More fun than renting a beachfront house because your car or truck carries all the gear - sun canopy, coolers, chairs, toys, float tubes, towels, dogs, grill, fishing poles, etc. Park near the sand dunes and set up your shaded camp just feet from the rolling surf. The house has two layers of siding plus new Pella double pane windows and patio door. This makes it very quiet inside when you shut all the doors and windows. Or open everything up and it feels like an giant umbrella at the shore. One bedroom has a Queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. The futon in the living room folds down to a full size bed. This is a no smoking home inside, but with lots of covered outside places to take a puff.brbrThe neighborhood is very quiet because Dolphin Lane ends in a cul-de-sac one block away, so there's never any fast cars. The streets are very safe for biking, scooters, skateboards and walking. Mature tall palm trees rustle in the sea breeze while you relax on the front or rear deck. Each deck has a stairway. The neighborhood is mostly homeowners and is very quiet and private. The driveway is huge... you could park two 40ft motor homes side by side, plus a couple of cars.brbrThe house has central air and heat. And lots of screened windows for those cool spring and fall days. The prevailing sea breeze blows straight into the front door and out the back door and windows. The kitchen and the living room have vaulted ceilings; and each has a big skylight that makes it feel like you are outside with the sun moving across the room making it bright and cheery.brbrThe front deck has 6 chairs that won't blow away. Half the front deck has a roof for shade and the other half is great for private sunbathing or stargazing. The view of the Inter coastal Waterway from the front deck is entrancing when a big tug boat motors through or a fast deep-sea fishing boat skims by. The rear deck looks at the sunset, and the canal. The neighbors have fishing boats docked in their back yard! The dock has a light for safety. brbrThe owners Bruce and Debbie have run a Bed & Breakfast in Lake Jackson for years and the family does all the maintenance and cleaning and disinfecting. Enjoy the open concept living room & dining area, large chefs kitchen island w/ large peninsula w/ 8 bar stools, a sitting area w/ private TV & Drum bay view & private yard. A short walk to bay or beach access.brbrI personally designed and built this home myself for my wife and three kid's to feel open with lots of natural light. Its a family retreat spot for my family and I hope it is one for your family as well! Beach access is a 7 minute walk or a short drive. The Beach access is free and you can drive your car directly on the beach, just be careful for soft sand if you don't have a 4x4 vehicle. Drum bay is a 1 minute walk, and there is a private boat/kayak launch. The home was built with all of the modern conveniences and decorated for relaxation. Weather you want to enjoy a cup of coffee on the ocean side balconies that are 15 feet by 35 feet long which features plenty of seating and tables for enjoyment, watch a movie on the 75 smart t.v. in the living room, or escape to enjoy a sun set on the west side balcony 12 feet by 12 feet which features 4 high chairs with cup holders (watch out for those sunsets in the afternoon, they are amazing). Kids can enjoy a toy area close to the working space. The chefs kitchen features a new LG electric oven and stove top and seats 8 stools on the island and peninsula. Enjoy happy hour with a mini bar drink close to bay balcony door. The private sitting area on the 2nd floor has an one of a kind view of the bay/intercoastal canal. It also has a 55 smart t.v. to enjoy your favorite show. All three bedrooms upstairs have there own private bathroom with walk in shower. Also all bedrooms upstairs have a 40 smart t.v. in each bedroom to enjoy. Escape to the upper ocean side balcony to find (2) Colombian Hammocks and a swing to relax and listen to the surf. Also don't forget the 1st drive up level that features a private outdoor shower with hot and cold water, picnic table, BBQ grill and cornhole game for the those exciting moments.brbrA few fun facts: brI purchased the land in July of 2023, and began construction January 2024. I was determined to build a home on the Texas Gulf Coast. I surveyed the entire coast line and studied it from Galveston to south padre island. I then asked my wife where she wanted to have the home, and she said Galveston over south padre. So Galveston is was and we settled on freeport. brMy sister from Minnesota decorated the entire home. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and closet. brbrThe chef's kitchen is equipped with pots, pans and everything you need to cook a gourmet meal including spices and cooking oil. We provide coffee, tea and accoutrements for your enjoyment. We also have an array of games for the kids to play and are set up for the little ones too, including a pack and play for smaller infants and toddlers.
