Beautiful Tiny Cabin Near Lake Nantahala and the Great Smoky Mountains

Topton, North Carolina, United States

This unique tiny cabin, nestled in the Nantahala National Forest, is located right off the shores of beautiful Lake Nantahala. Although small, this cabin offers all the comforts of home. Each cabin on the property has a queen-sized bed that can sleep two adults plus a futon upstairs and a plush, comfy sofa downstairs. Our cabins also have a full bathroom with shower, kitchenette with a coffee maker, stove top, mini fridge, and microwave, outdoor seating, gas barbecue, and a fire pit.brbrAlong with your comfy cabin experience, the area surrounding Wayah Ridge Escapes is a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts. With the Nantahala River and Lake Nantahala nearby, adventure is at your doorstep with access to boating, fishing, jet skiing, hiking, white-water rafting, and more.brbrAlthough we love to fire up the grill with some BBQ fixins, our favorite eatery is just a mile down the road from the cabins at Lake's End; we have a particular fondness for the unique dish they've created with fried green tomatoes. They're open throughout the peak season from April - November and they stay packed because the food is consistently good. brbrWe love the peace and serenity of our mountain hideaway in the forest where you can disconnect from it all. However, Nantahala offers a multitude of activity for the adventurous at heart. Catch a Lamborghini car club roar through Wayah Road, lounge at Lake's End to boat watch, or take a guided, scenic UTV tour through the forest to find majestic views unreachable by car; there's so much to do while you always have the option to do nothing but relax, rest, and restore.brbrBonus family favorite for us: Misty, mountain mornings with a freshly brewed cup of coffee on the deck. Ahh, we can hear the birds chirping now in the crisp, clean morning air.

Romantic & Secluded Adventure Log Cabin w/ HOT TUB + Amazing Mountain Views

Topton, North Carolina, United States

We can't adequately describe how peaceful it is to soak in the Hot Tub on the deck of our little Tiny Home Log Cabin and listen to the birds and the wind rustle through the trees, while watching the sun set turn the sky pink and purple over the Smokey Mountains. Not having cell reception or wifi allows our guests to truly disconnect in order to reconnect with their loved ones. With the Nantahala National Forest literally as our back yard, this little log cabin is the perfect secluded nature getaway! After getting one of the best night’s sleep you've ever had in our pillow top bed, you'll have the energy to go Hiking, Fly Fishing and White Water Rafting on the Nantahala River, or Water Skiing on the glassy waters of the Nantahala Lake. Hikers will love the easy access to the Appalachian and Bartram Trails as well as discovering a secret Swimming Hole and Cliff Diving oasis. Other local activities also include mountain biking, kayaking, hunting, golfing, swimming, sight-seeing, and more. Our guests are also welcome to use our kayaks and canoe to explore Nantahala Lake! And when it rains, we've got some DVD’s and games at the cabin to enjoy. brbrThe cabin is stocked with everything you'd have at your own kitchen, including a coffee pot, basic spices, and a propane grill on the deck (propane provided). The quaint little towns of Andrews and Murphy are just a short drive away if you don’t want to cook your own meals, or if you forget your favorite fishing lure. While you're welcome to scour the woods around the cabin for firewood to enjoy at the brick firepit - you're not going on vacation to become a lumberjack - so we recommend you pick up a bundle of dry wood at the Ingles Grocery store in Andrews on your way to the cabin.br brOur amazing guests continually tell us how peaceful and therapeutic it is to stay at our cabin. They mention having great plans to visit touristic attractions and outdoor adventures - but are so lured by the peace and beauty of the surroundings of the cabin and the hot tub that they end up spending most the day kicked back on the deck enjoying the view or sitting around the fire pit fascinated by the stars that illuminate the night sky. brbrNOTE: While mountain roads are sometimes steep and curvy they are well maintained paved roads and completely accessible all the way to our driveway. From there, we have gone to great lengths to make the cabin as accessible as possible, but our GRAVEL driveway is EXTREMELY steep. Therefore, we REQUIRE all guests to either have 4WD or AWD vehicles in order to drive up the driveway! If you don’t have such a vehicle, not to worry, you will enjoy the adventure of parking at the bottom and hiking up. This is a typical request for mountain cabins and not an unreasonable expectation, unless you're unwilling to hike our 800 ft. driveway. NOTE: IF YOU CHOOSE TO IGNORE THIS WARNING, YOU WILL PAY FOR THE DAMAGES TO THE DRIVEWAY AND YOUR VEHICLE, BECAUSE YOU WILL GET STUCK!brbrRenting Online: If you're reading this then you're ahead of the game when it comes to online renting. We have tried to make the process as simple as possible. Feel free to call us at any time if you have any questions about the process. If you're ready - just continue with the INSTANT BOOKING option. Once we have received confirmation of the payment you will receive a detailed set of directions to the cabin which also include the 'key box code' for entry into the cabin and a VERY detailed guide to all of our favorite activities in the area.brbrFinal note: This cabin is REMOTE by US standards - so be prepared for no cell service, no TV, no WIFI, and no one bothering you! It's the way a vacation should be!!!br

Private Lakefront Hideaway with Dock!

