The cabin also contains a bunk bed located in a small nook off of the great room (for a total of 4 beds). In addition, this cabin provides Direct TV, a washer and dryer, and a large deck with a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. The deck features a grill, an outdoor dining area, and plenty of covered seating to take advantage of the beautiful vistas. The completely renovated interior features a fireplace on each floor, with a kitchenette equipped with a mini-refrigerator and a number of portable cooking appliances, comfortable family room, and full bath on the first floor. There is a spacious second floor bedroom with two bunks, each with a single on the top and a double on the bottom, and a king bed which can be partitioned off for privacy. There is also a half bath on the second floor. A washing machine, dryer and full refrigerator are located under the first floor, and there is a charcoal grill in the attached garage. The cabin has a furnished porch overlooking the enclosing woods and includes access to a spacious split-level deck nestled in mountain laurels, perfect for cocktail hour or a big family supper. It also features generous outside decks with an outdoor eating area, wireless internet, Direct TV, a washer and dryer, and a gas grill. Guests can enjoy the solitude of the area while rocking on the covered back porch. This porch, which overlooks Pisgah Forest, features ample seating for large groups, as well as a ceiling fan and variable lighting to guarantee year-round comfort. Bear Ridge View, with its knotty-pine paneling and charming décor featuring a mix of unique antiques and newer pieces, is an ideal cabin for couples or small families.brbrThe efficiency cabin, known as the “Moonshine Shack”, is located adjacent to this cabin and features one large main room, including a kitchenette and sleeping area, as well as one bath and a covered porch. This cabin got its name due to the fact that it was the site of a moonshine operation run by the prior owner. The Moonshine Shack can be rented for an additional fee of $50/nt plus a $35 cleaning fee to provide additional sleeping quarters for the occupants of Bear Ridge. Moonshine Shack is only available to guests that are also renting Bear Ridge. The property borders miles of national forest trails. brbrOur cabin sits on a hilltop overlooking pastures with horses, waterwheel, fishing pond, and stream. While sitting in a rocking chair, or swinging on the porch swing, you will enjoy the panoramic mountain views. The quietness offers a relaxing and tranquil vacation. brbrOur secluded 250 acres of heavily wooded forest borders the Pisgah National Forest. 'Turkey Pen' trail-head is where Native Americans once gathered wild turkeys. We still unearth arrowheads today and wild turkey sightings are a regular occurrence.brbrAs a participant in North Carolina's Stewardship Program, we are committed to preserving wildlife and enhancing the land. During your stay you will see many species of birds, wild turkey, deer, and other wildlife.brbrWe offer private hiking trails that adjoin the National Forest. There are also Blue Ribbon trout streams that are accessible from these trails. They are a long hike to get to & are much easier to access by car. Bring your own horse if you want to.
