Mt Rainier & White Pass Family Getaway + Hot Tub

Our little adventure getaway is in as good a location as they come! We have the community golf course and pools directly out the front doors, your own private hot tub and huge fire pit out back with the national forest and hiking trails literally accessible from the backyard, and the beautiful Cowlitz river swimming hole minutes away. With Mt. Rainier National Park entrance 17 minutes away and White Pass ski resort just 30 minutes out, our little slice of heaven boasts year round adventures!brThe spacebrOur mountain retreat has plenty of space for a big family gathering, groups of friends and still feels cozy enough for a romantic get away for 2. The house is best suited for 6-8 adults + 2-4 kids, depending how friendly y'all are ;) Sleeps up to 10. The spacious and bright living room has a larger couch, love seat and a couple chairs, and flat screen with Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, Amazon Prime Video, and our great DVD collection, not to mention plenty of space to spread out and enjoy our extensive game collection for cozy nights in.brbrThe dining room has a large circular table with a center lazy Susan and a view of the golf course. The kitchen has plenty of storage in the cabinets and is fully equipped with all you need to cook up a storm. Feel free to enjoy use of condiments and seasonings, coffee and teas. For the other coffee lovers out there, we are equipped with all the things; the milk frother for your lattes or hot cocoa, pour over, and coffee pot. And for the fellow tea lovers we have loose leaf and bagged tea, and a tea pot :). You are all set for coziness!brbrIn the backyard, you will find a huge fire pit with custom wood benches around it, a rustic outdoor bar area, our 7 person hot tub and lawn chairs, all lit up by our sweet outdoor twinkle lights! We also have a covered deck with patio furniture and a table for nice nights outside. If you walk to the edge of the backyard, you will see our marked mini trail, which links up to a much longer beautiful trail that goes for miles through the national forest and all the way up towards Rainier if you hike long enough. It is an easy 6 minute walk on this trail to a beautiful, small and peaceful waterfall where you can enjoy your morning coffee.brbrSleeping ArrangementsbrbrThere is a large master bedroom with a king size bed. This room is attached to a good sized master bathroom. There is another room with a Queen bed and a third flex room with a very comfortable futon that converts to a queen bed. The futon is quite comfortable on its own but we also provide a memory foam topper for those who prefer it. The flex room currently has 2 doorways with floor to ceiling barn doors for privacy but not an official door.brbrThe second full bath is just outside these 2 rooms. Finally there is a cute little unattached bunk house in the back yard with a covered walkway to the house. The skiers bunk house is covered completely on the inside with pine shiplap and is very cute and cozy. It is fully insulated and heated and sleeps up to 4 with a full over full bunk bed. The bunk house will be left locked for parties 6 and under unless otherwise discussed. If you are 6 and under, but would like to use the bunkhouse, there is a $50 fee for your entire stay to help pay for the extra time, cleaning, and laundry that our cleaner has to complete.brbrThe owners of this home are Amaris and Sean and you can trust that we have appointed it, with the forethought of making sure it would become a place we are excited to stay. For our guests, this means, a well stocked kitchen, good coffee and tea supplies, all beds and linens being comfortable, and nicely done décor. We bought this first as a place for our families to enjoy but wanted to open it to Airbnb guests as well to share the experience. With 2 full standard bedrooms, a large sleeping loft, and a game and entertainment room, this cabin can sleep up to 11 people. The master bedroom has a king bed, there is a queen in the other bedroom, and then a queen and 2 twins in the loft with an extra twin if needed, which is sectioned off for sound and more privacy. There is a queen futon and sofa bed in the rec room, both have foam toppers you can add. (Please note - there are not 4 separate bedrooms, but two bedrooms, a separated loft, 2 complete bathrooms, and rec room with a tv and 2 queen size sleeping options!) The beautiful deck off of the kitchen comes with a gas BBQ and plenty of outdoor patio seating, complete with night time twinkle