The front door opens into a galley kitchen with a two element electric cooktop, under counter refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and a good selection of kitchen utensils and equipment. The bathroom is compact and includes a shower.brbrbrbrA separate door from the main room opens onto a small deck with a propane BBQ grill and a pair of Adirondack chairs, with a picnic table nearby. Cuddle up by the woodstove & enjoy the warmth in this tastefully decorated studio style cabin w/ everything you need to enjoy your stay. Enjoy year round private access to The Lost River. Bring a picnic, there is a picnic table to sit at and enjoy the amazing views. brSummertime; bring your hiking shoes, kayaks, fishing poles, bikes, ATV's or climbing gear. We are minutes away from Goat Wall and the entrance to Harts Pass. In the wintertime; bring your snow mobiles, skis & sleds, all outdoor activities are nearby. If there is enough snow you can nordic ski right out of the cabin.brbrVisit the Mazama bakery for their delicious treats & coffee or grab a bottle of wine & dinner from the Mazama store.brbrThe space:brThe log cabin and bunk house are absolutely adorable and ready for you to relax, unwind, unplug, and enjoy.brThe cabin is studio style, tastefully decorated and offers everything you need. A fully stocked kitchen, couch and chair, and king-size bed with a separate enclosed bathroom. Lots of blankets and cozy pillows. Luxury towels and washcloths are provided. There is a woodstove in the cabin, firewood is provided. Outdoor fires are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED.brbrA barbeque grill and a 4 top table and chairs are located on the front deck along with a propane fire pit. Cook your dinner and sit and enjoy view of the mountains and sounds from the nearby river.brThe kitchen area has a refrigerator with a built in wine rack, sink, cooktop, microwave, toaster, instapot, air fryer, french press, Kuerig and a popcorn maker. (no oven) Dishes and utensils are provided. Dish towels, dish soap, 409 cleaning spray, broom and vaccum are provided. There is a Bose speaker you can connect to and a smart TV with satellite service. brbrThe bunk house is detached from the cabin and is cozy and cute. It has a queen size bed, sitting chair, night stands, and lamps. ( available upon request) For stays less than 5 nights, there is an additional $25 a night fee for use of the bunkhouse. (which covers the additional linens and cleaning fees)brbrPets are allowed. We do charge a $50 PER pet fee. If you're booking is accepted with more than one pet, after confirmation, your charges will be updated accordingly.brbrEasy access to Harts Pass, NORDIC skiing in Mazama, just 7 miles away, or downhill skiing at Loop Loop ski area 37 miles to the east, a 45 minute drive.brbrIf you haven't experienced the North Cascade Highway please be prepared for long stretches without cell coverage. Coverage stops at New Halem and starts again right before the turn off of hwy 20 to Mazama. Coverage will also be spotty on the 6.8-mile drive to the cabin. For calls while at the cabin, you need to turn on wifi calling. The wifi username and password are available inside the cabin.brbrGuest accessbrMain cabin with king-size bed and bathroom. If requested, access can be available to the bunk house.brWe do allow pets on approval. If approved the fee is $50 per pet. br.brNOTE: The cabin is in the woods, at the base of the North Cascade NP. Expect extreme weather in summer and winter and bugs in the summer too. It is located in the Lost River Airport Association approximately 6.8 miles from the Mazama store. There is wifi. Wifi UN and PW are inside the cabin. To make and receive calls guests need to turn on wifi calling.brPlease be aware the cabin is in the woods! Expect and prepare for extreme weather conditions year round. This includes heavy snow and possible power outages. You will be 7 miles from the nearest store.brPlease be aware of wildlife, and please do not feed the animals. There are deer and bear in the area. All garbage must always be kept inside the home. We do ask you to take your garbage to the community dumpster when you leave, we need to do this to keep pests at bay.

Great for beating the crowds and snagging a trailhead parking spot at peak seasons.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrNearest winter trail is the Goat Wall Loop, passing in front of the cabin, while in summer Country Road takes you to the Mazama trail hub. The Mazama Store is 500 yards / 5 minutes walk. Winthrop is 14 miles / 18 minutes drive. brbrbrbrGETTING HEREbrbrMay to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. The nearest major airports are Spokane International Airport at 180 miles (year round) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (190 miles in summer / 260 miles in winter).
