There are many more restaurants in nearby Pine. If you love antiquing or junkin’ we have many options in Strawberry and Pine. Stop by the quaint stores along Hwy 87, in Pine. brThere is a grocery store in Pine, Ponderosa Market, if you need anything or you can head down to Payson and have a few more options, including WalMart. Download the All Trails app for trail maps and information. Fossil Creek, previously closed after a large fire, is now open and is magnificent. Consult All Trails or other reputable trail maps for information. brbrAs you can see, this cabin and community are a part of the forest. Please be careful and responsible to protect this cabin, our neighbors and the wildlife. At this time, we do not have an usable outdoor fire pit. Once we can build one that is safe for you and the forest, we will add that. Within walking distance from the cabin you’ll find the Windmill coffee shop, the Pie Bar, Mama Joe’s Italian restaurant and a couple other restaurants to check out. brbrWhile we love all the dogs, in order to keep the cabin extra clean, we do not allow pets. That said, dogs were allowed in the past so it’s not 100% allergy free in case that’s an issue. br*Gila County STR ordinance allows us to accommodate up to 7 total guests. Come enjoy the outdoors, watch the wildlife walk by and cozy up by the fire-pit and make lasting memories!brbrFossil Woods Getaway is nestled in the quiet community of Strawberry Arizona, right across from the oldest standing schoolhouse in Arizona which was built in 1885. We are situated on a corner lot, just over half an acre, with plenty of space for games, sitting around a fire, and relaxing. Our driveway is circular and can fit multiple cars, quads, razors, side by sides, bikes, etc. So, bring your off road toys, there are many trails to explore in the area.brbrWildlife including elk, deer, javelinas, skunks, foxes, coyotes roam the neighborhood often and do come on our property. Please keep your distance, you will be responsible for all risks and bodily injury that may occur from encounters with wildlife.brbrWe do have a propane grill. If propane tank is empty, we will reimburse you if you fill them up (must provide a receipt). There is a gas station to fill them up down the street in Pine.brbrIn the summer months, we have a swamp cooler to help keep the house cool. Windows will need to be cracked at least 2” to effectively allow cross-ventilation and control of the air flow. It will also help to reduce the amount of humidity and moisture in the home.brbrIn the winter months, we have a central heating. We also have a gas fireplace that can be used year around if need be.brbrPlease be mindful of water usage - Pine/Strawberry are in a severe drought.
