Shuttles run back and forth during the high season every day and most weekends during the off season (we do not run shuttles in the winter however and shuttles must be scheduled ahead of time). Our section of the river is very family friendly and has no dangerous dams or rapids. It’s a great place for beginners to kayak and just about anyone can tube. We provide free life jacket use for non or weak swimmers.brbrNeighborhood descriptionbrWe are located in the country, but we are easy to get to. There isn't much in the immediate area as far as restaurants and shopping so it's best to bring your own food and plan to cook and BBQ. We do have a convenience store and Dollar General located a few miles away as well a local favorite restaurant called Franks. A little further out you will find some of the best BBQ in the state in both Lockhart and Luling! If you head to Lockhart try Smitty's or Black's BBQ in Luling the place to go is City Market! Blue Lotus winery is also not far away as well as BS Brewery.

The Bunkhouse is one of 4 vacation rentals on a 60 acre property of rolling hills on the edge of the Texas Hill Country. The house sits on top of one of the highest hills in the area so from there you have fantastic views of the countryside. Just outside the yard fence cows are grazing. Come sit on the porch swing and enjoy the fresh air and ever-present breezes. Surrounding the house are ancient live oaks which have lived there since before the German immigrants who settled the area arrived in the mid 1800's. And even though you are in the quiet of the country it is only a few minutes to the towns of New Braunfels, Seguin or San Marcos. All three offer visitors a variety of attractions plus many restaurants, shops and recreational opportunities. And in just about 30 to 45 minutes you can drive to San Antonio or Austin and enjoy all that those cities have to offer.brThe house has 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed plus there is a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. The kitchen and living/dining areas provide a nice open space to gather. There is a separate utility room with washer and dryer. On the wrap-around porch are picnic tables, chairs and a porch swing. A charcoal grill is provided. A small fenced yard is a good place for your pets or children to play. But you can also enjoy the ample space outside the yard fence!brbr
