For safety reasons we ask that you wear jeans or other pants while exploring and please keep children away from the locked green maintenance shed and the root cellar which is no longer usable. brbrBefore the end of your stay, be sure to leave us a message in the Be Happy journal. We'd love to hear from you!brbr
