The property is expansive including 100 feet of beach frontage directly on Pleasant Beach. The cottage is within a private and quiet colony of beach cottages and is an ideal spot to enjoy kayaking, looking for sea glass, or waterfront serenity. Watch the many lobster boats, photograph the colorful buoys, bird watch or look for the occasional seal visitor. This property abuts Pleasant Beach which is located in a sheltered cove of Penobscot Bay with ever-changing tides and minimal surf, making it a favorite (yet cold} place to swim or launch your kayaks. The beach is beautiful consisting of both sand and climbing rocks. It is situated close to the mouth of the Weskeag River...a popular spot for kayakers and fisherman (at low tide, at its mouth). We are within a 30 minute drive of Rockland, Rockport, Camden and Port Clyde. Bar Harbor is a scenic 2-hour drive north. Nearby attractions include the Farnsworth Art Museum, Owls Head Transportation Museum, several lighthouses and a plethora of shops, restaurants and art galleries.brbrThe cottage itself is all on one convenient level and consists of an expansive great room with vaulted ceiling and open views of the beach and Bay. We are on a quiet, dead end road, but only minutes from the best of mid-coast Maine. Great area for biking, birding, kayaking and hiking and exploring. The house is also an excellent spot for remote work, complete with high speed Wifi and desks. For those occasional hot days, we do have AC if you need it.brbrHayden Point is a very clean and comfortable house situated on its own private waterfront with steps and a floating dock (in warm months) for direct access. From our dock, you can paddle down a peaceful river to the Gulf of Maine. Large windows give unobstructed views of the water from most rooms and there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. Hayden Point is a relaxing retreat that makes access easy for anyone with limited mobility. Our large deck overlooks the lawn and water.brbrThe kitchen contains everything you need to cook a gourmet meal, but you also can get some of the best lobster in Maine 5 minutes away, and you are only five miles from downtown Rockland. Camden Hills State Park is a short distance as well. brbrThis spacious craftsman style home built in 2004 has 2.5 baths and sleeps 8 adults in three bedrooms (children are welcome, too!). Everything is on the ground floor except the third bedroom and bath. On the ground floor, a private master suite with water views has a king-size bed and sitting area, a large bathroom with a custom walk in shower, and two vanities (one within the bathroom and one in the hallway to the bath). A second bedroom on the ground floor has a queen-sized bed and small sitting area, and a nearby half bath. Upstairs there is a second full bath off a very large bedroom with a big sitting area, games table and 180 degree spectacular water views. The king-sized bed in this room can be separated into two extra-long twin beds and there also is a queen sleeper sofa. A portable crib is provided as well. The house has a great deal of closet space and drawers for storage. All linens are provided and are 100% cotton. A washer and dryer on the ground level provided as well.brbrThe ground floor has the main living space with an open dining room, which seats 6-8 people, and living room overlooking the lawn and the water beyond. The kitchen is fully-equipped with solid-surface counter tops, cherry cabinetry, an electric oven, gas cook-top, dishwasher, trash-compactor, microwave, double-door refrigerator and dishwasher and a walk-in pantry. The kitchen has a breakfast nook and double French doors leading to the wraparound deck. The deck has a sun shade, table, plenty of seating and two grills.brbrThe living room and den area is outfitted with comfortable and stylish furnishings, flat-screen television, Roku and fire stick for streaming, and high speed Wifi for internet access. In addition to heat pumps for air conditioning, there is a whole-house back-up generator, so no need to worry about power loss. Large windows overlook the deck and the expansive lawn and waterfront. Novels, local guide books and maps are also included.brbrSouth Thomaston is located just five miles from downtown Rockland, 15 miles from Camden/Rockport and five miles from the St. George Peninsula and the villages of Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. Hayden Point is less than 10 minutes from Primo, one of the best restaurants in New England. There is also a boat launch open for public use about one half mile from the Hayden Point House, and beautiful Birch Point state park with a beach about five minutes away. brbrWe have a professional caretaker on call during your stay should any problem arise. Recently constructed private guest room plus (suite) attached to enchanting seaside cottage. This delightful addition has its own separate entrance and includes a large bedroom with Queen size bed, cathedral ceiling and fir flooring from a historic home. Go down the small, pine-paneled hall and you will find a new bathroom with oversized shower and beautiful pine paneling. There is a pantry which houses a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and Keurig coffee maker. There is no cooking stove although an outside gas grill is available for cooking upon request. From the outside you enter the suite through a sliding atrium door off your own 8' x 16' cedar deck that faces south and the spectacular view afforded by the Mussel Ridge Channel, Pleasant Beach and numerous islands. This location is visually stunning. Sit on the deck and watch the lobster boats, colorful buoys, birds or occasional rainbow and smell the salt air. If you're lucky enough to be there during a full moon...you'll remember it always. For those wanting to kayak you can launch your kayak directly from our front yard which abuts Pleasant Beach in a sheltered cove of Penobscot Bay. Walking and climbing the boulders strewn along the shoreline are popular pastimes for those who visit this area along with wonderful birding and photographic opportunities. We are situated 100 feet from the bay and 100 yards from the mouth of the Weskeag River, which is a popular attraction for both kayakers and fishermen alike. Quiet Ocean Front Cottage With Stunning Views & Private Beach Close To Rockland

