Incredible Mountain Log Home on Methow River

This newer upscale 2400 square foot cedar log home is located on the confluence of the Lost and Methow Rivers. The 35 foot glass prow windows face the river and North Cascades National Park. Although the river goes subterranean sometimes during the fall, swimming, rock hunting, snowmobiling and skiing are favorite activities on the river. For groceries and delicious baked goods don't forget to stop by the Mazama General store, about 7 miles from the house.brbrThis is not your usual 'generic' vacation rental. It is a 'guest home' and it will feel that way too. We provide everything you need to have a great visit -- including many smaller appliances such as waffle iron, ice cream maker, crockpot, etc and all the laundry soap, shampoo, conditioner, body soaps, lotions, paper products, first aid kit, sewing kit -- and much much more.brbrAccess to trails within the National Park, The Pasayten National Wilderness and the Okanogan National Forest are easily accessible by foot. If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Central Station(a legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law)is a perfect house to stay with the family, or a couple friends; a newly constructed cabin located a short walk from the Mazama Store, and winter ski trails. With two outside decks, you can have your morning coffee, facing the rising sun, or the afternoon glow and views of Goat Peak. brbrThe house is really a long rectangle, with the 'gathering area' in the center. The living and dining area share the same space as the generous kitchen, with the two decks to opening to either side. The Master suite, with king bed and bath are to one end, and the other two bedrooms share the common bath. There is a laundry/utility room. One of the bedroom has two twin beds, which are usually fit together to become a king bed, though they can also be separated. If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WAbrbr*The propane stove is a supplemental heating source not the main one. If there should be tech issues or the propane fireplace during your stay, please send a message through VRBO. Methow Reservations and the owner will try to troubleshoot and remedy the problem. It’s a 20 minute drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 25 minutes to Washington Pass and 30 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead. Great for beating the crowds and snagging a trailhead parking spot at peak seasons.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrGetting here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. The nearest major airports are Spokane International Airport at 180 miles (year round) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (190 miles in summer / 260 miles in winter). Regional flights are also available at Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee located 102 miles away.brbrbrbrGetting Around: The location is walking distance from the Mazama Store and Trailhead. We are currently only arranging catering for group events at The Inn. There are several nearby dining options including the Sandy Butte Restaurant, Jack’s Hut and Woodstone Pizza.
