Your dog will be exhausted from watching and listening to the 100s of chipmunks! S/he will need a vacation after her/his vacation.brThe ground/1st/driveway level is a safe space to leave your dog if you are going out and don't want to crate him. It is an all-TILE space, approximately 11' x 25'. You can keep him safe and happy while you are gone. No need to crate doggie nor the hassle of bringing the bulky crate! This room is also perfect for bringing in your non-motorized sports gear to keep out of the weather: bicycles, kayaks, fishing gear, ski boots and skis, luge sleds, on and on.brbrThere are microwave, toaster, dishwasher, oven, coffee maker...brbrThere are plenty of pots and pans, a coffee maker and filters (and some coffee in case you forgot!) full-size fridge, and eating space for 16 (12 at the HUGE farmhouse table and four on stools (with backs) at the kitchen counter.brThere is a new propane grill and grilling tools.brThe 'spice' cabinet has things such as: peppercorn grinder, sea salt grinder, basil, dill, sugar, and more.brbrOne of our FAVORITE features of Goslings' Nest is the HUGE floor to ceiling river rock fireplace, with a hearth deep enough to sit on while you enjoy some tea or chat with friends.brTHERE IS A GLASS FRONT WOOD BURNING STOVE! We finished some improvements on the fireplace and installed a wood burning stove to get the house TOASTY.brbrThis is the perfect space to disconnect, slow down and enjoy the forest with friends and family. However, the high speed Wifi and Roku t.v. also provide you with all you need to work from 'home'.brThere is so much or so little to do in the area. We provide books and games. There are hundreds of hiking possibilities in the area, you can visit the Olympic sites, the Au Sable Chasm, the Wolf Sanctuary and on and on. PLEASE don't hesitate to ASK us if you are looking for anything in particular or something out of the ordinary to do. We so LOVE all the the adventures that are available.brbrThe upstairs full bathroom has been renovated, and the main floor bathroom is also clean and lovely with the bright, knotty pine (hewn from the local forest) that is throughout the entire house. There are a full size washer and dryer in case you are an athlete, for instance, and come home cruddy. Ha! We welcome you to our Cozy Cabin in the Adirondacks, located in the pine forests of Jay, New York, in the Heart of the High Peaks. You will be close to Whiteface Mtn, Lake Placid, AuSable Chasm, fishing on the Ausable River, Lake Champlain and only 90 miles from Montreal. The Cabin has been totally remodeled recently, and we think you will enjoy the newly tiled bathrooms, renovated kitchen, and cozy living room area with high-speed WiFi, cable TV, a Bluetooth speaker and even a computer station with a printer if you don't want to bring your own. brbrThe Cabin is in the neighborhood of Ausable Acres, a unique community where every house is on at least an acre of land, and we share some common amenities: Lake Eaton, a small lake with a nature trail around it, a play ground, tennis courts and a picnic pavilion. There is also a trail system for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking or trail running – we have maps available. And for the fishermen, there are 2 private access points to the West Fork of the Ausable River.brbrWe are also within 3 miles of Ausable Forks, a village which has a grocery store, bank, convenience store, gas station, bar, restaurants (pizza at one), movie theater, and liquor store.brbrThe Cabin features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The Cabin is heated with electric baseboard in each room, and a propane stove in the living room as a backup - or for ambiance. There is a 55” flat screen television. We also have a computer and printer available for your use.brThe Cabin features a large deck, which has a gas grill, table and benches, and 2 Adirondack chairs (in the summer season only). br-The entrance to the house is from the deck into an entryway with a ski-rack for your skies and poles, and a bench to change from your wet outside shoes and boots to shoes that can be worn indoors. br-The first floor bedroom features a queen bed, large closet, 2 dressers and a full bathroom with a bathtub. br-The living room has a comfortable overstuffed couch and loveseat along with the 55” flat-screen TV and DVD player. br-The dining area has a table and chairs for 6 people. br-The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, blender, coffee maker, kettle and crock pot. br-The second floor bedroom has a king size bed, large closet, dresser, and a full bathroom with a shower. br-The second floor bedroom also has a futon, which converts to a bed for 2 more people. br-The basement has a washer and dryer available for you to use while you are here.brbrYou will have full access to the Cabin, we ask that you respect our belongings stored in the basement and upstairs storage areas. If we are not available to meet you at check-in, we will give you the instructions on how to get in the Cabin, and we can be reached by telephone or email. The neighborhood is called Ausable Acres where each home is separated from its neighbors by trees thereby offering considerable privacy. The Acres has a lake, miles of trails for hiking or cross-country skiing and a picnic pavilion area. For fisherpersons, there is access to the Ausable river less than two miles away. Within three miles is a Top’s Supermarket, Stewart’s Gas and Convenience store, movie theatre, pizzeria and liquor store.brThe interior of the cabin is constructed with tongue and groove knotty pine throughout. The bedroom has a new queen size log bed. The bathroom is newly remodeled. There is a sitting area with a wood stove, kitchen, dining area, a desk with ample room for writing in your journal or laptop and an area with comfy chairs for just relaxing. The home has a three-zone electric heating system, so a wood fire is optional. There are two USB charging stations and high-speed internet. The kitchen has an electric cooktop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, dishes and lots of cookware that allow our guests to prepare a home cooked meal or breakfast. In warmer months enjoy relaxing on the front porch or cooking on the gas grill in the side yard which also has a picnic table. brOur cabin is designed for one or two guests. Absolutely no pets are allowed. The loft is not accessible. Please note that neighborhood has a 10pm quiet rule.br
