Entire property line is waterfront so children must be tended to at all times.There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the property including outside. It is private with your own entry. There is a large bedroom with enough closet space, a queen size bed, blow up mattress (also queen size) and a mini crib for those who travel with little ones. Living room is spacious and equipped with a large TV, an electric fireplace, and all around comfort! Bathroom does have a sensitive sani-flo system, and it can sometimes be a bit loud but functions very well. Bathroom is well equipped with amenities and a modern, touch button mirror and plenty of storage. Kitchen is equipped with full size appliances and a dishwasher for convenience of less to think of while on vacation! brbrWithout saying too much, we invite you to book with you and enjoy all the hard work we have put into the unit, all the while assuring you have everything you need for your comfortable stay. The house is fully furnished. We are conveniently located 2 miles from Ithaca, N.Y. in a nice private, relaxing setting. We are located on the west shore of Cayuga Lake on Taughannock Blvd. just 3.5 miles from the Ithaca Commons and 5 miles from Cornell Campus and Ithaca College. brbrThis house has a large deck featuring a hot tub overlooking Cayuga Lake. The hot tub accommodates 3-4 people very comfortably. There is a patio table that seats six and lounge chairs for relaxing outside. This house has 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with a Jenn Air stove, 2 full bathrooms, central air conditioning, and a spiral staircase.brbrThe master bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed, and there is a queen sized pull-out couch in the living room. There are large closets in the bedrooms with hangers for your clothes as well as large dressers. You can hear the water lapping on the lake shore from the bedrooms. The master bedroom has beautiful lake views. The living room has a comfy chair with ottoman, couch, and recliner. There are bookcases with books for your use and a DVD library and board and card games for your enjoyment. The dining table is located in front of the large windows facing the lake. There is a built in oak desk. The kitchen features a high ceiling, large counter tops for cooking, microwave, toaster oven, 4 slice toaster, drip coffee maker, A Keurig single cup Coffee machine, electric hot water kettle, blender, cook and bakeware, dishwasher, ice trays, spices, and other staples. There is a mudroom for hanging up jackets and taking off wet shoes. The bathroom on the main floor off the living room has a stand up shower and a heat blower. The bathroom on the second floor has a full tub/shower, washer/dryer, and a heat lamp. brbrThere are four kayaks and an old canoe with paddles and life jackets available for tenant use. There is a small covered boathouse that is rustic and just used for storage with some rafts, a mini fridge, and campfire wood. The pier has a fire pit for nighttime fun. There are several chairs for relaxing by the lake. brbrWe have WiFi high speed internet access and over 190 channels of cable TV and a DVR for pausing, rewinding, or recording your favorite shows during your stay. There is a 42' flat screen TV with DVD player.br brThis is a family oriented neighborhood so no large parties or excessive noise allowed. Please contact us with any questions or if you would like to see more pictures of the house. brbrPlease note: The access to the bedrooms on the second floor is via a narrow spiral staircase. This may be difficult to navigate with large suitcases, infants, elderly, and/or pets. The house is at the bottom of a steep driveway. In the winter the driveway is plowed as soon as possible. The driveway is paved. Steps to the house and deck are cleared of snow prior to your stay. During the stay if it snows, shoveling is required. The driveway leads to a small shared parking area where we have two designated parking spots. Additional parking is available at the top of the driveway. br*IMPORTANT!* No trailers or boats are to be driven down the driveway. Trailers and boats can be parked in the parking area adjacent to the road at the top of the driveway. brbrOff season rates are for 2 night minimum. Just minutes from downtown Ithaca on the west shore of Lake Cayuga, this property has spectacular lake vistas and over 150 feet of EASILY ACCESSIBLE lake frontage. 1.4 acres of woods and majestic hemlock and oak trees frame a cottage originally built in the mid 1800's by a mayor of Ithaca and then lived in in the summers by his daughter, Belle, until 1922--one of Ithaca's original lakefront homes. We like to share the beautiful view and quaint, rustic vintage house with small gatherings of friends and families. brThis is our home and we are usually present on the property, staying in our own self contained area which shares nothing with the main house except the driveway. Since it is our home, we ask that you treat it kindly and leave it in the exact condition you found it. brDue to the ecologically sensitive location, we don't rent to groups larger than 8 (possible 12, with our permission, if there are small ones). There is bed space for 8 and the 2200 SF house can accommodate another adult or 2 on an air mattress or couch, or a couple of little ones. We want your group to be comfortable so you should consult us if your group has more than 8 adults. brWe have a strict NO PARTIES rule and do not allow visitors from off the property. Only the rental group is allowed on the property. Additional guest fees will be charged for each outside visitor on the property without the owner's permission. Maximum of 4 cars only in the driveway. There is a driveway camera.brbrThe paved S-curved driveway leads through the woods down the hill to a large parking area with room to turn around and for up to 4 cars to park.. There is one flight of stairs to the main floor entrance but bedrooms can be accessed from the driveway level. brbrThe 2200 sf of living space includes--on the main floor--an entrance room; a fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances (dishwasher, large frig, freezer with ice maker/water, gourmet stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, electric tea kettle, etc.); a laundry room with front loading washer and dryer, iron, ironing board; a full bathroom with shower; a large open living/dining room with a charming arts-and-craftsy 'inglenook' around the picturesque riverstone fireplace. The main floor has expansive lake views and opens out to an extensive deck area with plenty of outdoor seating, tables, gas grill, and views galore!brbr4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms as well as a screened porch are on the second floor. Two bedrooms have queensize beds; two have a fullsize bed. Additional living space in the walk-out basement level features a 5- 6-person sauna with a great view.brbrThe 150 ft of lakefront is about half gently sloping shale beach; the other half is a grassy area with a sea wall and includes a fire pit, dock, and boathouse, with lots of outdoor seating and two hammocks as well as a table and umbrella for dock seating. The property comes with a canoe, three single kayaks, and a tandem kayak. There are water shoes and life vests in the boathouse.brbrActivities and Attractions : The Finger Lakes is renowned for its wineries and breathtaking gorges. Ithaca is a mecca of arts, science, film activities, artisan farming, world famous restaurants, etc. Ithaca's Farmers Market is rated one of the best in the country. However, alot of folks don't even want to leave the property, since the quiet of the majestic old growth forest and the mesmerizing lake vistas, along with swimming, kayaking, and just gazing at the ever-changing water is the best--an oasis of peace and beauty and privacy --yet so close to all the perks of civilization! 'Magical' is the word most frequently used by visitors to describe the setting. brOf the large lakehouses for rent in Ithaca this is one of the few that has easy water access (only 35 easy steps to the beach), no train tracks or cliff between you and the water, and a Wegman's, Trader Joe's, TJMaxx, etc., and other shopping only 3 miles away (compared to 20 miles).br brIn addition, there is a small, 2-bedroom cabin on the upper part of the property completely private from the main house that is available at Homeaway listing # 268870.
