We had a wonderful time on our Door County annual family vacation. The Boland House is a beautiful home. Well equipped, comfortable, roomy, excellent back yard. We have been going to Door County for decades and this is the nicest rental we have had. Our family would highly recommend this property and hopefully it will be available for us the next time we visit Door County.

We liked the house. The first level has high ceilings and is tastefully furnished throughout. We got a lot of use out of the screened-in porch, as well as the firepit area in the backyard. There's an outdoor shower on one side of the house, so you can wash off your feet after returning from your walks on the beach. (The beach, by the way, is beautiful -- sandy, not rocky, and not crowded at all during our mid-August stay.) We did have to move a coffee table up from the basement to the first level, because we really needed a table in the living room (and the table is shown there, in the pictures online). The kitchen now has a bench on one side of the kitchen table, not chairs. Just an FYI for those for whom that might make a difference, relative to the set of pictures attached to the listing. (I prefer chairs for the back support, but the bench would permit three smaller people to share that side, versus two people in chairs, so some would view the change as an improvement.) Overall, it was a very nice place to spend a week.

Our family really enjoyed our summer stay. The house, property, beach, and neighborhood were serene. We have been to DC many times before, mainly focused on the Green Bay side, but were taken back by what the Southeast side of Door had to offer. We will definitely be coming back!

We had a fantastic time! Our favorite places were the huge kitchen and screened in porch. It was wonderful to be right across the street from a private beach on Lake Michigan. We also enjoyed being next door to the beautiful Whitefish Bay Dunes Park. Lots more of room for six adults and lots to do in beautiful Door County. Thanks!

We enjoyed a wonderful week away at this immaculate home. Everything in the house was clean and in perfect condition. We enjoyed many evenings sitting outside on the screened porch. Access to the beach is easy. Highly recommend staying here! We hope to be back next year.

We spent 3 glorious nights in this wonderful home during Labor Day weekend. The house is thoughtfully laid out (lots of natural light, plenty of storage, open floor plan, and great views of the natural surroundings). The quality of the interior millwork is outstanding, and all appliances, fixtures, and furnishings are upscale and in pristine condition. The decor is sophisticated and yet inviting and soothing, with a dream kitchen, and screened porch that begs you to rest and r e l a x. -- The house is nestled on a hill surrounded by a natural forest of well established trees and wildflowers. Just across a quiet road a sandy path leads to a creek of sorts, and a private beach which stretches as far as the eye can see. This house is located on the quiet side of Door County and is approximately a 30-minute drive to the west side where some of the better known tourist towns are located, eg, Ephraim, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, etc. However, on some days we made the drive to/from more than once. (Easy drive). When we arrived we had an immediate question about the location of the house key and the caretaker was on the spot within a few short minutes. No time lost. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is seeking a classy, upscale residence, and who wants to enjoy the quietude of their surroundings (as well as a sandy beach which is far superior to any we know on the other side). This is an exceptional home of exceptional good looks and quality....one that is not always available in a rental market. Don't hesitate!

My family has been staying in Whitefish Bay for over 60 years, so we are already familiar with the quiet beauty of this setting. This home has it all. It was very comfortable for our group of 8 adults, although children would be comfortable as well since there are beach toys and a crib. Since we like to cook meals in often, the fully-equipped kitchen was a treat. Everything worked properly and the house was very clean upon our arrival. The screen porch was our family's favorite feature - it is very spacious with multiple seating areas and allowed us to read, play games or just chat outside even during the evening hours and the one rainy morning we had. I found the owners to be most accommodating and pleasurable to deal with - it's clear they want to please their guests in every way. We hated to leave this lovely home and are eagerly looking forward to our next stay. I highly recommend this home.

This is the perfect spot for a relaxing vacation. Every evening, it was such a joy to return to this gorgeous home for a lovely sunset and wonderful meal on the HUGE screened-in porch (dining table plus seating area). The photos do not do this home justice-it is beautifully built and maintained-gorgeous floor, finishes and furnishings. The kitchen has absolutely anything you require to cook anything you could want. The centralized music system is great. The master bath is beautifully appointed with a big tub and huge steam shower, and double vanities. The bedroom is a very nice size with lots of storage. The bed is VERY firm. There is also a crib in the room. The living room is a lovely place to curl on the sofa and read a book-with the gas fireplace if it's chilly. The setting feels very private-up on a hill, quite wooded and covered with hydrangeas. We frequently went to the big beach across the street-which is quiet and very walkable. Also a fabulous spot to watch the sunset reflect on clouds. My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Glidden Lodge-go early to enjoy a sunset on the patio (heat lamps are available). We also had really good pizza and sandwiches at The Hitching Post, which is owner-operated. We are looking forward to our next visit. We would consider ourselves lucky to stay in this wonderful home again.
