Designed as a Bavarian town and is nestled in the North Georgia mountains. Helen has many family activities, including tubing in the Chattahoochee river, hiking the mountains, wine tasting in local wineries, and visiting the local waterfalls, such as Anna Ruby Falls in the Unicoi state park. brbr* Blairsville – 1.5 hour drive- a local attraction in Blairsville is Brasstown Bald. Known as the highest peak in Georgia at 4,784 feet. A $5 admission fee, per person and a short ride by shuttle, will take you to the top of the mountain. At the observation deck, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Blairsville, also has some local waterfalls, wineries and state parks for a fun filled day.brbr* Blue Ridge – 1 hour drive - family activities include the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway train, whitewater rafting in the Ocoee river, hiking in the national parks, or just drive around the mountain roads. You will not be disappointed.brbr* Chattanooga TN – is 1.5 hours away and has many attractions such as Ruby Falls, Rock City, Look Out Mountain where you can visit a civil war battle field. Lookout Mountain provides spectacular views of the surrounding states. Accessing Lookout Mountain can be a car ride to the top or the Incline Railway. The Incline Railway is not for the faint of heart. brbr* Want to enjoy the water. Nearby lake communities are Lake Allatoona is a 30 minute drive and Lake Lanier is 1.5 hour drive.
