The Nest sleeps 2 in a queen-sized bed and offers a bathroom/shower combo. The sitting area (loveseat & smart TV) and kitchenette offer everything you need for a quick weekend or extended visit.
Outside you’ll find a cozy front porch with some lounge chairs, and down the steps are a couple of Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, a Weber charcoal grill, and a picnic table under the trees for dining al fresco.

Wanting more of an active getaway Head down to Garner State Park for some stand up paddle boarding, hiking up Old Baldy (elevation 1840ft), and stay for the storied dance that’s happened nightly during summer months since the 1940s. Or head over to Lost Maples for excellent hiking with trails for every level of hiker, and where in the fall you can check out the prehistoric Maple trees and their gorgeous fall foliage.

-Neal's Dining Room - 27 miles

-The Sisters are a connecting trio of Texas county roads, Ranch-to-Market Roads (RM) 335, 336, and 337, that form a 100-mile loop around some of the prettiest country Texas has to offer.
Please note our section of the river here is not suitable for tubing or kayaking, but if you’d like to go, both Leakey and Concan offer several river outfitters. We recommend Happy Hollow just south of Leakey and Andy’s on River Road in Concan where you can rent tubes and kayaks and enjoy 2-way shuttle service.
Not a summer outdoors person We still have some thing for you. Leaf watchers love us in the fall and snowbirds love to use our cabins as a getaway in the winter. Our area is also great for birders as birds and monarch butterflies migrate through our area year round.
A beautiful destination anytime of year!
Absolutely beautiful little getaway. Perfect for me and my bestfriend. We loved it. Will be returning !!
My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in this charming cabin. The cabin itself was a delight – cozy, immaculately clean, and boasting a comfortable bed, exactly as depicted in the photos. We were particularly enchanted by the surrounding scenery. Visiting in fall, we were treated to a picturesque display of changing tree colors, complemented by superb weather. One of the highlights of our stay was the spectacular stargazing at night. Away from the city lights, the sky revealed a breathtaking tapestry of stars, adding a touch of magic to our evenings. One minor setback, unrelated to the cabin, was our inability to access the Lost Maple Area Park due to a lack of reservation. However, this turned into an unexpected adventure as we explored nearby towns, finding joy in the unexpected. The river in front of the property added to the cabin's allure, although it was too cold for a dip and the rocky terrain made walking challenging. Overall, our anniversary stay was a blend of tranquility, beauty, and a touch of adventure. The cabin provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration, and the surrounding area, despite some accessibility issues, offered delightful surprises. It was a reminder that sometimes the road less traveled, or in our case, the path un-hiked, leads to memorable experiences. I would recommend this cabin to anyone seeking a serene getaway with the potential for spontaneous exploration and enchanting night skies.
Compact lodging that provides all that's needed. Dorm sized refrigerator. Nice queen bed with chenille accents. Bird decor. Comfortable mini-split a/c. Several steps from parking to porch. Lovely space to sit outdoors. River is nearby, but tread with care if you're not steady of foot. Enjoy the scenic drives!
Peaceful place to get away from the city life. Access to the river should be maintained. But it's a walking distance if you can't drive your vehicle to the river. Just have a dolly to haul your stuff.
This tiny cabin is a bit off the beaten path, making it perfect as a get-a-way. We enjoyed relaxing in the river, reading on the porch, star gazing, and cooking sausage, bacon and even eggs on the grill. We met the nicest folks in the cabin next door - an unexpected pleasure. Christy has made the cabin so welcoming! Everything is comfortable and well designed. There was even a box of supplies available for painting rocks. I had so much fun painting one morning while there was a light rain. River access was great. There is a small set of rapids and a waist deep area to take a dip. We loved being able to bring our dog. He had a great time as well! We will be back.
The view was amazing! The river was only a short distance away from the cabin
The directions host sent in email were much appreciated as internet unavailable much of the road from town to the cabin. The cabin was cozy with lovely simple decor. Though small, the cabin was stocked with everything we needed and a few unexpected items such as kettle and tea assortment and even a wine bottle opener! The abundant wildflowers and short walk down path to shallow riverbed made for enjoyable nature walk. We enjoyed our little getaway to the Nest.
Newly built cabin, cute like a small hotel room.
Overall very happy with my stay. No issues or concerns. Exactly as stated in listing.
