Cozy and Charming Apple Blossom Retreat—Relax with Nature

Sebastopol, California, United States

Entering our country lane, you’ll begin to settle into the quieter pace of West Sonoma County life. Here we have the luxury of attuning ourselves to the rhythm of the natural world. You may see a family of deer (lately the does have been showing their fawns around the property), or if you are lucky a furtive fox, bobcat or soaring red tail hawk. But even in this country paradise we are only an hour away from the urban delights of San Francisco, twenty minutes from Santa Rosa, and eight minutes from downtown Sebastopol.brbr From here you can easily spend your days walking, jogging or surfing at gorgeous Pacific coast beaches, hiking in old growth redwoods, discovering world class wineries, exploring the many art galleries in our neighboring towns, browsing in unique boutiques featuring the works of local artisans, biking through the vineyards, kayaking the Russian River, dining in Zagat-rated restaurants, small, local bistros or oyster bars along the coast, or just relaxing here at Apple Blossom Retreat. br brThe cozy, wood-shingled studio, surrounded by wisteria, apple trees, and flowers on the two-acre property is your home away from home. It is attached to our larger, country home where we live right next door, but you are completely private with your own separate entrance. Your studio and our house are separated by an 8 foot utility/laundry area. We are right here if you need anything, but we completely respect your privacy and desire for peace and quiet. brbrThere is a small garden patio for your personal use where you can sip coffee in the morning or enjoy a glass of wine after a day of exploring hidden wineries. On sunny days, curled up in a comfy armchair with a book, you can bask in sunlight pouring through the expanse of southern exposure windows; on rainy winter days you can watch the row of poplars dance in the wind.brbrWe’ve made the spacious living room both comfortable and beautiful, adding a few country antiques from my beloved Midwest family home. The centerpiece of the room though is a stunning, antique Japanese screen that creates your private bedroom. There you can luxuriate in the queen bed with high thread count sheets and piles of fluffy pillows. The sounds you may hear are reminders of simple, country life: the screech of a barn owl out for a night hunt, coyotes on a far away ridge yipping at the full moon, or perhaps the distant crow of a rooster. We also have Wi-Fi, cable TV, and a DVD player for those wanting to be more connected.brbrThere is a fully equipped kitchenette with refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, and a state of the art induction hot plate. brbrThe studio cottage works well for a variety of Sonoma County travelers: adventurers wanting to explore the area, couples seeking a romantic retreat, or individuals seeking a quiet refuge for study, writing, artistic pursuits, or quiet contemplation. brbrAt the end of the day enjoy a massage or enzyme bath at nearby beautiful Osmosis Day Spa, surrounded by an immaculate Asian garden, or just come on home and relax.brbrWe look forward to meeting you and sharing the magic of Sonoma County.brbrPS - All the wildlife photos you see here were actually taken on the property, usually no more than 100 feet from the front door.brbrbrbrKeywords: studio, cottage, secluded, romantic, quiet, wine country

