brWelcome to our home. It is clean, quiet and filled with light. Located on a street that backs onto the National Forest, you cannot find a more peaceful neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe. A few minutes from town, you have all the benefits of mountain life with easy access to services. brThe house is stocked with high quality towels and linens, and really comfortable beds and pillows. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with lots of original art work on the walls and comfy furniture.brThe kitchen is huge with plenty of cabinets, tiled counters and floor. It is well stocked with utensils and pots and pans and we provide all the paper goods as well as spices, oil, vinegar, sugar and condiments. Our pots, pans and dishes are good quality, we feel there is nothing worse than trying to cook with beat up utensils and cracked dishes. If you want to dine in there is a dining room with an expandable table, and the kitchen also has a large counter with stools for casual eating. There are restaurants and a great pizza place nearby, in case you prefer to spend your time away from the stove.brThe house is wonderful whatever the season.brIn summer, it is bliss to sit outside looking at the mountains with nothing but the sound of the wind in the pine trees, surrounded by a beautifully landscaped yard full of native plants, bushes and trees. Across the street are numerous hiking opportunities, and mountain biking trails, and it is a short drive to the beaches and casinos. A great location to get away from all the craziness but close enough to access the beauty of the Lake. brThe gas BBQ allows for leisurely meals while the sun sets and the trees sing. The stair case leads up to 4 bedrooms. The Masterbedroom is a 500 sf suite with King sized hardwood bed and matching furniture, brand new bedding and matress, large love seat sofa in mountain decor, 55 inch flatscreen tv, water and mountain views, private 2 level deck with glass railings and huge sunbathing furniture island. Ultra luxurious bathroom with multi spray double shower all glass inclosed. The family sized tub is Jacuzzi brand with strong jets. Double sink and all granite finishes. Built-in closets and shelving is Red Birch. The 'Mini-Master' is a large bedroom with Restoration Queen bed, brand new matress and bedding, attached bathroom with shower and high end finishes, private deck overlooking lagoon and mountains and yard. Further down the hallway is the joint bathroom with double sink and bathtub, all newly remodeled. The bunk bedroom has 1 bunk bed with a trendle and another bottom bunkbed with a trendle. This rooms sleeps 5 very comfortably. All beds and bedding and matresses are brand new. The room has lake views and views of Mt. Tallac. The fourth room has an elegant log double bunk bed and sleeps 3 comfortably. This room also has lake views and a walk in closet. brThe main floor bedroom is next to a bathroom with beautiful finishes. The bed is a Queen murphy bed in Red Birch. The room was orignally designed as a dance studio and can be converted easily as such. There is a built in office with granite desk and sliding door access to the back yard.brThe Kitchen is equiped with a commercial Viking range, large stainless steel fridge and all counters are granite with 4-6 bar stool chairs. There is a computer corner with granite desk, large dinning area with Italien designer furniture, fireplace with leather couches, a foosball table, a large seating area of sofas with original art in a very cozy area with a 50 inch flat screen tv.brThe back yard has a large deck wih high end, new Restoration Hardware furniture. The deck overlooks the yard and water. The yard is big enough for family soccer games, there is a hammock for two or more and a hot tub at the waters edge with seating for at least 6. Next is the overwater deck with rod iron table and chairs for 8 (more chairs are in the closet under the stair well next to the computer corner). Next is the 30 ft aluminum ramp leading down the dock, where kayaks are stored in the summer. There is room for a 55 ft boat on the left side, when our boat isn't parked there. There is also room for a 30 ft boat on the right side.brYou will be hard pressed to find a finer home in the Tahoe Keys. There are 8 fairly separate sleeping spaces in the house spanning 6 bedrooms, as two bedrooms have lofted spaces within them (and the Heavenly Woods bedroom is accessed via a door at the back of the Heavenly bedroom). brbrI know that’s a little confusing, so I’ve listed