In the last few years, Black Bears in Mexico have been recolonizing their native Texas hill country habitat of the 1800's. As a protected species, our Real County Game Wardens are tagging and cataloging these bears as well as monitoring their numbers. Mountain lions and wild hogs share the land with us as well. Respect all wildlife and keep a healthy distance from them. Do not attempt to feed or interact with them.
