The breweries and cideries are numerous, and Sierra Nevada is 3.6 miles away.brbrThis rental is our basement living space has 850 square feet that includes a master bedroom and bathroom, a small private room with a single bed, and the bathroom has a dual entrance. It has a refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, ice maker, coffee pot, Keurig and beverage cooler. Live edge wood details throughout and a stone fireplace. There is a sitting area with live edge coffee table and couch/love seat. It has been completely renovated with a modern, custom mountain style. The space has a private driveway, parking and dedicated entrance. Every part of the apartment is new, including the pillow top mattresses and high quality linens. You will not be disappointed.brbrOur house is on a dead end road in a quiet neighborhood. It is quiet and peaceful. There is a large stone fire pit/patio area in the back yard that is available for use. The Rhodie House is situated in a peaceful, well-established community with incredible views and yet surrounded by trees and nature lending to the privacy you will feel when staying at this house. For hiking and nature enthusiasts, a 300 acre nature preserve with walking paths is at the top of the mountain, less than a mile away. Perfect for families or couples looking to enjoy all the entertainment Asheville has to offer as well as peace, relaxation and inspiring mountain views. The rustic farmhouse dining table seats eight comfortably. The living room has a gas fireplace , plenty of comfortable leather seating, a bistro table at which to enjoy your morning coffee and a 55 TV with Netflix. brJust off the living room is the peaceful sun room with windows on three sides and more amazing views! The main floor has two bedrooms: the master has a king size bed, 40 flat screen TV and two closets . The 2nd main floor bedroom has two twin beds. Full bathroom with double vanity is in the hall leading to the bedrooms. Lower level has large king bedroom with an attached bathroom and 2nd downstairs bedroom with queen bed and sliding door to outside deck. We are so close to the highly rated Biltmore Estate and the Grove Park Inn...both must sees during your trip!brbrFor a more subdued trip, the Blue Ridge Parkway is minutes from the house, with lots of biking and hiking trails. Collier Cove Reserve is on our mountain, within walking distance! Pisgah Bent Creek mountain biking trails are perfect for avid bikers. Zen Tubing and French Broad kayaking and ziplining are also adventures to check out! Or a simple walk around the neighborhood will offer you beautiful views and an accelerated heart rate!brOur mountain is popular…we have neighbors around and some within view of our place! Most have been here for many years and we enjoy them. brKIDS! and PETS!brbrWe love kids; I have two of my own that managed to get to adulthood and successfully fly the coop! However, our home is not suitable for infants or kids under the age of 5. Please let me know in your inquiry how old your kids are. My policies say 13 and younger must be approved…I’m super accommodating but I do want to know their ages before I accept!! Thank you!!brbrWe love dogs too, but ask that they not be allowed on the bedding or sheets. I provide “dog blankets” on each bed for your dogs to use…dog hairs are very difficult to get out of our clean sheets and bedspreads! If your dog is crate trained, that’s even better. A dog kit with paw towels and food mat is at the house! We also have a medium sized dog crate at the top of the basement stairs. brbrDRIVEWAY!brbrAs expected, the driveway is typical for a mountain home driveway... worth mentioning that it is steep, but also with parking options for all vehicle (and driver!) types! We suggest backing down the driveway with your front wheel or all wheel vehicle...it's easier to get out if you are backed down; easy to unload at bottom of drive. There are also up to 3 gravel spots at the top of the driveway as well; walk down the staircase, which is nicely lighted during the evening, and equipped with a handrail. brbrOUTSIDE!!brbrYou are in Asheville to enjoy this spectacular part of the country...whether you stay at the house or venture offsite to the incredible opportunities that Asheville offers, you can find plenty to do!brbrThe main level deck is perfect for outdoor dining and will give you beautiful views of the mountain sunsets and leaf changing during our seasons! We have a large table and chair and plenty of outside dishes and cups for you to enjoy! The deck also has Adirondacks for your viewing pleasure...comfy and weather proof! Enjoy the ambient lights that surround the deck and make it glow! The grill is on the deck, ready for your cookout and kabobs!brbrThe fire pit is situated on the side of the house, and has up to five adirondacks to cozy up to the fire! S'more sticks are provided! Starter firewood is also included. You'll enjoy views of the forest and the mountains while sipping your hot cocoa or other adult beverage! Just remember to practice fire safety, please!!brbrBears have been sighted at the property. Bear spray, bells, and flashlights are provided for your use. Use proper caution and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Do not leave food in cars, on decks, or anywhere outside. Welcome to The Farmhouse in Asheville NC and wide open spaces! Drive out the quiet winding road that parallels the French Broad River to the white 1940s farmhouse on the hill. Sit on the front porch and soak up the sun as you survey the green that surrounds you. Horses graze in the field. You exhale and relax. There is corn hole, horseshoes or enjoy the firepit. Asheville has so much to offer! Float or kayak the French Broad River. There is a seasonal tubing outfitter less then a mile away - Beer City Tubing. For do it yourself kayaking or tubing there are 2 river access points close to our home. One is about 2 miles away at Glenn Bridge Rd Park and the other is Butler Bridge Rd by the airport. There are more upstream. brbrAs the cool of the evening sets in, relax on the patio or porch. Get away with your family or friends and unplug as you play board games or corn hole. Or drive 30 minutes to one one many of Asheville's iconic destinations: Biltmore House, the largest privately owned house in America; or 30 min the other direction to quaint Hendersonville complete with bakery, soda shop and Mast General Store. Asheville is also a hub for great hiking. We have DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, and the infamous Parkway. Our home is centrally located to so many of the attractions of the Asheville area. If you are a beer or wine connoisseur, the Asheville/Hendersonville area has become known for its microbreweries and wineries. We are approx 10 minutes to the famed Sierra Nevada Brewery. Don't forget to take a tour, it's so interesting. brbrIf you are flying in, we are 10 min from the Asheville Airport.brbrMy childhood home was built in the early 1940s and is modest yet comfortable. It sleeps 8. There are 3 bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa. There are 2 bathrooms. Downstairs there are 2 queen bedrooms that share a hall bathroom. Upstairs is the master with a king bed and private bath. There is a den and living room so kids can game in one room and adults can gather in the other room. For holidays, there is ample room to prepare a meal and eat together in the dining room or spread out on the porch. To me, the best spot is the glassed front porch where the sun streams in and you can enjoy the 180 degree view.brbrOur goal is and has always been the comfort of our guests. We have been in the vacation rental business for 25+ years. Please note this is a working farm and it is an awesome“in the country experience” including horses in pastures near the house, lots of grass and hay fields. My sweet childhood memories come flooding back as I breathe in the smell of fresh cut grass and hay! That being said, if you suffer with allergies related to these things, this might not be the best choice for you.brbrWe will send our rental agreement directly to you upon booking. Cottage in the shade is well appointed with everything you could need, (I have a supply of things if you need something). There's a sweet patio with table and grill for a cookout. Plenty of space in the living area and the kitchen is the perfect spot to gather around the island while the meal is prepared. There are two queen beds,.Both bedrooms and the full bath are located on the upper floor accessible via stairs, (spiral). One bedroom has access to small private deck to enjoy the birds and other wildlife. The quiet neighborhood is the perfect location to escape from the hustle bustle.