all the sleeping places below, and looking and photos can help understand the bed layout as well. brbrLarge “Heavenly” master bedroom: Queen bed, plus a loft with a queen and twin bed (in-room split bath with jacuzzi tub)br“Heavenly Woods” bedroom: Queen bed. This room is the most private and secluded, but you must walk through the Heavenly bedroom to access it (split bath just outside the door)brSmall “Kirkwood” master bedroom: Queen bed, plus a loft with a twin bunk bed and one queen bed (direct door to shared split bath)brBack “Squaw” bedroom #1: Queen bed (shared bath)brBack “Northstar” bedroom #2: Queen bed (shared bath)brDen: Pull-out couch queen bed that inflates, allowing it to be just as comfortable as a regular bed. If available, additional hours before 4pm or after 11am will be $84/hr for early arrival or late check out. brbr— LOCATION — brWe bought this house first and foremost because of the location. After renting a couple homes in isolated locations, we found ourselves not wanting to drive everywhere. So, we found the Lodge! It's super centrally located and walkable to nearby stores and restaurants -- a rare feature for high-end Tahoe homes. There are 3 major grocery stores within a 15-min walk (six within a 10 min drive!), along with a Bevmo, dozens of great restaurants, multiple breweries, hiking/biking paths, a CVS, a 24-hr hospital and ER, salons, bars, a plant shop and all the other shops the Y area has to offer. Check out my map for a full description of nearby amenities.brbrTo set expectations and avoid surprises, the downside of walkability is that house is in a mixed-use neighborhood (there's a pre-school school, apartment building and an office on the block), and there is a RV park across the street. It's incredibly safe (I once left two $2,500 road bikes in the garage with the garage door open all night), so it's really just an aesthetic issue, with an occasional neighbor playing music you may hear. Typically though, it's the Lodge that's the loudest house on the block :) brbrAdditionally, the backyard feels very private despite many neighbors nearby. Most feel that the tradeoff is worth giving up some privacy and isolation to be able to access so many things by foot, but if you're looking for an isolated home in the woods with no neighbors in sight, I want to be up front that this isn't the place. brbr— ACTIVITIES —brWondering what you'll do while you're in Tahoe We’ve got some great sample itineraries we share with all guests for four different types of trips: 1) family reunion 2) outdoorsy weekend 3) guys weekend and 4) girls weekend. brbrNote: No big events that involve other guests, major furniture needs or catering, like weddings or receptions.

HEAVENLY HOME - Close to slopes and hiking trails

Walk out your door to and walk or bike on hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails in acres of National Forest. brbrEverything in this custom house is premium and over sized. Extra tall walls and vaulted ceilings. Two large decks for al fresco dining and a giant hot tub.brbrThere are three large private master suites — all three have their own bathrooms, two have their own spa tubs. These work great for couples.brbrThere is also a bonus room with two sets of bunk beds (so four twin beds) - This is really only for kids. It's where ours sleep. This room is open to the stairs and does NOT have a door that closes to keep it separate from the upstairs living room. Our kids sleep in this room and have never had issues going to sleep, but that's our kids (probably too tired from skiing and sledding!). This bunk room also doesn't have it's own bathroom, so kids need to use their parents bathroom or the half bath upstairs. brbrLuxury finishes ensure a great stay: hardwood floors, rock fireplace, custom alder wood doors & trim throughout the house.brbrSKIING: House is very close to Heavenly. The California lodge parking is a quick 4 minute drive. Note: there are very few ski in ski out homes at Heavenly. You will need a car and chains or 4x4 in winter!brbrHIKING: There is a terrific loop trail that starts from the house for a good evening walk. Walk out the front door and go up April Drive to the top of the loop. Go left and through the gate. Make a right and follow the trail through the woods. Cross the stream and continue on. When you get to the major intersection where the signs are make a left back towards the house. Follow this trail until reaches Heavenly. There is a great lookout here of the lake and sunset from the top of the rocks.
