Secluded Yurt, Retreat on a Forest Farm

Unique and secluded/quiet, but very comfortable and well-appointed. We enjoyed the yurt, fire pit, walking trail, and visits from the friendly dog. Already plotting a return.

Forest farming is a beautiful concept that you have to see to understand. I highly recommend this immersive experience. Beautiful and nourishment for the soul.

Clean, quaint, unique and close to many key areas in the finger lakes. We really enjoyed our time in the yurt. It was really special when it rained, the sound on the yurt was relaxing.

It was a nice property and place, and I liked the surrounding area. However, it seems my request of having a loaf bed was ignored somehow. I was a bit disappointed as the owner didn’t make the effort to make me feel I was deserving the right treatment by responding to my request. No extra blanket at night either, and the loft bed was not ready as I expected.

Loved the feel of remotness while being so close to Ithaca. The yurt was such a cool place to stay! Hard to get my daughter to leave, she wanted to move in!

The yurt would probably be fine for young, adventurous travelers. For us oldsters, the mattress was close to inaccessible due to its location and the steep steps to the loft. We also were disappointed to never had made contact with our host. That’s one of the things we like about staying in privately owned homes, but this time we were on our own.

Absolutely unique setting in quiet off beaten path but so close to all the great offerings in Ithaca- would definitely stay again.

It was private, secluded, and super cool in it's uniqueness! We can't think of anything that would have enriched or improved our stay at the yurt.

This property was exactly as advertised and exactly what I was looking for. Very quiet, very peaceful, and it had all the amenities I needed. Liza was very responsive to my questions, and the loft bed was extremely comfortable! Enjoyed my stay and would definitely book this property again.

Lovely stay! It is definitely off the beaten path, but is beautifully maintained and comfortable.

We were there for a half marathon in Montour Falls. We enjoyed hiking at Watkins Glen State Park as well as walking and eating in town. We both love nature and forest. The yurt was delightful and felt like cabins we stayed in as children. Thank You for a peaceful stay.

Quiet place to unwind and relax

Our stay was absolutely amazing. This was our second trip to the yurt for our anniversary weekend and we couldn’t have loved it more. We had everything we needed and the yurt was very clean and accommodating. We cooked all our meals there and enjoyed a lovely hike on the property. We only left once to go into town for some pizza and wine. It’s was a bit chilly so the wood stove was just what we needed to warm us up. The farm was lovely and very quiet, just what we needed to unplug. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us. We will definitely be back.

It was a neat rustic experience. Right in the woods! Water pressure was a little low, but we still give it a 5 out of 5 for a place to escape!

Wonderful, secluded property perfectly located between Watkins Glen and Ithaca.

The property is adorable, the sheep are fun to observe, the yurt is clean and has everything you need for a low-key stay. There may not be AC, but they have fans placed strategically throughout the yurt that keep the place cool and airy. I cannot recommend this stay enough! (Honorary 6th star for the Welcome Committee)

We enjoyed our stay in the yurt. It had everything we needed. The location was great...secluded yet close enough to Watkins Glen and other falls/hiking areas.

It was a magical experience. Amazing setting! Such a cozy spot to relax and unwind! Provided great amenities such as coffee and tea for guests! Def woyld go back! Highly recommend for a magical experience!

Beautiful area and quiet. Kids loved it. The yurt had all the amenities we needed. The fresh ground coffee in the French press was good. All the instructions and information provided on site left us without any questions and helped make the stay enjoyable. Wi-Fi was great and super-helpful. Good location to go adventuring.

Amazing place. Magical. Knifes in the kitchen are sharp like no other place to stay I’ve ever been to. Friendly dog. Clean. Lots of birds. The yurt is an amazing structure. Whoever built it has my compliments.

A quick one night stay while passing through the finger lakes. Nice quiet getaway where we could unwind and enjoy a campfire and relax.

Every year we take or granddaughter away for her birthday gift! We loved the Yurt, she loved the animals and being in the woods! The size was just right for us. We felt t like we were in a fairy tale house!!! Very quaint!! Plus having electricity, WiFi and beds was extremely helpful!!

Me & my girlfriend absolutely adored the location of this place. We did are greatest to keep it tidy & had no problem getting there too. Highly recommend.

This place is just as advertised. Quite place to relax and just be in nature. Its perfectly loacated halfway between Ithica and Watkins Glen. Close to all the waterfalls vineyards and not far from some great museums. The only downside is after hiking all day is climbing the ladder to get the comfy bed. I would love to stay here again!

We are at the age where the ladder to the loft was not the easiest, but this is a fun place to stay. Everything went smoothly and it's nothing but nature out there.

My girls are growing up fast, so we decided a NY road trip was in order to see sights and spend time together. Had an excellent time at Wellspring Forest Farm (WFF) yurt for our vacay home base while at the Finger Lakes. When we arrived at the farm, it was later in the evening, but had time to briefly meet Liza and their pup—thank you for your help settling us in! We made an amazing meal on the grill, enjoyed it on the porch, and played cards inside before winding down. While visiting, I loved reading the guest book to find recommendations for food or places to visit. On our final day, got to walk the trail at the property. Wish we had requested a farm tour, but otherwise, loving the yurt life !

Frogs and birds and flowers were all beautiful. Yurt was a comfortable size for our family of 3 and it felt private and peaceful even on a working farm

The property owner was willing to work with us to make things better for us. She gave us the option to stay at their straw and clay cottage which was great.

Place was a perfect spot to just get away, have a cup of tea and read. Just the necessities but that’s exactly what we wanted. Loved hearing the birds in the morning. If you want to enjoy some peace and quiet it’s a great place.

The yurt was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the wood burning stove almost every night, played lots of puzzles and games, and enjoyed sightseeing in the area. We would have enjoyed getting to know the sheep and chickens a little (we were visited regularly by two handsome black kitties), but alas we couldn't find a time. Next time!

Loved staying in the yurt! What a neat getaway… we enjoyed sleeping in the loft bed and the quietness and beauty all around us. Great communication with the host and great amenities!

Property was exactly as described and had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. Perfect location to hit all the waterfalls, hiking trails, state parks, breweries, wineries, etc. The hosts provide a ton of local knowledge via an FYI binder and tourism brochures. Super quiet setting, with 4-legged welcome wagon in the pens along the driveway. I recommend for a unique stay!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the yurt. Thanks for sharing it with us it brought back happy memories from when we were young hippies living out in Nederland , Colorado. Forgot to mention the whole area up by the yurt is absolutely gorgeous.

Perfect place to stay! Visited 28 waterfalls between Watkins Glen and Ithaca. Yurt is perfectly located and a treasure in and of itself!

Overall stay was great. Instructions were inside were very helpful and it’s in a great location in winery region. Only complaint was furniture and sheets smelled a little musty but that could have been from the rain. Great place to stay if you want to try glamping!

Cute place

We loved the uniqueness of this property and surrounding grounds. The yurt itself was very nice and had a great deck to sit on and watch the stars at night. We walked the nature trail prior to leaving, which was very relaxing. The location was great too, not too far from town either. Overall, a great place to stay.

Such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere

Beautiful and quiet property. We enjoyed staying in this yurt while bringing our oldest to college and enjoying the surrounding area with our other 2 children. Yurt had everything we needed to make meals and spend relaxing time together.

If looking for a great camping experience, this Wellspring Yurt will not disappoint! The yurt was clean and provided so much to make a camping trip so very easy! The owner was so great with communication!
