Adjacent to the dining room is a large, fully-stocked, walk-in pantry for all cooking needs. This floor has two bedrooms and one full bathroom. We are furnishing it for our comfort as well as yours! We have tried to create a space that we are proud to rent and you’ll be proud to stay. We have enjoyed finding cabin decor treasures and even framing vintage or vintage-inspired cabin wall art. If you feel like you’re home, our hope is that you’ll become return renters and then part of our cabin legacy. brbrYou may park up to two cars in the front of the cabin and one on the cement driveway (in front of the garage). brbrPlease enjoy the local restaurants right here in Strawberry, such as the Pie Bar, with dozens of flavors of empanadas, served hot all day. There are many more restaurants in nearby Pine. If you love antiquing or junkin’ we have many options in Strawberry and Pine. Stop by the quaint stores along Hwy 87, in Pine. brThere is a grocery store in Pine, Ponderosa Market, if you need anything or you can head down to Payson and have a few more options, including WalMart. Download the All Trails app for trail maps and information. Fossil Creek, previously closed after a large fire, is now open and is magnificent. Consult All Trails or other reputable trail maps for information. brbrAs you can see, this cabin and community are a part of the forest. Please be careful and responsible to protect this cabin, our neighbors and the wildlife. At this time, we do not have an usable outdoor fire pit. Once we can build one that is safe for you and the forest, we will add that. It's peaceful, quiet, you'll rarely see a car go by and almost never anyone walking by. It's surrounded by tall pines, junipers, and oaks.brbrWhen it rains or when snow is melting, the creek flows over the little bridge on the road. It's a quick walk down to it, and a short steep walk back up! brbrIt's a joy to stay here if you love solitude and privacybrbrThe cabin is airy and light, with many amenities to make your stay memorable! The lot is surrounded by tall ponderosa pines, oak, and juniper trees. It is lush and green in the summer, yellow and orange in the fall, and opens up the views in the winter when the leaves are gone.brbrMAIN FLOORbrThere is one large bedroom next to the full bathroom on the main floor, with a top-rated Helix king bed, an adjustable stand-up desk and printer, a 6-drawer dresser, and a large closet with shelves and hangers. Plush robes are provided.brbrThere is a spacious and very well-stocked kitchen with an induction stovetop, microwave, and a big refrigerator that has a built-in water pitcher and makes 2 sizes of ice cubes. It has a large island that makes it easy to all pitch in and prepare meals together. brbrConnected to the kitchen is the living room, which has the most amazing chalet window looking out to the forest. It has comfortable seating, a big Roku TV, and a wood stove to keep you warm October1-May 1. We even provide the wood and some fire starters.brbrLOFTbrAnother sleeping area is in the loft. There is a queen Helix bed there, a dresser, and a half-bath in the loftbr brA twin bed with 3 beanbag chairs and a Roku TV are in the secret hideaway room. See if you can find it! There is a skylight in the room, and for night-time, a lamp that shines stars across the room. An air mattress can be set up, also.brbrThere is a twin bed in the nook of the downstairs living room. In addition to an extra place to sleep, it can be used as a day bed for a nice nap or for watching the Roku TV. brbrOUTSIDEbrThe front porch runs along the width of the cabin. On the partially covered porch, there are several seating choices, and a pub table for two to enjoy lunch outside. Put some black-oil sunflower seeds out and squirrels, chipmonks, and birds will come once they get used to you. There is also a propane grill on the porch.brbrThere is a 6-seat dining table outside in the yard for enjoying al fresco meals. In the open area of the yard, you can sit outside and enjoy a propane fire, or turn off all the lights and have the most amazing star experience you can imagine. Truly, it's magnificent.brbrImportant: Before you arrive, you will be asked to complete info for a damage waiver through third-party provider Truvi. They will contact you via email and/or text to complete the process. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in. You'll need 4wd or chains if it's snowy, but other than that, a regular sedan can easily make it up the hill.brbrIn the winter, we get can sometimes get a lot of snow and the county doesn't plow it. If we can't clear it or get someone to clear it, you'll need 4WD and/or chains to get up the hill and down the driveway. It's unpredictable how much and when we’ll get snow, and can't promise that it will be clear. brbrYou may want to consider travel insurance from November through March since we don’t refund based on weather and closed highways and roads. We recommend travel insurance anytime, really. Airbnb has an option for it.brbrThere is no fenced yard for your dogs, and we don’t allow you to tether them when you are not with them. Keep your pooches safe, don’t leave them alone outside. That goes for young children as well, there is a steep ravine that runs along the side of the lot.br1. I'm ok with vaping outside away from open windows, but no cigarettes. Check with me about cigars. During dry summer months I will say no to all smoking. Our insurance won't allow it and you'll be fined if evidence of smoking is found.brbr2. No loud parties or amplified music at any time of day.brbr3. Only the guests who are booked may be at the house. If you want to have visitors, just let me know in advance. There may be an additional fee depending on the conditions. We are situated on a corner lot, just over half an acre, with plenty of space for games, sitting around a fire, and relaxing. Our driveway is circular and can fit multiple cars, quads, razors, side by sides, bikes, etc. So, bring your off road toys, there are many trails to explore in the area.brbrWildlife including elk, deer, javelinas, skunks, foxes, coyotes roam the neighborhood often and do come on our property. Please keep your distance, you will be responsible for all risks and bodily injury that may occur from encounters with wildlife.brbrWe do have a propane grill. If propane tank is empty, we will reimburse you if you fill them up (must provide a receipt). There is a gas station to fill them up down the street in Pine.brbrIn the summer months, we have a swamp cooler to help keep the house cool. Windows will need to be cracked at least 2” to effectively allow cross-ventilation and control of the air flow.
