Beautiful Cayuga Lake

We had the most wonderful experience at this beautiful Lake House. Randall was an excellent and communicative host, and made the entire process go smoothly, from check-in to check-out. The house was exactly as described, and sunrise over the Lake was a sight to behold. The house was well-stocked with anything you could need and then some. The hot tub was immaculately clean and the perfect temperature, as it got chilly at night. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to use the kayaks, as the Lake had some flooding and debris that made it feel a little risky. The spiral staircase is a bit narrow, but exactly as pictured and described in the ad. The driveway is a bit steep, and might be difficult to manage if you have a larger SUV or truck. The house is very close to downtown Ithaca, local wineries, and parks. Overall, a great house in a great area. I imagine it's even more beautiful in the summer.

Great stay for our 10 year old and dog. Right on the lake. Host was available at all times. Spiral Staircase to get up to the bedrooms but the dog was fine downstairs. Great location near Ithica and plenty of hiking trails and restaurants. We had an awesome April weekend.

The lake house was beautiful, clean, and conveniently located to restaurants. The host gave great directions and details for check in and out, making the whole process easy. Great mini vacation for us!

Perfect location for family of 4 to use as a “homebase”

The house had more than I’ve ever had in any Vrbo- well equipped kitchen with everything possible, adequate furniture and lighting(so often I can’t read at night because of no side light or table), tissues, soaps, towels all more than needed. Such a great location for Ithaca based adventures. Great kayaking. Would gladly stay again

From the first moment, this place was great. It's right on the lake with just lovely views, great environs (great bird watching, excellent landscaping/gardening, and it's not too far from town. Very relaxed atmosphere that fits the Ithaca vibe well. Excellent for a quiet weekend with friends and family. Multiple rooms with fresh cut flower arrangements were a really lovely touch (yes, I noticed!). Excellent, thorough communication in advance too. Thank you!!

We all had an amazing time. The location was bucolic, right on the lake. We were there for our daughter’s graduation weekend at Ithaca College. It was conveniently located close to the campus and the commons. The place was clean & the hot tub was a fun bonus! Randall was very responsive w/any questions I had. We highly recommend staying here and we will be back!

Randall is a gracious host who quickly communicated well throughout the rental process. The property is clean, neat, well appointed, and has an amazing view of the lake. Our family of 4 loved sitting lakeside by the fire, fishing off the dock, and sitting in the hottub watching the sunrise and the stars shine. We appreciated the kayaks and used them daily.Just a few minutes from Ithaca, there is very close access to several waterfall hikes including Robert Treman and Buttermilk Falls. Taughannock Falls are a few miles north. Most wineries are about 25 minutes north of the property, but a quick and scenic drive. The kitchen contains all that is necessary for cooking in, and the gas grill was in great shape. There are DVD's and games for families to enjoy on a rainy day - as there is no covered area to sit outside. The many windows allow for great lake views no matter the weather.One caution - for anyone with mobility issues - there is a flight of stairs down from the parking area to the property, a spiral staircase to the bedrooms, and 3 flights of stairs to the lake. Otherwise, do not hesitate to book this property! We loved our time and are grateful for the hospitality Randall extended to us. We hope to return during the fall foliage season in the future.

I can't say enough about Randall and the home. It had everything we needed to feel like we were at our own house. The house was very clean, had every amenity we could need, the hot tub was hot, the cabinets were stocked. Waking up to the beautiful view of the lake was a bonus. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an Ithaca getaway!!

This is a lovely place, with beautiful views and a comfortable vibe. The hot tub was lovely, and in warmer weather the access to the lake would’ve been awesome. It’s a perfect location, very close to Ithaca but removed enough to feel like you’re in nature. The spiral staircase was fun for us but do be warned it is a little tricky if someone has trouble with mobility, or is a small child. We really loved our stay and would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely extra long weekend at Randall's house on the lake. The house is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, and in a great location to explore Ithaca and farms and wineries along Cayuga Lake. Randall's communication and instructions were excellent. Do be aware of the steep driveway to access the parking area, and the stairs to access both the house and the lake. We appreciated that the house was pet friendly.

We only had three days at this property, but filled those days with kayaking, hiking, playing at the lakeshore, enjoying the hot tub, sunrise coffee, simple meals, and moonrise on the deck. The safety gates insured that kids and dogs could enjoy the deck space as well. It was very conveniently located to many Ithaca attractions, including a museum (Museum of the Earth) accessible from the cottage by one of the hiking trails. The Sciencenter on first street is also a great place to visit with children. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The host was welcoming and provided clear, detailed, information and instructions and was always available by text. After long active days, and evenings of family visiting, comfy beds, fluffy comforters, and lovely lake breezes made for restful nights.

We had the best time here and didn't want to leave! The views are incredible!! I loved spending my mornings down by the water watching the beautiful sunrise over the lake! Randall is a fantastic host and provided all the info we could need to navigate the property and the area. He also went above and beyond by letting us know as soon as the house was ready on the day of check in and allowed us to extend our check out time as well! We really appreciated that the house was stocked with paper goods, coffee, and even firewood for the fire pit. We had everything we needed during our stay. The house is in a great location. Only minutes from downtown but in a very quiet secluded area! I am so appreciative of the accommodating pet policy! We stayed here with our dogs and they had so much fun! There are gates on the deck so we could keep the dogs contained when we were out there. The access to the lake was perfect! The dock area is secluded enough that the dogs were able to play in the water freely without disturbing the neighbors. There is a graded area that slopes right into the water so the dogs were able to walk in and out with ease and it gets deep enough near the shore that they were able to stay close and swim. Ithaca was a very dog friendly city! There were plenty of nearby restaurants that allowed dogs and countless hiking trails with breathtaking views of all the waterfalls! I would absolutely recommend staying here! We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lake house. Plenty of space for the 3 of us, comfortable, lots of outdoor space. Listing is very accurate. We appreciated the use of the kayaks/floats and it was really nice that staples were provided (I hate buying ketchup on vacation and using 10% of it). House is close to downtown. Owner was really easy to work with and very communicative. We are very happy and will definitely look to rent here again next time we’re in Ithaca.
