It’s basically a rule of thumb for all mountain roads in this area, that if ice or snow conditions are present, you should have 4-wheel drive or snow chains.brbr19. Is this cabin secluded – This cabin is perched at the top of a hill overlooking the mountains. However you can see other cabins from the decks & there are direct neighbors on both sides.brbr20. Was this area affected by the 2016 wildfires – Yes. You may see evidence of trees and properties that were affected by the fires and possibly hear construction noise from other cabins being built. **THE INDOOR POOL AND SPAS ARE OPEN.** This 2 bedroom 2 bath condo at The Summit of Gatlinburg Condos is located 3.5 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and 1.5 miles from Ober Mountain Ski Resort. The unit has been recently remodeled, is a corner unit that offers breathtaking views. The master bedroom has a queen bed, full bath (shower and tub combo) and TV. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twins and a sleeper sofa in the living room (which is great for kids). The 2nd bath offers a stall shower, the kitchen is small but fully equipped with standard and Keurig coffee makers, a wood burning fireplace and TV in Living room, there are 2 balconies each with a great view This is a 2nd floor unit in building #7 there are 13 steps to get to building then 2 sets of steps with 8 steps each for a total of 16 steps. There is NO Elevator. This unit does have WIFI. THIS CONDO DOES NOT ALLOW PETS!! If you bring a pet you will be asked to leave with no refund, and a 100.00 per day fine will be accessed on your bill. Smoking is not allowed in the unit. Please smoke outside. If you smoke inside, you will be charged a $200 fee. Winter Weather Warning: The elevation at The Summit is above the lodge at nearby Ober Mountain Ski Resort. In case of inclement weather, 4 wheel drive and/or chains are advised. We recommend checking the weather and webcam at Ober Mountain Ski Resort to determine the weather conditions here. The City of Gatlinburg does an excellent job of keeping the roads open in winter, but in case of heavy snowfall, it may take a day or more to make the roads safe for travel. When staying here in the winter, it is advised that you bring extra supplies just in case.

Approaching from South Baden Dr is the easiest way to access the driveway/parking area for the chalet. Your GPS may take you to North Baden Dr, but go ahead and pass it and re-route to South Baden. You can park right in front of the cabin and enter on the lower level or the second level, up the stairs. Both doors have keyless access. As stated above, all guests must be able to walk up stairs.brbrParking is free and in our private driveway. There is space for 5-6 vehicles. You will park directly in front of the cabin and walk up the stairs to enter your vacation home. Parking is tandem style, which means vehicles parked last in will need to move out to allow vehicles at the front of the parking area to exit (if parking the max number of vehicles).brbrOTHER DETAILS TO NOTEbrbr- Bears are very prevalent in this area, which is so close to the National Park! You will most likely see black bears on the property while staying at Chalet Zermatt.
