Easy access from either side of the room leads to a large, wrap around deck overlooking a private lawn and beach. The property faces due west providing unfettered sunsets and lake views. You won’t want to leave.brbrThe property has expansive beach with the water easily accessible via a short stairway at the boathouse. Swimming is excellent. The beach size varies with changing lake levels. Caution should taken, particularly with small children. During the summer higher waves can rise quickly.. brbrThis is a year-round home, designed for relaxation and special times. There’s a fully equipped kitchen (w/refrigerator, stove, microwave & coffee maker), smart TV, and wi-fi. The main floor has 2 bedrooms, one a spacious master bedroom with a split king bed, the other a roomy guestroom with full size bed. A full bath hosts twin sinks and tub/shower combination with grab bar. An open stairway provides access to a lower level with an additional guestroom with full size bed, 2nd full bath with stall shower, and family room with full-sized pool table. The lower level walkout provides direct access to the lakeside lawn. Fans are available in every room, the lake steps away, gentle breezes, and room to spread out with a good book in the shade. Linens are provided.brbrThe property is accessed via a short, wooded lane providing seclusion from the road, and shares the driveway, a boathouse deck and 140’ of private lakefront with the neighboring cottage, also available by the same owner. The house sits within 5 miles of Port Austin and Port Crescent State Park, one of Michigan’s few Dark Park Preserves. Open rafters and floor plan with 2 small bunk rooms, a compact master bedroom, and a guestroom with both a full bed and a bunk bed provide a perfect setting for quality gatherings. brbrRich in history with generations of family gatherings, this is an old-time cottage, gently updated with modern amenities of a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove & microwave, as well as smart TV and Wi-Fi. Ample kitchen utensils are provided. brbrNot geared for large parties or loud music, the cottage is perfect for quality time with loved ones and making family memories. A swing for a small child hangs from an old oak at water's edge. Fires are allowed in the fire ring; please douse with water and do NOT have fires on breezy evenings.brbrAn open book-swap shelf is available in the great room, along with cards, puzzles and games.brbrAir-conditioning is provided in the 2 fullsize bedrooms and a newly installed attic fan pulls hot air out of the house at the end of the day. With fans in every room, the lake steps away, steady breezes and ample room to spread out in the shade, it's the perfect place for relaxing with a cool drink. An electric wall heater is available in the great-room only for short term use on cool nights. Clean towels, linens and a cozy blanket are provided in a packet on each bed. Swimming is steps away as the property shares a boathouse deck and 140 ' of private lakefront with the neighboring property, also available by the same owner. The entrance drive serves both properties, with 4 dedicated parking spaces reserved for the Cottage. Welcome to the Grindstone Schoolhouse LLC. brbrThis historic building was built in 1906 and fully remodeled in the 1990s into an inn with 5 private bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom (or two)! At nearly 10,000 sq ft total, the areas are very spacious and perfect for your large group to gather.brbrThe top floor Master Suite has a new King mattress, a twin bed, his and hers bathrooms, and it’s own kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. The bell tower extends from the Master Suite and has a futon and a great view of the countryside.brbrOn the second floor you’ll find four large bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Two of the rooms have two queen beds and walk-in kitchenettes with a seating area. The other two bedrooms have one queen bed each. Every room has a TV, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot.brbrThe Main floor features an 1100 sq ft Great Room, fully equipped kitchen, and dining room/den. There is also a half bath and laundry room.
