All the pots, pans, utensils, and casseroles are provided as well as a well stocked coffee bar with a coffee maker, ground coffee, filters, and a grinder. The great room comfortably accommodates TV watching or game playing on the ornate coffee table and seating for 8 at the dining room table.brbrWe can accommodate 6 adults comfortably in the 3 bedrooms. 2 bedrooms have queen beds and the primary suite has a king bed. The primary suite also has a full sized futon AND a set of twin sized bunk beds in over sized walk in closet. Both the futon and the bunk beds work great for kids, but can accommodate adults as well. The cottage doesn't look like much from the OUTSIDE. Please take a close look at the pictures on the inside. My mother and father built this Log Cabin in 1950 on the 'Quiet Side' of Door County near the borderline of the Whitefish Dunes State Park. As you look out the windows you will see beautiful Lake Michigan along with white birch trees, an assortment of evergreen trees, the sand dunes. The beautiful Sand Beach begins at your door. The sand on the beach is so clean that it 'squeaks' when you walk on it. You will absolutely love our beach! Relax and build sandcastles with your kids. The water is very clean and the drop off is very gradual - ideal for kids of any age.brbrThe furniture in the log cabin has been updated and is very comfortable. The bathroom is very small BUT there is a dressing room adjacent with plenty of counter space and an additional sink and mirror. It is a 1.5-car wide lane (newly paved 2024) that meanders along the lake shore for a couple of miles, the speed limit along our stretch is 15 mph. It is not part of the tourist trail.brbrThe house is 40 feet away from our expansive sand beach, (across the small rustic lane) the total sandy area is approximately 1 acre. The lake shore is super sandy and the lake bottom is hard sand, gradual depth, great for kids, and your (leashed) dog too!brbrBoyer Beach House is located towards the northern end of a sandy bay that totals just over a mile. At the north end is where you will find the Sturgeon Bay shipping canal, lighthouse, and the Door County Land Trust Preserve which has 400+ acres of forest, dunes, and walking trails. brbrOur lakefront is perfect for kayaks, windsurfing, swimming, sailing, SUPing, and boogie boarding. Very easy to launch any 'quiet' water activities.brbrTo the rear of the house is about 2 acres of pines, birch, and cedars that you can explore. Beyond our land are hundreds of acres of privately owned, but undeveloped land. This area is teeming with wildlife. It is very common to see deer, porcupines, turkeys, or foxes walking in the area or right down the middle of South Lake Michigan Drive. brbrThe house is an extremely well-built ranch, circa 1960. There are two generous-sized bedrooms and plenty of closet space. Bedroom #1 is 16x14, with huge closets, a dresser, and a Queen size bed.
