The Kirkwood Cottage carriage house is located 4 blocks off I-630 - just minutes from the VA Med Center, UAMS and Children's Hospitals, in the heart of the business, South Main (SoMa) and River Market districts. brbrThe carriage house is a good choice for business travelers (in addition to fast WiFi, we have a wireless printer there as well), or couples who want a romantic getaway and it is perfect to accommodate your extended stay guests. brbrStay a month or longer for just for half the normal night rate, or stay a week or more and save 10% off the daily rate. Pricing will depend upon length of stay.brbrWe are pet friendly - we have a Yorkie named Bear, who will no doubt greet you when you enter the courtyard.brbrWe have 6 wireless phone chargers. You might have to take your phone out of its case to charge. There is two in each bedroom and two in the living room. brbrWe also have two Alexa dots - one downstairs by the sofa and one upstairs on the coffee station. To listen to your favorite music, just say something like: “Alexa, play classic Christmas music”. Or ask Alexa about what is the weather forecast or where the closest Mexican restaurant is. Two gas log heaters, period light fixtures, and a wood-burning stove add to the historic nature of this upscale 1,470 square foot barn. brbrUpdated features like fast WiFi and two flat panel SmartTV’s with Direct TV, HBO, free Netflix and Amazon Prime (pay-per-view is NOT included; if you choose to rent a movie, please leave payment for it), a large shower in the downstairs bathroom, another full bathroom upstairs, a full size washer and dryer, and quality mattresses in the two adjoining bedrooms ensure you the comfort you deserve. brbrThe kitchen is furnished with a side by side refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, two coffee makers (12 cup and Keurig coffee maker) and self-cleaning oven. Dishes, silverware and utensils are included for your convenience, as well as thick, fluffy towels and linens. We have a second Keurig coffee maker upstairs on the coffee bar. brbrThe enclosed courtyard has a small pond with waterfall and a gas grill, should you want to cook or entertain outdoors. brbrWe also have a crib with changing attachment, children’s eating plates and utensils, a high chair to set on one of the dining chairs. We also have a pop up play pen in the upstairs walk in closet. Iron and ironing board is in that walk in closet too and extra blankets including baby blankets. brbrAutomatic lighting means you never come home to a dark house. brbrThe carriage house is located in the Governor's Mansion historic neighborhood and is great for walking or bike riding, with an active arts and entertainment district just 3 blocks away on South Main. brbrThe River Market is quite close as well, with many restaurants, bars, shopping, and the Clinton Presidential Library. Walgreens, a grocery store and post office are just blocks away.brbrTwo night minimum preferred but will accept single nights. Box is required for your mail, and street parking is available. brbrThere is a substantially thick fire wall between the two units offering peace and tranquility through sound-proofing and safety. brbrRoom-darkening curtains hang in each room. brbrTVs with Roku Streaming services are available in each unit. brbrThe units are heavily insulated, and mini splits are used in each unit to heat and cool, so please keep them between 72F and 78F to help keep utilities at a reasonable level. Controls for the mini splits are located in holsters on the walls for each room the unit is in. Please keep the holsters in their holders, as we do not want to lose these items. The mini splits need monthly servicing to maintain optimal performance, and should your stay be longer than one month, our maintenance crew will need access to the unit to service these mini splits. brbrThe front porch has two ceiling fans that use a shared remote, and each fan is turned on and off from the switch inside the unit it sits in front of. The remote for the fans is located on the front porch in a wall-mounted caddy. The tub faucet also has a diverter for a hand held wand. brbrThe cottage boasts original white oak hardwood floors that are over 150 years old. Please be careful with them as you would your great-grandparents, and do not wear shoes (ex: stilettos) or drop objects on them that could damage the wood. If something does happen (as accidents do), please notify your hosts as soon as possible, so we may have our maintenance crew address the issue promptly. brbrEnjoy access to your own large washer/dryer units inside a laundry closet. Please clean out the dryer's lint filter after each use. brbrThe furnishings and accommodations are curated and inventoried with care. Please take with you at check out only what you brought with you.