Historic Ranch House on a Premier Wine Label's Vineyard in Sonoma Wine Country

Sebastopol, California, United States

Beautifully renovated house with new appliances, hot tub, infinity deck, sofa sleeper and much more.brbr*This property is designated as Historicalbr*License LIC23-0041- This is a legal VrbobrbrThe Ranch, as we call it has been in the family since 1871 and started off as a two story house on 52 acres of Redwood forest near Sebastopol and Occidental, CA. In 1906, the Great San Francisco Earthquake brought much of the home down, and it was rebuilt as an 1100 sq ft single story home with with the original redwood and fir flooring that it has today! These floors were restored as best possible in 2017.brbrOver the years it served various land uses with the 1950's seeing the start of Rome Apple production. The land was an apple orchard until 2016 when the Far Niente wine group leased 6.5 acres and re-purposed our hill for Pinot Noir production. The new label these grapes go to is EnRoute, and is in the same wine family as Far Niente, Dolce, Nickel & Nickel and Bella Union.brbrFor all of 2016 and 2017, the winery prepped the land and planted fertilizing ground growth. The vines were finally put in Spring of 2018. The vineyard is fenced off, so you aren't able to walk through it. But you can enjoy the views! However, there is a 100 year old Pinot vine right behind the back deck you can pick the grapes from if the deer don't beat you to it. There are also several apple trees left that fruit in the fall.brbrThe house itself feels larger than it is since it has 10ft ceilings and large rooms. Additional light has been added and the house has a very airy open feel, with two very large fans in the living room. The house does not have central heating or air. Since it located within ten nautical miles from the coast, the evenings are almost always cool and enjoyable in the summer. For winter, electric heaters work well and there is an efficient wood stove for you use. Firewood is included.brbrUpon arrival, prepare to relax on the deck with your complimentary chilled bottle of Bowman Cellars Rose of Pinot Noir. Bowman is located in Graton, just minutes from Bluebird Ranch and hosts wine tastings, regular menu items, and various pop up dinners. The Big Bottom Biscuit Bullet, a guest weekend food truck, offers a delicious selection of sweet and savory delights from Guerneville’s favorite gourmet deli and marketplace. However, there are times in the fall that don't cool off as they usually do. There are plenty of ceiling fans and floor fans.br*You are in the country so be mindful of your pets. There are coyotes, bob cats, red tailed hawks and even the occasional mountain lion.brbrWe hope you will choose our historical farm house for your visit to wine country!

Gated Wine Country Estate Amid Hundreds of Acres of Vineyards

Sebastopol, California, United States

Now is the perfect moment to explore the enchanting town of Sebastopol, where the exuberant charm of an old-fashioned farming town beckons. Originally renowned as the Gravenstein capital of the world due to Russian trappers planting Gravenstein apples in the 1800s, Sebastopol has evolved, with apples giving way to Burgundy varietals since the late '60s. Recognized as a new theater for wine grapes since the mid-'90s, it hosts home ranches for some of the most notable wineries, emphasizing blends and vineyard-designated wines (S.F Chronicle, 8.29.2008).brbrThe house, with hardwood floors throughout, boasts a modern kitchen with gourmet cookware, two full baths, and granite countertops. The master bedroom features a king bed with a full bath en suite, and the two guest rooms offer queen beds. Amenities include Wi-Fi, a 49 LG HDTV with a soundbar, Direct TV satellite service with Netflix, and a deck with a hot tub for stargazing. The house also stands at the gateway to the Russian River and Sonoma Coast wine regions in Sonoma County, CA. Merely 25 miles north lies the picturesque town of Healdsburg, known for its world-class shopping, ambiance, and restaurants.br brAccess to the property is through a coded gate, leading up a long driveway surrounded by 100 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris vineyards. Being part of a working ranch, occasional farming activity may be observed. While close to vibrant towns and farmer's markets, the property offers tranquility away from city lights and noise, providing each visitor with a peaceful spot in their private country home where they can acclimate to the sounds of silence at night.br brSebastopol and the surrounding area abound in artisan farms with organic, biodynamic, and sustainably farmed products. Award-winning wineries are easily accessible through a scenic drive, leading visitors through the Sonoma Coast, Russian River, Dry Creek Valley, and Alexander Valley. Country markets in Sebastopol, Healdsburg, Occidental, and Santa Rosa showcase the variety of micro producers prominent in the area.br brThe house provides a retreat in an environment of innovative yet accessible foods, world-class winemaking, first-class restaurants, and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, or strolling and the Graton Casino is less than 20 minutes away..br brExplore our 5StarVR site for information on personal chefs, caterers, massages, yoga instructors, personal trainers, and details about local restaurants and wineries. All vacation rentals are well-stocked with essential cookware, dinnerware, and consumables. Additional fees apply to heat pools from October through April. All houses are non-smoking indoors.br brWhile the property is an ideal gathering spot for family and friends, it strictly adheres to county regulations. Outdoor amplified music is prohibited, and surveillance cameras and decimal meters monitor parking areas and noise levels. County quiet hours, between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM, must be observed. Groups violating these rules may face eviction, substantial fines, and potential legal action.brbr TOT # 3115N