Topton, North Carolina, United States

This is a two-bedroom, one and one-half bath, waterfront cabin directly on Lake Nantahala. The views of the mountains and lake are incredible; the pictures here do not do it justice. This property is not by any means a luxury resort; however, if you are looking for a clean, well maintained, waterfront property with beautiful views in close proximity to Lake Nantahala, the Appalachian Trail, Wayah Bald, Whitewater Rafting and countless outdoor pursuits in Western North Carolina, this place is for you! brbrWe have had this cabin in our family for upwards of 70 years and would love to share it with you. There is a fully stocked kitchen, two bedrooms, one and a half baths, a living area with fireplace, and a dining room and large deck with porch swing from where you see beautiful views of Nantahala Lake and the surrounding mountains. While Summer and Spring are great for water sports, rafting, hiking, vacationing, etc - spending some time up here in the Fall with the changing leaves and cool nights is spectacular!!brbrWe have a dock on the lake from which there have been several generations that have enjoyed fishing, swimming and sunbathing here on the lake. While there is not a boat included, kayaks, canoes, jetskis and pontoon boats may be rented from nearby businesses. It is easy and convenient to get out on the water from our spot at the lake.brbrIt is also important to note that this property is not located in a neighborhood; we are in a private cove with only one neighbor with very little traffic. Whether looking for a romantic retreat, a weekend away from it all or a home base for outdoor adventures, this place is perfect. brbr* Many of our reviews from the past mention that there is no phone/internet service and that WAS the case. However, - we do have both now available and the reception is very good. But - if you prefer for you and your family to unplug - if you don't mention it to them - they may never know it's there!!!!

Serene Mountain Retreat with Stunning Views of the Nantahala Gorge!

Topton, North Carolina, United States

Lost River Lodge is an authentic log cabin intimately nestled amongst twenty six wooded acres, backing up to National Forest Service land, and overlooking one of the Smokey Mountain’s most scenic wonders, the Nantahala Gorge. Newly refurnished, no expense has been spared in attempting to make this the perfect vacation destination to create a lifetime of memories. We truly want you to feel like this Is your “home away from home.” Whether you are looking for a romantic get away with that special someone in your life, a family looking for a place to create a lifetime of lasting memories, an avid outdoorsman, a fly fisherman, or just looking for some peace and quiet, Lost River Lodge has it all. Located just minutes away from the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC), which boasts of zip lining, white water rafting, and kayaking, it is also just minutes away from what has been voted one of the finest fly fishing rivers in the United States. While being in very close proximity to the Bartram Trail, which passes along the ridge above Lost River Lodge, for hiking, and Lake Nantahala which offers boat rentals, fishing, water skiing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, Lost River Lodge is very conveniently located just 12 miles from the quaint town of Andrews, 21 miles from Murphy, and 23 miles from Bryson City, for easy access to all of the areas major attractions. It is a 1 1/2 hour drive from Asheville Regional Airport, in Asheville, and a 2 1/2 hour drive from Hartsfield - Jackson, Atlanta International Airport, in Atlanta. (Our personal suggestion, based on experience, would be to fly into Asheville, which is a small regional airport located just off of Interstate 40, and a much more pleasant drive.) While Lost River Lodge is very accessible, a gravel road leads to the cabin. The road was completely reconstructed, and reconfigured in January, 2023. If you are renting a vehicle, an SUV, or minivan would be suggested. Four wheel drive, or all wheel drive, would be suggested, but not necessarily required. Sports cars or cars with low ground clearance may find access challenging. The main roads in the area are paved, however, most, if not all of the cabins in the area, are on private, single lane, gravel roads. There are numerous scenic mountain bike trails to be enjoyed in the area and if you are up for a beautiful, yet challenging drive, on either two, or four wheels, take a run through the “Tail of the Dragon”, which is just a short drive away, as is the Appalachian Trail. Lost River Lodge offers a very convenient location, as well as, the serenity and seclusion that can only be afforded by being located on twelve wooded acres. As you enter the acreage surrounding Lost River Lodge, you will be greeted by a babbling brook, which we have named, the “Lost River”, as it appears, and disappears, under ground, depending on the time of the year of your visit. Lost River Lodge has two bedrooms each with new queen size beds, a loft with a queen size flex steel sleeper sofa, and a twin size roll away bed. It sleeps up to eight people, four adults and four children, or seven adults comfortably. Luxurious sheets and bedding make sleeping a dream after a hard day, of having fun, and enjoying all that the area has to offer. There is a cozy gas fire place for those chilly nights, when you just want to snuggle around a warm fire, with that special someone in your life. The great room, bed rooms, and loft all have flat screen televisions, Direct T.V., and there is satellite internet access available throughout cabin. Cell phone reception is excellent with even the most temperamental carriers providing service on the lower deck. If your group consists of more than eight people, we have a strategic alliance with another vacation rental property within walking distance of the Lost River Lodge that can accommodate up to seven additional guests. When you are not inside the cabin, enjoying the decor and the rustic log cabin experience, you will want to sit outside on one of the two main decks enjoying the “million-dollar view” overlooking the Nantahala gorge. While enjoying the deck, view, and music of the waterfalls, located on the property, toast a marshmallow or two over the beautifully crafted stone fire pit, or relax with a glass of wine in the four-person hot tub located conveniently on the deck outside of the downstairs bedroom. Please note that there are three security cameras located around the outside perimeter of the cabin covering the parking area, front door, and rear doors. These will be deactivated at check in.
