And, if you have a well-behaved and clean four-legged friend (or two) who you’d really like to enjoy your vacation with, we’ll allow them, too! Emerald Isle is dog friendly; they’re even allowed on the beach year-round and at nearly all outdoor restaurants! If we approve your dog(s) to stay, our pet fee is $35/night for the first dog and $15/night for a second (the second pet fee will be invoiced separately from your initial VRBO booking). This is much less expensive and much more fun than boarding your best friends! brbrOur well maintained and loved cottage rests on a one-lane, tree-lined street that dead ends at a court overlooking the beautiful Bogue Sound. The Sound is also partly visible from the cottage's front yard and living room. The cottage's driveway is right off the court and has ample private parking. brbrBeach fans will love how convenient the sand and warm ocean waters are from Angels Landing. Two different beach access points are a short walk. The beach is such a short distance that it won’t be a problem to dash home for lunch, supplies, and naps, or to head back to the beach in the evening to witness sunsets that will take your breath away (see our pictures for an example). Our south-facing beach has amazing sunsets and boasts warm waters during an extended May through October/November swim season. We provide beach chairs, a beach cart, a Shabumi beach shade, boogie boards, a skim board, and some other beach toys and games to enjoy (like Can Jam, a Frisbee, bocce ball, etc.). And, you'll always have plenty of space to spread out on the beach even during the busiest summer days because there is not public parking where our home's access points are!brbrWhen you come home from the beach, you'll enjoy the large outdoor shower that has hot water and views of the Live Oak trees and canal. The separate, large changing area makes for added convenience. brbrOur home features a huge, 20x25 foot deck that includes a 6-person hot tub! An outdoor dining table is the perfect place for enjoying meals outside, and the soft lighting that we provide creates a great space for continuing the conversation and fun outside after the sun sets. The deck overlooks a back yard that is full of mature, Live Oak trees, and a canal with a private dock. The deck is completely private -- your neighbors and you won't be looking at each other! The view from the deck also is spectacular on clear nights. The lack of light pollution at this part of the island makes for a spectacular night sky. brbrThe canal out back leads out to the Bogue Sound and is extremely peaceful. Our private dock has Adirondack chairs in the shade - perfect for reading a book or simply having a drink while you watch and listen to the birds go about their day. Launch our two kayaks or an adult-sized paddle board (life vests also provided) from the dock or from a water's edge spot that's also on our property.
