Located on the coast between Port Angeles and Sequim, you have easy and convenient access to the Olympic Mountains, National Park, and local attractions. If you choose to stay close to home, you have a private trail with beach access, about a 5 min hike along the creek to a lagoon, where the creek meets the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If you stay indoors, you have many amenities including WiFi, cable TV, washer/dryer, kitchen dishes and utensils. It is equipped with everything you will need to stay for a weekend or even for a month at a time. It has clean, late model appliances including a glass top range and a dishwasher and all of the cooking utensils, cookware, dishes and glassware that you will need to fully enjoy your meals. You will want to barbecue outdoors on the gas grill and share your meals on the porch watching the sunsets and the wildlife that is all around. The cozy, comfortable couch is perfect for relaxing indoors and enjoying the T.V. and stereo or just reading a good book. The quality front loading laundry set is there for your convenience and the bathroom offers a bathtub and shower combination. The queen size bed and the double beds will accommodate four people comfortably.brbrYou will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.brbrThe quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.brbrThere are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. Please read through the entire description for details.brbrSUMMERTIME/PEAK SEASON (MAY 1 - OCTOBER 30):brEnjoy lakeside living at this well-equipped Lake Sutherland Retreat right at the water's edge. During Summer and Peaktime getaways with family and friends, the house sleeps up to 7 guests (in 5 beds). brbrThe huge dock has multiple seating areas for soaking up the sun and enjoying conversation. We provide a paddleboard and 2 kayaks for enjoying the water during the summer/peaktime months of May - October. The outdoor patio is equipped with a gas BBQ grill and food prep area. There's even a full bathroom on the dock level for your convenience with entrance from the outside. We also have a shallow beach entry to the Lake for wading and swimming, perfect for the kids and for launching the kayaks/paddleboard. A few sizes in life jackets are provided but we always encourage you to bring your own to ensure the best fit. brIn the evenings, enjoy soaking in the hot tub under the stars or enjoying a fire either at the gas fire table or at the outdoor wood fire pit (outdoor fire bans July 1 to October 1). brbrInside, there is a cozy living room on the dock level with seating, a gas fireplace and a Smart TV for your enjoyment. There is also the Primary bedroom with Queen size bed and Smart TV just off of the living room. Both the living room and the primary bedroom have sliders leading to the dock and Hot tub.brUp one flight of stairs, on the main level of the home, you will find a fully equipped indoor kitchen with counter seating and stunning lake views. The small second bedroom with a queen size bed is located right off the kitchen (entrance is across from the kitchen sink). And for additional sleeping needs, we also have a loveseat that pulls out into a twin size bed just off the kitchen. The main floor indoor bath with shower and the laundry room are also located on this level. brTo access the upper-level third floor bedroom with two twin beds and stunning views of the lake, you will go out the sliding doors at the main level of the home and climb the outside stairs one flight. This bedroom is only accessed from an outside locking door and is best suited for adults rather than kiddos. brPlease note, the 2nd bathroom is located at the dock level and is only accessible from the outside with a key, and can be a bit chilly to get to at night, so you may choose at night to only use the indoor bathroom with shower located inside on the main level.brbr****DURING THE MONTHS OF MARCH/APRIL & NOVEMBER:brWe LIMIT guest capacity to 5 guests ONLY, as we do CLOSE the upper third bedroom with the 2 twins. We do this for two reasons, the outdoor dock and seating is not usually accessible due to the weather and the retreat's inside accommodations are intimate and can only seat up to 5 guests comfortably in the living room. The sleeping arrangements during this time are the two queen beds and the twin size sleeper sofa. The Retreat during these months is a great option for couples looking for a romantic getaway. The gas fireplace is wonderful to cozy up to and the hot tub is still available for soaking under the stars. The paddleboard/Kayaks are NOT available during these months.brbrAdditional things to Note:br1. The house's water source is from the Lake. It is pumped into the house, which can lead to the main level toilet filling slower. This is normal. brWe do have a UV water filtration system and the water is safe for showering/cleaning and cooking needs. We do still recommend that you bring bottled water for your drinking needs.br2. There are posted safety guidelines on the dock for the Hot Tub and Paddlesports. We do ask that you adhere to these guidelines at all times.br3. The pump that runs the water from the Lake can be noisy at times. The pump house room is next to the dock level bedroom. Whenever there is water being drawn for a toilet, faucet, shower or laundry this pump will be on and can be have a white noise affect. If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, we do provide earplugs for sleeping at night. Again, the pump will only make noise when a toilet, sink, appliance (dishwasher/washing machine) or shower are being used.br4. Check in instructions will be made available on the VRBO app in the Welcome Guide 3 days prior to your arrival.brbrRental Agreement:brAt the time of booking, the rental agreement/house rules are presented for your review and electronic acknowledgment that you have read and understood the terms.

Nestled along the bluffs overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Hunters' Gate Farm sits along the west side of the mouth of McDonnell Creek. Hunters' Gate Farm Guesthouse offers relaxation with privacy and intimacy. The entire property and grounds are at your disposal. There are several wooded trails that lead to waterfront look-outs where you will want to sit and reflect on the natural surroundings, the native plants, the birds, wildlife, passing ships, the sunsets or the peace and quiet of the property itself. You will enjoy a sumptuous night's sleep as you listen to the waves and enjoy the high end mattresses and luxurious, hand ironed, high thread count linens. Contemporary finishes, high end appliances, and comfortable decor, surrounded by nature. brbrOur newly constructed Guesthouse was the family home for 33 years before it was mostly destroyed by fire in 2012. The original foundation and outer cement walls are concrete block. Now, within those familiar walls we feel a sense of tradition and timelessness. Reconstruction completed in 2019 which was a lengthy effort but well worth the work and wait to save a much loved home. brbrThe outdoor features include nature trails, lawns and patios, BBQ gas grill, and picnic table. There are gardens, orchards, fields, and grassy areas all within the water view. Our flock of laying hens reside in the barn with the peacocks, and are fun to view from the outside. There is an outside greenhouse and a sunroom for sitting surrounded by indoor plants. brbrYou will enjoy our private beach trail which is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Beautifully landscaped property with a babbling waterfall feature as the focal point & a large deck to enjoy the ocean views! This home fits perfect for those looking for a weekend getaway or hosting a family vacation!brbrThe master bedroom has a mattress firm fully-adjustable King bed mattress, a customized bathroom with separate walk in shower and separate tub and deck access with a view.brbrThe upstairs guest room is decorated with an aviation theme and includes pictures of two airplanes I previously co-owned; a Mooney M20E which my partner landed wheels up and a Cessna 180J on floats, which I crashed at Moses Lake. No one was hurt in either case, thankfully. This room has a queen matress firm adjustable bed.
