We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We rented this beautiful property just to have a cozy and relaxing place to sit and visit with family we hadn’t seen in quite some time. We never left the living room, it was so comfortable and inviting. Our host was exceptional with the details of the property, we absolutely loved it.

I've stayed in a lot of nice places but this one far exceeds expectations. The home is absolutely beautiful and the host, Dusty truly thought of every little detail. The intire space including decor and lighting was warm, inviting and perfectly designed throughout the house. Feels like you are in a tree house like atmosphere that makes it feel special. We were lucky enough to see a whole family of deer come right up to the back of the house and drink out of the flowing creek. The sounds of that creek were so relaxing. It's the kind of place you immediately feel comfortable in and don't want to leave. We had so much fun hiking all the trails in the neighborhood absolutely magical. We would absolutely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Shack. The house is beautifully furnished and the layout is great. We especially enjoyed the large fire place with gas starter and lots of firewood provided by the owner. We also liked that there were two dining tables on the main level. We used the large table for meals and the smaller one for puzzles and games. The master suite bathroom is like a spa - love the shower. The game room downstairs was a huge hit. The pool table converts for ping pong which was great. The outdoor sauna was a really nice bonus. We also enjoyed the hiking trail that you can access from the backyard. We've stayed in Big Canoe before at a house up on the ridge and the drive on the windy roads was hard for our elderly parents. The Shack was nice because the drive to the house is more manageable. The owner Dusty was very responsive for any questions that came up. This is a lovely house and I highly recommend it.

Awesome property nestled high in the mountains. We even had a a wood burning fireplace in the living room with ample firewood for our entire stay. Beds were so comfy! Kitchen was well equipped for Thanksgiving meal prep. Two of our family members had some challenges getting from the parking area to the house. While there are five steps into house with a handrail, there were some additional steps on a flagstone walkway that were challenging to navigate. It is a steep driveway, even with pickup trucks. The layout of the house is great and we couldn’t think of anything that we needed that we didn’t have and Dusty was very responsive to our questions.

Absolutely gorgeous property that’s beautifully decorated. The setting feels deep in the woods, overlooking the creek is truly unique and such a great break only 90 minutes from Atlanta. The master suite feels like a spa and the whole floor basement game and entertainment room is so nice. We absolutely recommend this for your next stay in Big Canoe.

We loved all the spaces the house had to offer for our family! The basement game room and outdoor creek areas were perfect! The kitchen was stocked with all the appliances one needs to cook family meals. This was our first time at Big Canoe and we loved all the amenities of the self-contained community! We went on hikes, rented a pontoon boat through the Marina and utilized both the splash pad and Beach Club. Highly recommend for families!

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful Big Canoe property! The home was even better than the pictures- clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. From the peaceful mountain views to the cozy, well-furnished interiors, every detail made us feel right at home. The location was perfect for quality family time. We enjoyed a couple days at the pool, and stopped at some cute local places- pizza, coffee and ice cream. I even had the chance to make my favorite cabbage dish in the spacious kitchen—such a treat! We also loved the extra touches that made the stay special—comfortable beds, great outdoor space, and easy communication with our host. If you’re looking for a relaxing retreat in the mountains with all the comforts of home, this is it.Highly recommend and would definitely return!

We enjoyed the BC stay as always. House is prefect for a large family. Kitchen space is amazing and basement and sauna are as advertised. Only downside is this house is dark and in the woods. So if you are looking for a view and Sun you may want to find a different spot. Hikers will love the back yard and trails that lead you into the big canoe wilderness! Great Spot!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. Dusty, the owner, was incredibly responsive with thorough, accurate info. The basement full of games was perfect for kids/teens. We hiked the backyard trail, panned for gold in the creek, relaxed in hammocks, and made s'mores by the firepit. The golf course was amazing but pricey. The jeep trail led to two gorgeous waterfalls, and Grandpa enjoyed fishing at the lake with the grandkids. The beach club (20/person) offered pool, beach access, volleyball, inflatable obstacle course, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, paddle boats, and rock slide - totally worth it!For dining, stay within the community or visit shops at the north gate. Night Train Pizza was good but slow - plan ahead. Lakeside Bistro had great food at reasonable prices. You won't regret renting this house! The community amenities are fantastic, just expect individual fees for activities. Despite extra costs, we created unforgettable memories. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here over Valentine's Day weekend. It was just the two of us, but this house can definitely hold a large group comfortably. There are 3 levels and plenty of space. It is beautifully decorated with Restoration Hardware furnishings and is extremely cozy. We were fortunate to be visiting when it was cold outside, so we had a constant fire burning and crackling. The owners provided plenty of wood. There are so many activities in and around the house, we simply did not have time to enjoy everything provided. We did squeeze in some great hikes, cooked in the well-appointed kitchen and enjoyed the serenity of the atmosphere. There are some great restaurants nearby, as well as an adorable grocery store. Dusty provides a comprehensive list of everything and was great with communication. On a side note, there was construction going on next door when we were visiting. It wasn't horrible, but we could hear it. We hope to be back for another visit, as this is now one of my new favorite places.

Our family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed the comforts of this house during our week stay. Beds comfy, house temp was consistent, multiple tables…had a puzzle on one the whole time, but still able to eat & play games, pool table, video games, etc. were a hit with all of us. Also, nice trails to meander.

Our stay at the Mountain Stream home was truly magical. Nestled on the edge of a serene forest and bordering a crystal-clear mountain stream, this beautifully remodeled home offered breathtaking views of the trees in the woods from every window. With ample space for our group of seven, including four adults and three children, the game room was a hit and the fire pits provided cozy evenings for s'mores. We spent our days exploring the enchanting woodland trails that led to a nearby lake, making countless trips to soak in the natural beauty. The convenience of having food delivered allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the home and its surroundings. Our weekend getaway was unforgettable, and we can't wait to return to this peaceful paradise.

Brought our family for Fall Break in October. The house was beautiful and had plenty of space for the five of us. The decor is modern, like Restoration Hardware built a home in the woods. The kids loved playing in the creek as well as in the game room. The owner, Dusty, was available for questions and even helped troubleshoot an intern issue. The area, Big Canoe, is filled with amenities. You’ll enjoy staying here.