lights. A new seven person hot tub has been recently added to the property, and we also have a hammock, swing and zipline in the back yard. The mudroom on the bottom floor has plenty of space to store your ski or hiking gear. The rec room on the bottom floor has a 50 4K TV with good speakers, a foosball table and a mini fridge to keep your drinks cold. There is also an extra fridge in the garage area. The cabin sits steps away from the the river front, for excellent fishing and hiking by the Cowlitz river.brbrThe open space living room comes equipped with a cast iron wood burning stove, a brand new Italian leather sectional couch, a 32 flat screen TV with BOSE surround sound, a dvd player (with a fully stocked film collection), HD Smart TV, and a table with seating for up to 10 people. From the living room you can gaze out of the floor to ceiling windows that encompass a whole side of the A-Frame to admire the beautiful forest and river beyond. The cabin comes all ready with plenty of wood for the fireplace, already chopped and ready to be burned. The kitchen comes fully stocked with pots, pans, spices, coffee and latte bar, and kitchen utensils.brbrThe cabin has been recently outfitted with a high efficiency 80 gallons hot water heater so you can have plenty of hot showers after a long day on the slopes. The cabin also comes with air conditioning for those hot summer days.brSummer renters can also access the community's swimming pool and 9 holes golf course for a small fee ($10pp swimming pool and $40pp to play golf for the day as many times as you like, to be paid at the club house, approximately 1.5 miles from the cabin).brbr*** I am including this year because we receive numerous requests to use this cabin as a wedding venue for small weddings and elopement. Beautiful, spacious, light filled home in a private peaceful setting with no close by neighbors, and still within close proximity to year round activities. The backyard backs up to national forest with a huge trail network and trails right from the yard that can take you to a great waterfall, and out the front is a 5 minute walk to community pool and golf course. Mt Rainier 14 miles, White pass skiing 20 miles, and national forest trails, and gorgeous Cowlitz river all right there.brThe spacebrOur home is sitting on over half an acre and surrounded by beautiful trees and forest for ultimate peace and privacy.brIn the backyard, there’s a great fire pit, and trails that go right from the backyard all through the national forest leading you to a waterfall - just a 5 minute hike behind the cabin. There is a great system of trails right from the back yard to hike, cross country ski or snowshoe.brbrWhen you walk inside the house, you will notice all the light in the high-vaulted ceilings in the living room. There’s a big new wood stove with lots of firewood and kindling for a cozy fire after skiing. The fireplace is surrounded by U shaped sectional couch, large enough for the whole family, and breakfast bar and a spacious kitchen that’s equipped with everything you could possibly need to cook up a storm. Since we are coffee lovers, you can expect to find all the essentials, A pour- over, milk froth, coffee pot and hot water kettle for tea as well as an assortment of teas and coffee.brbrOur home is a short drive to the East Entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park where you will find amazing vistas, a trail to the Grove of the Patriarch's - a scenic 1.5 mile loop a through towering thousand year old cedars that will take you across a beautiful suspension bridge. Continuing up the Mountain to Paradise or Sunrise you will be treated to awesome views in 360 degrees of snow capped mountains, glaciers, and prolific wildflowers.brbrYou may see elk in our back yard or in the forest behind your bedroom.brGuest accessbrCommunity pool - the High Valley Country Club is a five minute walk where for a small fee ($10) you can swim all day in 3 pools, which include showers and changing rooms.brbrCommunity golf course - Adjacent to the pools is a delightful 9 hole course that has an inexpensive green fee of $40 if you register in advance. Details, photos are on the High Valley Country Club (Packwood) web sitebrbrForest trails miles of forest trails leave right from our back yard all the way into Mt Rainier National Park and through the National Forest.brbrRiver - The High Valley community is on the banks of the Cowlitz River which cuts a meandering mile wide course through the valley with huge trees uprooted by melting glaciers from the mountain.
