Very Remote with all the comforts of home. Even had wild turkeys come through the year when we were there. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Excellent communication as well! -Joe
My husband asked for a log cabin and I wanted beautiful and up to date. We both got what we wanted. The setting was beautiful and property well maintained. Teresa was very responsive. The drive into town was not long. Overall, a great trip.
Our family was looking for a mountain cabin with an indoor wood burning fireplace and outdoor fire pit to enjoy a long fall weekend of apple picking and enjoying the fall colors. This cabin was perfectly equipped, cozy and a real mountain getaway. Our family will love to stay head again and again.
Stayed for a friends wedding who was getting married elsewhere on Bearwallow mountain… so beautiful! The wind was wicked when we were there but I swear we watched the leaves change color before our eyes. The neighbor had dogs that barked quite a bit but it did not disturb our sleep. We saw many turkeys! This house was listed on another very common rental booking website for a lower price, but I was blocked from booking in that website. I don’t mind paying a fair price for a wonderful place and good hosts, but didn’t appreciate the bait and switch. I believe the problem was remedied. Would stay here again.
Cabin is beautifully made & well maintained with comfortable accommodations. Nice property with pleanty of stocked wood for fires, indoor or out. Hosts are friendly & helpful. Wifi is weak, but had cell service. Bearwallow Trail is close and a nice hike to pretty views & cows.
We loved our stay! Everything is within a 20-30 min drive which allows you to truly disconnect, if needed. The cabin was cozy and we enjoyed unobstructed views of the stars, Starlink satellites, and a nice campfire in the company of some turkeys. Overall, and awesome property with a lot to offer!
Remote, beautiful views and place. ~25 min drive to Asheville, Hendersonville, Brevard, and plenty of destinations.
Teresa and Bruce are attentive and gracious hosts, anticipating every need, including a quick start for the fireplace/smoke pit which they were kind enough to leave on our doorstep one evening! They also brought a minor issue to our attention that was resolved promptly and seamlessly and was greatly appreciated. Communication with Teresa was excellent throughout the entire process, including pre-booking and post check-out, and we also had an opportunity to meet her which was a bonus. Teresa’s attention to detail is uncanny; the accommodations are luxurious and the decor is exquisite. Bearwallow Cabin is elegantly appointed, ultra comfortable and impeccably clean. It exudes warmth and tranquility throughout. The sprawling landscape, view of the mountains and endless sunsets were the perfect end to every evening. The only issue I had was getting my husband to leave the cabin to go sightseeing! When we did manage to get out, we visited Downtown Ashville before going to the Biltmore Estates for Candlelight Christmas which was an amazing experience. We also dined at Postero, Umi and Arabella in Downtown Hendersonville and highly recommend all. The Pinball Museum in Downtown Hendersonville was a hit with hubby and kids too! The memories we made will last a lifetime. We’re already planning our next visit. Can’t wait to return to Bearwallow Cabin! Thanks Teresa and Bruce for sharing your little piece of Heaven in Hendersonville with us. :-)
Great retreat for a few days to visit Asheville sites and do some hiking. Loved the fireplace and furnishings.
Lovely setting, beautiful home with lovely surroundings. Quiet and loved the gorgeous stone wood-burning fireplace. Very cozy home & we especially enjoyed the big porches. Highly recommend!
We all felt immediately at home, so welcoming and cozy, yet very spacious. The beds were very comfortable to all of us. It seems that Teresa and Bruce thought of everything to make their guests feel at home. We had quite a bit of rain and stayed in most of the time, but a warm, wood fire in the fireplace and coffee and cocoa made it special and memorable. We will most definitely go back!
This was our second visit to the heavenly Bearwallow Den. It was even more magical than our first visit last year. And, we will come again and again. We just can't say enough about the beauty of the property and the warm, elegant and perfectly outfitted home. First class accommodations in an idyllic setting. Bruce and Teresa are the most amazing hosts.
Bearwallow Den is just as it is described. The cabin is cozy and had all the comforts of home-warm bedding, firewood for fires at night (inside or outside). It is conveniently located to various trails for hiking and 30 min to Asheville to see the sights or enjoy downtown scene. We had everything we needed and spent our anniversary weekend here and highly recommend this cabin. The hosts Teresa and Bruce were very responsive and kind. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend seeing the beautiful fall colors of the Blue Ridge mountains! Thank you Teresa—we will come back!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is a great house with lots of room, great big porch, nicely furnished, well-stocked, and had all the amenities we needed. It is a bit remote from shopping etc, but nice and quiet and private. We saw deer, bears, and wild turkeys. We would recommend it highly. Thank you Teresa!! John and Gail Oct. 13-19, 2022
The cabin was amazing, had a great experience just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet from the back porch. Teresa was a pleasure to talk to and made sure we had everything we needed.
What a fantastic place to come and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So peaceful. So quiet. Just what we needed. Everything was clean and check in couldn't have been easier. The hosts were quick to respond when we asked about the WiFi hotspot. We are already planning another trip!
If you are looking for a peaceful stay in a tucked away cabin, this is your place! Beautiful scenery with public hiking trails in walking distance. The cabin is spotless and well take care of. Potterybarn sheets and new mattresses are throughout. The kitchen is equipped with new appliances and utensils. We can't recommend this place enough! We will be back
