The great room, with it's high vaulted ceiling, is the heart of the house, with the living, dining, kitchen, and video nook in the same space. A series of windows and doors look north to Freestone lake, as well as Goat Rocks, across the valley. The deck outside faces the lake, with a propane BBQ, and outdoor seating.brbrAbout 100 yards away is a small swimming area, dubbed 'South Beach' that is a great, and safe, summer hang-out. The Methow trail system runs through the Freestone area, and in winter you can ski out the door. If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. The cabin is close to rock climbing in Mazama and the Washington Pass areas as well as hundreds of hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking, and hiking trails.
