From our home in Meadview you have a view of the back of the Grand Canyon, with many beautiful unique Joshua Trees right on the property. Grand Canyon West (Skywalk) is about 30-40 minutes away. They have many attractions at Skywalk. Walk the glass panels on the Skywalk. Fly over the canyon in a helicopter or on a zipline. Float down the Colorado River on a river tour.brbrMeadview does not have a grocery store, however there is a small market Meadview Market where you can get meats, produce dairy and frozen foods. They are closed on Tuesday. There is also a Family Dollar and Gas and Grub where you can get staples and some frozen food, milk, eggs and dairy and some produce. brbrThere are 3 places to eat in town. The Boathouse has really good food and a terrific breakfast and Anchor Smokehouse has pizza, most nights a buffet and smoked meats. There is also a sandwich/frozen custard shop called the WaffleCone that has sandwiches, pizza, frozen custard (like ice cream) They are all really good. br brOur kitchen is fully stocked with pretty much everything you would need to cook a delicious meal. Pots & Pans, dishes, plates, silverware, baking pans etc. Their are a few things in the cabinets, however if you plan to cook, please be prepared with your own food. There is a coffee in the refrigerator. Creamer can be purchased at Family Dollar. (sometimes their is some there if so you are welcome to use it). There are a few spices and I try to keep some Olive Oil on hand for you to use. Also, there is pancake mix and Syrup just in case you decide to cook some breakfast. You are welcome to use anything that is there. brbrThere is plenty of parking so your welcome to bring your boat or RV. brbrThere is a gas BBQ on the patio. We Enjoy the Sunset as we barbeque on the patio. brbrThere is a firepit and some firewood in the yard that you are free to use. Please be respectful to the neighbors.

Fantastic view of the Grand Wash Cliffs in the beautiful Joshua Tree high desert, centrally located between Lake Mead (South Cove boat launch is closed due to low water), the Colorado river and the Skywalk / Grand Canyon West.brbrThe Grand Canyon South Rim, Village and North Rim are over 200 miles away. It is a beautiful drive on the famous Rte. 66 from Kingman to Seligman, but it takes at least 4 hours to get to the South Rim.brbrFor same or next day bookings please contact me, might be able to accommodate you.brbrFor little ones: Play 'n Pack and baby gate.brbrAccessibility: Front and back door parking, entry steps are 2 pavers, no steps inside, and the master bath has pull bars by the toilet.brbrAside from the Skywalk (about 45 minutes from the house), this is NOT a tourist area and even on holiday weekends it's rather quiet around here. Meadview has two restaurants, a bar, the Gas n Grub (wine and beer), Family Dollar, Ma's Market (some produce), a little post office, and not much more.brbrI love living in the desert, watching the sunsets, the stars, and the Milky Way. In spring the wildflowers and cacti may be in full bloom if we get enough winter rains. brbrIf you drive an SUV or a car with good clearance, you can go on a number of dirt roads for magnificent views. But even the smallest rental car will get you to Lake Mead, the Colorado River, and the Skywalk.brbrMany guests enjoy watching the countless birds, rabbits, and quail (I leave water out for them), but be careful where you step -- we do have rattlesnakes here.brbrWe have brochures for local attractions such as old mining towns, etc. As a resident since 2000, I'll be happy to give you lots more info. brbrTHE HOUSE:brbrEnjoy this sparkling clean and spacious home with 3 bedrooms and a twin mattress in the master bedroom closet that can be moved to the living room. The new sectional is light, can easily be moved apart and all cushions are removable for extra sleeping space.brbrThe living room has a 42 TV (HDMI etc. and Phoenix channels), DVD player, Bluetooth speaker, and of course, there's WIFI. An android compatible TV and DVD player are in the master bedroom. brbrI provide organic condiments and staple foods like spaghetti are available for purchase in the Cash Pantry.brbrYou'll find beach towels, blankets, coolers and folding beach chairs in the hallway closets.brbr4 folding chairs are in the laundry area.brbrGUEST ACCESS:brbrGuests may use the entire house. Outside are a propane bbq, patio table and chairs so you can enjoy our beautiful sunrises and sunsets outdoors. Feel free to move additional chairs outside and be comfortable -- enjoy your stay!brbrIMPORTANT NOTES:brbrThis is the high desert with hot days, cold nights and often strong winds. Please bring clothing for any weather. We are around 3700 ft. elevation, but Lake Mead and the Colorado river are much lower, around 1200 ft. and on sunny days it's warmer at the lake and river. Winter daytime temperatures are usually in the 50s - 60s, but it does freeze at night frequently.brbrThe closest supermarket is in Kingman -- 60 miles away. Meadview has a Family Dollar store and Ma's Market sells produce. The Gas N Grub sells beer, wine and ice cream.
