Remember this, though, If you don't feel like walking, or there is inclement weather, all you have to do is call the front desk for the free private shuttle. It is available during ski season and can transport you to the slopes or anywhere else in town! That said, this location really is a pretty short walk from the heart of the ski area base - Steamboat Square. The Mountain Sneak trail runs right past Champagne Lodge, and leads directly to the slopes. Within about 300 meters, you'll come to Apres Ski Way. You can ski right back to this point, conditions permitting. Here you'll also find a small grocery, deli, restaurant, liquor and wine store called The Wild Plum. Burgess Creek flows through the base area with a controlled water level that flows through at a level that is ideal for kids who want to splash around.
