There is a public walking path that goes down the bluff from the end of Nipissing Street to Frankfort Beach and Lake Michigan. (The path is somewhat steep and rugged and does not have much in the way of handrails. As such, it may be difficult for elderly individuals or young children.) The Frankfort Pier and the famous Frankfort Lighthouse are also just a short walk south along the beach from the house. brbrThe home is just a few blocks from charming downtown Frankfort. Downtown Frankfort has a growing array of shops, restaurants, cafes, a microbrewery (Stormcloud), and a vintage movie theatre (The Garden Theater). All of this is just a short walk from the house!brbrThe home is also conveniently located close to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Crystal Lake. These provide for a wide mix of hiking, exploring, kayaking, tubing, fishing, and paddleboarding activities in the midst of a truly gorgeous natural environment. The home is also only 18.2 miles (about a 25-minute drive) from Crystal Mountain Resort for skiing, snowboarding, and winter sports.brbrAlso, if larger-city things are desired such as lots of restaurants, great shopping, and lots of entertainment and nightlife options, the home is only an approx. 1-hour drive from downtown Traverse City, which has a wonderful collection of dining, shopping, and entertainment options.brbrbrGUEST ACCESS:brbrGuests have access to the entire home except for an owners' closet which is locked off.brbrbrTHE SPACE:brbrThe home has beautiful views of Lake Michigan throughout the home! In terms of the live-streaming television, the home includes use of a high-end Hulu live-streaming package (with 150+ channels), Pure Flix, Netflix, and Disney+.brbrOutside, the home has a large outdoor deck overlooking Frankfort Beach and Lake Michigan. The deck has outdoor dining furniture, additional seating, and a gas grill. brbrbrTRANSIT:brbrThere is public transit in the area via the Benzie Bus, but it is recommended that guests have their own means of transportation. Neither Lyft nor Uber operate in the area.brbrbrPLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:brbr1) THREE-LEVEL HOME: The home has 3 levels. Entry is on the lower level and it is necessary to climb a flight of stairs to enter the main level on which the living room, dining room, and kitchen are all located. As such, the home may be difficult for elderly individuals or young children.brbr2) PATH TO BEACH: There is a public walking path down the bluff from the end of Nipissing Street down to Frankfort Beach and Lake Michigan. The path is somewhat steep and rugged and does not have much in the way of handrails. As such, it may be difficult for elderly individuals or young children.brbr3) HALF-BATH: As shown in the photos, the half-bath on the lower level consists of just a small bathroom with a toilet. Our home is located just minutes from several beaches, dune hikes and other outdoor adventures! brbrWhen entering our home you are greeted by a cozy little bar and game area. Straight ahead you will see the laundry rooms . (not very exciting). To the left are two bedrooms and the first floor bathroom. One bedroom contains two queen beds and the other has one full sized bed (plus a small walk-out deck).brbr Head upstairs and you walk directly into the kitchen/dining and living rooms. To the left you will find the 3rd bedroom ( two twin beds) and second bathroom. To the right, and exiting the living room is the second floor/tree top deck. A great spot for morning coffee.brbrThe home stays fairly shaded and cool and does not have central air conditioning. brThere is a window ac unit in the upstairs main space and a portable ac one downstairs common room/bar. Ceiling fans are located in every bedroom and the upstairs living room as well. The outdoor space is 3 acres of mostly forested land and features an outdoor play area for the kids, a couple of disc golf cages and a fire pit.brbrFinally, after a long day adventuring, relax with a drink at places like Storm Cloud brewery, St. Ambrose Cellars or any of the other great places in the area. The house sits next to the Coast Guard Station and Harbor Lights Condo's. It does have a direct view of Lake Michigan across the Coast Guard Property, and it does have direct Beach Access located 50 feet away between two condos.
