Total privacy for creek exploring and star gazing - back to the farm with luxe (and smart) comforts that are all newly remodeled. Except random tractors, there is zero light or sound pollution, and no other domiciles around. At arrival in the valley, it feels really good. You are out there. It can be unnerving for some. Others, like us, crave just this. 15 minutes from shopping and medical in Mountain View, Arkansas, this is multi-generational homestead acreage – still in the family (John Thomas). brbr brbr~ There is abundant wildlife; turkey, deer and even a shy bear in area. Did we mention cows There are cows on the property. Cows go poop and mooo. - they are carefully selected non aggressive cows. brbr brbr~ The whole house is on a well. It's delicious. But this also means that its clarity can change and it has minerals - minerals can leave film. It is filtered and very drinkable, unless after heavy rains. It is 15 minutes from Angler's and Jack’s Resort restaurant and trout Fishing guide services and 15 minutes from shopping, medical in the town that you will fall in love with, MOUNTAIN VIEW ARKANSAS. brbr brbrOther area attractions include North Sylamore Creek - for top notch swimming and smallmouth bass fishing, Ozark Folk Center State Park, Loco Ropes Course (tree top adventures), Arkansas Craft School - all within about 15 minutes. brbr brbrABOUT THE WATER: brbrRocky Bayou is not really a bayou but a spring fed Ozark creek. Its level varies with rainfall, and it runs year round. While it is not known as a fishing destination, we’ve certainly seen smallmouth bass in it. Trout will travel up it in winter floods. There is a special dedicated area for catch and release. It is not located directly in front of the house. We will point you to this very near area about a 5 minute walk away. It is great for hanging out along side the gravel bars AND splashing in - varying pools and riffles - bring some creek shoes. It is not floatable. The Folk Cabin is a secluded 2 Bedroom Modern Cabin with 2 Full Bathrooms located just beyond the Ozark Folk Center. Peaceful wooded setting located at the end of the road yet literally a couple of minutes from downtown. Location, Location, Location! Lost of wildlife in the area and we most always see deer from the front porch swing. The Rock fireplace (electric) in the living room sets the mood for your getaway in the mountains and puts off lots of heat with the heat feature turned on. The living room features an electric recliner as well as a reclining loveseat and sofa with recliners (talk about comfort). The master features a king bed and full bathroom and the second bedroom contains both a queen and full bed. The second full bath is located in the hall. There is a fire area outside with chairs to relax and wood for roasting marshmallows and smores. WIFI and cable TV are also provided as well as a fully stocked kitchen. Full size washer and dryer as well. We've also added a custom firepit with a swinging cowboy cooker grill grate for cooking!!!!

Jack’s Bend is a cozy cabin perched on a bluff just steps from South Sylamore Creek, offering a stone fire pit overlooking the creek, a hammock for two, and a private deck with grill—an ideal getaway in Mountain View. The cabin features one bedroom with a queen bed, a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo, a queen sleeper sofa, and a dining table seating four, and is located in a quiet neighborhood about halfway between Blanchard Springs and Court Square. Guests have private direct access to Sylamore Creek via steep, narrow stone steps, which—along with the bluff-top fire pit—may be unsafe for small children or those with mobility issues; the small landing at the creek does not offer a beach area but is suitable for swimming or launching a float, though the creek is not visible from the cabin. Jack’s Bend serves as a guest cottage to the nearby larger cabin, Jane’s Bend, and while the cabins are not connected, other guests and nearby homes may be present; please inquire if interested in renting both. Access is via a county-maintained gravel road that may be impassable in winter conditions, though most cars (excluding motorcycles) are typically fine. The cabin does not have a dishwasher or washer/dryer, pets are not allowed, and guests must be 25 or older, follow standard check-in/check-out times, maintain quiet hours, and observe all posted rental rules.
