We`re also 30 minutes to the famous MT. WASHINGTON HOTEL which we like to visit for lunch or tea. Or in the summer time, you can hike/drive up Mt. Washington, or golf on the majestic course overlooking the tallest peak in the Northeast. If you drive, you`ll park on the road and walk down the path, through the woods to an awesome sand beach right along the Saco River. You`ll see kayakers and floats going by. It`s shallow water with an active current depending on the river levels. There are usually wading pools perfect for younger kiddos. And plenty of rocks for endless throwing into the river.
