Local residents routinely report violators to the local Sheriff’s Department, without warning. Bears that enter a residence, garage, or vehicle are subject to euthanasia by the Department of Fish & Game. Please know that it is against State Law to leave any type of trash or wildlife attractant unattended. Therefore, all trash and recycling must always be securely placed inside a locked metal container (e.g., bear box or dumpster). Overflow garbage and recycling must be taken off-site by the Guests and never left in a garage, vehicle, near a door or window, or any other unsecured outdoor location. Guests assume financial responsibility for all violations of the law. Local and State fines for improper storage and/or disposal range between $1,500 and $5,000 per occurrence.
