Our home has one of the best views in all of Shaver and you'll enjoy looking out over the forest watching along as the clouds roll by throughout your stay. Perched on a solid granite slab overlooking the Sierra National Forest with Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park off in the distance, this is a perfect spot to launch into the forest for hiking and outdoor exploration. In the winter, children can sled right outside the downstairs sliding doors and then come inside and warm up next to the fireplace. Or enjoy your time skiing at China Peak, only 21 miles up the road from our home. When there isn't snow there is lots of runaround space in the gated neighborhood. Bring bikes and scooters, or set up a game of whiffle ball at the end of the cul-de-sac. In the summer, Shaver Lake Marina is 4 miles up the road.brbrThe outside is brought indoors with a 2400 sq. ft. reverse floor plan space featuring great views. Slate flooring and bathrooms, wood flooring in the common living area, knotty pine accents throughout the home, and handmade pine barnyard sliding doors as your gateway to the outdoors. Delight in the carefully curated decor of handmade and vintage pieces, mid-century modern furnishings, and rustic elements reminiscent of an old mountain home. brbrThe kitchen features a full array of KitchenAid stainless steel appliances including a range, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher - everything you need to enjoy an evening meal after a long day of mountain and lake activities. Pull up a stool at the fifteen foot granite counter to chit chat, eat breakfast, solve a puzzle, or play a hand of cards. In the morning, grab a cup of coffee or tea and head out to the balcony seating area which offers an astonishing view of the sun rising over the mountain ridge. The balcony is a great spot to read and talk while the kids play outside below. The living area is furnished with a solid distressed pine sideboard stocked with many of our favorite games and puzzles for all ages to enjoy and spend hours playing together. brbrPrepare your own home cooked meal or get take out from Cressman's or Shaver Lake Pizza (our family favorites) and eat at the reclaimed solid pine dining table. In the evenings, sink into the buttery Italian-tanned leather sofa around the gas fireplace, which turns on with the flick of a switch. All flatscreen televisions are equipped with DISH TV, equipped with hundreds of channels, including Sirius XM. The upstairs Master Suite also has a gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub, dual walk-in slate shower and a king size bed. There are two bedrooms downstairs with a full bathroom located in the downstairs hallway. All comforters are 100% down with duvet covers. Linens and towels are provided.brbrThis is a quiet neighborhood with only a few rentals. This is a single-family home rental with HOA rules that are expected to be honored. We feel very blessed to have this as our vacation home and ask that renters be considerate to not just our home but also to our neighbors. It's disheartening for all of us when people are disruptive and leave litter on the granite slab, which is a common area to us all. Please feel welcomed and at home because we've incorporated so many things for others to enjoy, but also be mindful to the property and the nature surrounding it so that we can continue to open it to guests. The lake is approx. 1 mile down the road, so it’s a very short drive. You can also take a hiking trail located right across the street from the property that will lead you to the lake, or the museum where you can learn all about the history that makes Shaver Lake what it is today!brbrIf you’re visiting in the winter months, China peak Ski Resort is about 25-minute drive from the property where you can go skiing/snowboarding. There is also a couple of snow parks where you and your family can go sledding.brbrbrThis modern suite is perfect home base while you explore everything Shaver Lake has to offer! The property will feel just the right amount of secluded, yet your still walking distance from all of the shops, restaurants, and activities in the area.brbrThe bedroom includes a comfortable Queen size bed with two floating nightstands on each side. There is a flat screen TV mounted on the wall that is equipped with a Roku device so you can stream your favorite movies and TV shows during your stay! We also have a desk in the room for our working travelers who need a place to sit down and work.brbrThe unit provides a well-equipped kitchen that’ll have all the basic cooking supplies and dishes you may need during your stay. Make sure to park in the garage OR parallel to the garage to ensure everyone can get out of their parking spots.brbrTwo vehicles can comfortably park at this cabin. One inside the garage and the other right in front of the cabin. There is also a shared parking space available as soon as you turn into the neighborhood, but please note that it is first come first serve for anyone in the community to use.brbrWe recently added a NEW tankless water heater to supply endless amount of hot water for our guests. This allows you to run up to two showers at a time, and have plenty of hot water for everyone in your group to shower consecutively. brPlease note that the tankless water heater can only supply unlimited hot water for two showers at a time. If you turn on a third shower or have any other hot water in the cabin running, the temperature of the water will drop to warm. brbrPlease note that the outdoor furniture, BBQ, and the firepit is stored in the garage during winter months to protect it from the rain/snow. Guests are still welcome to use it when needed. brbrAC: This property has portable AC units in three of the upstairs bedrooms.
