Built in 1918, this historic duplex has been beautifully remodeled and cared for. The front porch faces 5th street, and every evening a 20 minute walk takes you to the end of the Grand Haven pier to watch the sunset; your own 'Key West' experience in Michigan. Our home is located in a quaint neighborhood and is just minutes from Lake Michigan beaches, downtown shopping, restaurants and fun! A 10 minute walk takes you to the local YMCA and the area's Imagination Station, tennis & pickleball courts and skate park.There are nine restaurants, two coffee shops and a bakery within 10 blocks featuring everything from pizza to sushi to seafood to Italian to steaks. Fast food includes gyros, Italian beef , hot dogs, fried chicken and burgers. Something to please everyone. Everyone loves to sit on the porch and watch the world go by. The house was perfectly clean in every detail, towels and linens too. It was 90F+ in Illinois, but this cottage right by Lake Michigan was comfortable even without AC (I like the old school vibe). There were enough fans as needed, and the house is tucked in a nice dune valley among the trees so it doesn't get pounded by sunlight to make it hot. Our apartment has it's roots in the cream city brick walls and the original claw foot tub. We renovated and added 500 sq ft in 2000 to give it a open and comfortable feel but save it's charm.
