Sherwood Forest Resort is a gated private community located just 1.4 miles, or 3 minutes from Light 10 on the Pigeon Forge Parkway and just 3 miles from Dollywood. It also has a large 30' x 55' community swimming pool. Solid Ground Lodge is set up for comfort and a special getaway experience. This is not your typically furnished 'RENTAL CABIN' No sleeper sofa, just ultra comfortable leather couch and love-seat. The bed comforters are all handmade and the sheets are 500 thread count for your comfort. We are not so concerned with packing a lot of people in the cabin as we are in you having a homey and special getaway vacation. Since purchasing Solid Ground in Jan. 2017 we have spent over $10,000 in refurnishing and redecorating this cabin. Almost all lighting has been changed to dimmer lighting so that you can adjust the lighting to your mood. Wireless Internet. Hair dryers in both bathrooms. All the kitchen pots, pans, utensils, glassware, and about everything else you can think of, is brand new. We refinished the railings and deck, plant 200-300 flowers every spring, as well as new trees and shrubery. All bedrooms and living room have flat screen TV's. 32' flat screen TV's in both bedrooms with DVD players. The 42' flat screen in the living room has a surround sound system. We also have over 20 DVD's for your entertainment. The cabin is also equipped with wireless high speed internet. The phone has unlimited local and long distance calling. Cell phone reception is great, as we are high up on the mountain. The upstairs master bedroom has it's own jacuzzi tub and an electric fireplace. It also has it's own bathroom. There is also a full bath downstairs right off the kitchen and 2nd bedroom. The kitchen has all granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The front of the cabin is all windows which provides an awesome view of the Smoky Mountains. The front deck has four rocking chairs to sit in while relaxing or cooking on the gas grill. Solid Ground has it's own private parking area that is flat and has room for 3 cars and motorcycles. The road to the cabin is very wide, paved, and not steep at all. We also have a specially built gazebo off the deck with a hot tub. It has pull down privacy shades also. There are no cabins on that side of the cabin. The cabins bedrooms are in the back, next to the mountain so they are much quieter than other cabins in the resort. We also have the only side yard area in the resort which I have used to plant my trees, shrubs, and flowers. This cabin is our special getaway place , and we hope it can be yours too. Upstairs, you'll find the two other bedrooms complete with queen sized Nectar brand mattresses and pillows. Guests also have access to a shared bath upstairs as well. Keep warm during the winter months by settling in around the stone-stacked wood fireplace in the living room. In the Living Room, cozy up on our comfy couch and rocker recliner after a long day of hiking. (Fires are allowed only October 1st - May 1st). We also provide luggage racks for your suitcases.brbrKITCHEN AND DINING: brThe Kitchen is fully-equipped and the dining area has a dining table that comfortably seats six, and the glass window walls provide stunning views and plenty of natural light. Our coffee maker is your standard 12 cup drip style for those laid back mornings. There is a brand new propane grill for additional cooking located on the main level deck. (Please make sure to return the grill cover back to the grill after clean up). (Detergent not included). For toiletry goods, we provide 2 rolls of toilet paper and some basic hand soaps and shampoo for your arrival. In the kitchen, we provide all the necessities for prepare home cooked meals for your family. We also provide a roll of paper towels and dish detergent for our dishwasher. All appliances are in great working order. For any additional needs beyond what is initially provided, we are located 15mins from a nearby Kroger and Publix grocery store. brbrWHAT'S NOT PROVIDED: brWe don't have an outdoor firepit on our property. Please make arrangements to bring your favorite coffee, laundry detergent should you need it, and firewood in the winter months as we don't provide those items. Welcome to Blackberry Bear, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in the Blackberry Ridge Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, just minutes off the Parkway. This cabin sleeps 6. It's just far enough away from the bustle of the Parkway, while still being within 5 to 10 minutes drive of most everything. With easy paved road access (no mountains to climb) and an in-town location, you’ll spend less time driving and more time having fun! With 3 parking places, Blackberry Bear is a great starting point if you're coming for Rod Run, the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion, Ponies in the Smokies, or any of the other fun special events! Many are held at The Island, which is less than a mile away. The Cal Ripkin Experience is also very close, if your kids are participating in it. Thanksgiving and Christmas season is very special here, with the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the attractions hosting special events.brbrAs soon as you enter Blackberry Bear, you’ll be amazed at how beautiful and comfortable this cabin is. The expansive living room features beautiful wood tones and log style tables, a stone accented fireplace, cozy décor and a cathedral ceiling that creates more space and openness. There is an entire 2 story wall of windows, which makes the cabin very bright, and there are drapes across the lower half which can be opened, or closed for privacy. They have been tinted in the spring of 2021 to reduce the glare and heat which comes through the glass.brbrThe main floor has a living room with a queen sized sleeper sofa and comfortable seating; the gas log fireplace is seasonally available. Cable TV and WiFi are included, along with a DVD player, should you want watch one of our classic videos. The kitchen is recently redone, with a side by side refrigerator including through the door ice and water dispenser, stove and dishwasher, and full of the dishes and cooking necessities to keep you happy through your stay. The dining table has plenty of room for the family, while the breakfast bar is perfect for grabbing a quick bite before adventuring out for the day. There is a king bedroom on the main floor, with a TV and adjoining bath. The bath has a tub/shower combination. The cabin also has a washer and dryer, so if you want to do a quick load of laundry, it's very convenient. We do provide a couple of laundry pods, but if you're going to do a lot of laundry, you might want to bring more.brbrUpstairs you'll find the game loft, complete with pool table, seating and a bright, airy window. There's also a table upstairs for playing a board game, and it's also a good spot if you're trying to do a little remote work while on vacation. The master bedroom is upstairs, with a king sized bed, private bath, and in-room jacuzzi tub. brbrOn the back deck you'll find new, comfortable wood log rockers, along with a gas grill and new hot tub. You'll find a bistro table with 2 seats on the back deck, near the grill. It's great for holding your food as you grill, but it is also a wonderful place to sit in the morning and enjoy your coffee. There is a privacy screen at the end of the deck near the hot tub. It's very secluded and quiet, with a nice wooded view. brbrFrom mid-November through January, Pigeon Forge. Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are decorated for the Christmas celebration, and so is Blackberry Bear! Come have an early (or late) celebration here, in a place where everyone loves the holidays!brbrA short walk from the cabin, you'll find the community pool, which is available from the end of May until some time in late September to the middle of October, depending upon the weather, and has free WiFi available, as well. Pool hours are 9AM to 9PM. Additionally, there is a clubhouse near the pool, which is available for rent by guests. We can put you in touch with the management if you're interested in this!brbrThis resort is just six miles from Dollywood and the Old Mill, giving guests easy access to some of the best attractions in the area! Stop by The Island, about a mile away, to take a spin on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. Across the street from the main entrance to Blackberry Ridge Resort is a stop for the Pigeon Forge Trolley. It's an easy way to get a tour around the area, or a ride to your destination without worry about parking, and the fare is very inexpensive. This cottage sits on stilts which provides a wonderful covered parking area for vehicles and sits right on the shore of the Little Pigeon River and close to the community’s picnic area. When you enter the cabin, you come into the fully furnished kitchen that includes a stove, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. There is a dining table that seats four, and a full-size living room with a leather couch, love seat, and recliner, along with a 40-inch flat screen TV, Blu-Ray player, and a stone encased seasonal gas log fireplace. There are two bedrooms at the cottage, each equipped with king size beds.