This well kept, bright and renovated little cottage is nestled 30 feet from a private cove & beach on the Atlantic ocean. It is quiet and perfect for relaxing, strolling the beach and rocks, launching your kayaks and enjoying a firepit on the oceans edge.. A 10 minute walk to the other side of the island brings you to McLoons Lobster Shack, a Maine foodie destination. br brHeaven Scent has 2 floors of living area. The upstairs is a large, open room with 2 twin beds, a queen bed, 2 dressers and a chair near the windows overlooking the beach. The ceiling over the beds is just over 6' so taller people will have to stoop. The staircase is a little steep so if you are over 6’ you will have to watch your head. Bed linens and towels for 4 included as well as plenty of blankets. We provide toilet paper (2 rolls) and paper towels(2 rolls) but depending on use you may need to bring extra. The first floor hosts the bathroom, galley kitchen, dining and living area as well as an easy to use propane heater to take the chill out of the shoulder seasons. We have an electric clothes dryer for your convenience. br There is also a 'game (chess, checkers, etc.) table' with 2 chairs as well as a breakfast bar with 2 stools. The first floor has decks both front and back with a slider opening to the deck facing Lobster Cove and the Atlantic ocean. There is a firepit just beyond the deck that faces the ocean. Lobster cove is a sandy/rocky beach perfect for building sandcastles, searching for treasures or just sitting in your chair watching the sunrise, waves, boats and birds go by. The cottage has a gas grill and a Weber charcoal grill as well as all the pots, pans and dishes needed for most cooking you plan to do during your stay. Coffee maker, microwave, toaster, electric stove/oven, wine glasses, coffee mugs, etc. There are books for all ages as well as several decks of cards and a few of our favorite board games. brThe dining room table has 2 benches and seats 6 people as well as a bar at the kitchen with 2 stools. There are 2 Adirondack chairs and a small table with two additional chairs on the deck facing the ocean. A fire pit lies between the deck and the shore. 4 portable chairs are also available in the shed and are great for sitting on the beach in front or taking with you to your favorite picnic spot. The cottage has a grass front lawn between the parking area and the cottage. The beach is perfect for launching your kayaks or taking a swim. There is a Maine lobster shack within 10 minute walk of the cottage (McCloons. If you prefer to cook them yourselves, Jess's Market is just 10 minutes away and sells lobster as well as a wide array of the freshest fish and seafood available. If your prefer a restaurant, there are dozens in nearby Rockland and its vicinity. There is parking for 2 cars and plenty of grass to play games. There is also a clothes line if you prefer to use over the dryer. br We do not have a phone or TV but we have excellent Wi-Fi. If you need to do laundry, the Park St Laundry in Rockland will wash, dry and fold your clothes, just drop them off on your way into town. One month from your stay we will send you a welcome book with many more details on what the cottage has as well as information about the surrounding area, restaurants, kayak rentals, etc.

2026 Rental Calendar is Now Available:brbrCompleted in 2019, Seal Cottage sits nestled amongst the trees with unparalleled waterfront views of Seal Harbor from every room. The cottage is located on Spruce Head Island, accessible by a causeway linking it to the mainland and nearby Port Clyde, South Thomaston, Rockland, and Camden. Spruce Head island has a rich quarry history. Until 1910, The Sprucehead Quarry mined and shipped granite for building use across the US. Seal Cottage is located right at Powder House Cove, named for its storage of the powder used to excavate the granite. A few granite relics left behind from the island's quarry days remain on the property. brbrThe cottage was designed to maximize surrounding views while embodying Maine coastal charm. Due to the cottage’s location, 50’ from the cove and framed by spruce trees, one feels perched above the water as though in a tree house. Seal Cottage is quiet and private, making it a lovely retreat for late spring, summer, or fall. Entering the great room, comprised of the kitchen and living room with a cast iron gas stove, you will find all the modern comforts needed for a cozy and relaxing vacation. The large windows in this room face due south, allowing you to catch the sunlight all day and beautiful moonlit skies reflecting on the ocean and harbor in the evening. Beyond the great room lies two bedrooms with ocean views, one with a queen size bed and one with two twin beds. The cottage's bathroom (the only room without an ocean view) has a walk-in shower with pebble tiled floor. We limit guests to 4 people and do not allow pets. If you prefer to be closer to the water’s edge- there’s also a lovely stone patio complete with a picnic table, grill, and Adirondack chairs. Either way you’ll enjoy watching the lobster boats turn with the tides, listening to the gentle waves, and taking in the salty sea breeze. The sandy beach and protected harbor allow for great access to the water for kayaking. Whitehead Island is just 1 mile across the harbor or you can stay close and explore the coastline around Spruce Head Island. If you prefer to stay on the land, the sandy beach is a great place to search for sea shells and sea glass or to explore the rocky coastal edge along the large granite formations.brbrAlthough you may find it hard to venture out from our cozy retreat, there is much to do and see nearby! For the most picturesque lobster shack meal, McLoon’s is a must, located within walking distance from Seal Cottage. Birch Point Beach State Park, located 6 miles away, offers breathtaking views of Penobscot Bay from a sandy crescent shaped beach. The perfect location for picnicking, fishing and swimming. Nearby Owls Head State Park and Lighthouse offers a nice walk and Owls Head Transportation Museum is a must see for those who enjoy aviation and antique vehicles. Fifteen minutes away, Rockland is famed for its cultural scene, including Farnsworth Art Museum & Wyeth Center, CMCA (Center for Maine Contemporary Art), The Maine Lighthouse Museum, and The Strand Theater. Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse provides beautiful photo opportunities. There are many fantastic places to dine in Rockland, from fine dining at the award-winning Primo Restaurant, sushi at Suzuki’s Sushi Bar, or In Good Company for fantastic food & drinks, there is something for everyone. A short drive away, Camden known as the Jewel of the Coast, is a quintessential Maine town filled with quaint shops, restaurants, and beautiful scenic views. Camden also offers abundant hiking opportunities, including Mt.
