The second room sleeps two with a double bed and a 3/4 bathroom located directly across from the room. Sleeper sofa can accommodate up to two additional people. The fully equipped kitchen was designed for those who love to cook and entertain. With beautiful granite counter tops, gas stove, stainless steel appliances and a dining counter with stools for breakfast or snacks. The dining area is furnished with a table and chairs situated so that you can view the creek and nature as you eat. There is a piano for your playing pleasure -- bring your sheet music! The living area is furnished with a leather sleeper sofa and chair, stone coffee and end tables, smart television with internet connection for easy access to Netflix and other streaming television viewing. There are authentic oriental carpts, local original artwork, and 35 feet of windows looking over the Taughannock Creek to cook, eat and relax in front of. brbrThe house is air conditioned with Mitsubishi wall units.br brOutside, the house is surrounded by 14 acres of wooded land with the Taughannock Creek running past the house providing year-round beauty and the sound of running water. Sleeps 6. brbrWinter guests: Cabin 2 is available for rental year-round, but guests using the property in snowy/icy weather need 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles to come down our 1/2 mile private road. It's kept plowed, but these vehicles are needed for the elevation change. brbrCovered porch with picnic table, additional seating, and fire pit. 1 reserved parking space. (More available by request and availability.)brbrEveryone staying at the property can enjoy our private beach, WiFi, and DirecTV. ENJOY PEACEFULNESS lounging inside or sprawl out on the deck, which offers a great view of the farm's orchards, gardens, sheep, and chickens, and incredible sunsets. The deck is also convenient for activities like grilling, reading, yoga, or enjoying local wine, among other things. The deck is accessed by climbing 3 stairs.brbrInside, there is a very comfortable, all-natural QUEEN BED mattress in the loft with a window to the sky. As pictured, the loft is accessed by climbing a ladder. The loft is not suitable for children - there is no railing. On the main floor, there is a convertible QUEEN FUTON. We are happy to make this bed for guests who prefer not to climb the ladder; however, please consider if this is the best rental for you if that's the case.brbrThere's a FULL BATHROOM, a full KITCHEN, and a WALK-IN CLOSET. Organic LINENS, one set of TOWELS and PILLOWS ARE PROVIDED for all guests.brbrThe KITCHEN has a small oven, stove, full-size fridge and freezer, toaster oven, pots, pans, dishes, cups, oil, vinegar, basic spices, a French press (with instructions), and organic coffee and sugar ready for your use. Aligned with our farm's mission, and to avoid adding unnecessary waste to the waste stream, we provide ample dish towels and a Brita filter. THERE IS NO A/C, as such; if it is humid outside, it's humid inside. Luckily, summers in the Finger Lakes tend to be mild, and nights usually cool down. brbrThe yurt is a special retreat in nature and nestled in the woods at Wellspring Forest Farm. This small diversified operation produces mushrooms, maple syrup, elderberry extract, and grazing sheep and chickens. There are electric fences around farm animals.brbrThere is .6 mile marked Trail just behind the yurt you are welcome to walk at your leisure. We maintain and mow this trail regularly, although in very wet seasons, maintenance may not be possible. For the privacy of our neighbors, we ask that you do not walk elsewhere on the farm unless arranging a tour. brbrWe are located just 12 miles from ITHACA, 12 miles from WATKINS GLEN, and 8 miles TRUMANSBURG, NY, a perfect jumping-off point for the wine, beer or cheese trails, waterfall hikes, restaurant outings, graduation weekend events, the Ithaca Farmers Market and more! Cell phone service can be spotty depending on your provider. Our cottage has a master bedroom (queen bed), small bunk room (twin bunk beds), alcove futon (queen bed). It sleeps 6 comfortably, with two private bedrooms, an enclosed porch with a futon and 1.5 bathrooms. The cottage is an open architecture design with multiple windows providing excellent views to the water and the monitoring of small children along the beach. Located approximately 1.5 miles north of Taughannock State Park and 11 miles north of Ithaca on the west shore of Cayuga Lake, the cottage is a short drive to Cornell University and Ithaca College, the Finger Lakes Wine Trail and a wide range of outdoor activities. brThe cottage is at beach level and is accessible by stairs from a parking area that will accommodate 3 cars. New stairs were installed in 2020, however, the stairs may make the cottage inaccessible for individuals with mobile disabilities and may also be difficult for the elderly.
