Come and relax in our Scandinavian inspired post and beam house. You will have the entire house to yourself. The house is ideally located by Route 1 in Hancock between Acadia National Park and Schoodic Peninsula, while only 10 minutes to Ellsworth for shopping and many restaurants. brbrThe spacebrOur newly renovated and spacious 2-bedroom house is ready for your Maine vacation. There are two levels to the house with the two bedrooms located upstairs along with a full bathroom (shower). One bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen and a full-sized bed. Both bedrooms have a 32 Smart Amazon Fire TV and window Air conditioner. The 1st floor also has a full bathroom (shower & separate soaking tub), a full kitchen, a dining area with a spacious dinner table with 6 chairs, and a TV area with a 65” smart Amazon Fire TV (login to your own favorite streaming service or enjoy the included Netflix and Amazon Prime subscription). There is also a small room with an office area if you need to do a little work or check in with friends at home. Enjoy FREE WIFI and high-speed internet during your stay. There is a large backyard where you can relax and play games on the lawn. The separate garage building is not for guest use. Maximum number of guests including children is 5. No pets or smoking allowed.brbrThe areabrLocated close to Acadia National Park (25 minute drive) and Schoodic Peninsula (also, 25 minute drive) where numerous hiking and nature experiences await you. There are many local hikes and nature areas near the rental. A few will be detailed in the guest book when you check in. Ellsworth (10 min drive) is a good place for shopping (LL Bean, Cadillac Mountain Sports, Reny's and lots of downtown boutiques etc.), buying groceries (Hannaford and Shaws) and numerous restaurants. Also, in Ellsworth you will find big box stores such as Walmart and Home Depot. There are a few really great restaurants near the rental including Chipper's Restaurant (3 minute drive), Ironbound Restaurant (5 minute drive), and Ruth & Wimpy’s (1 minute drive). Bar Harbor, with a lot of touristy shops and the base for whale watching tours and nature cruises, is a 25 minute drive from the rental house.

Welcome to Pine and Cove House, a charming 4BR, 2BA getaway in Hancock! This spacious retreat is perfect for an extended family or group of friends looking for a together but separate experience. The newly updated home with unique dual-living setup is split into 2BR/1BA units with separate entrances, kitchen/living/dining rooms, and an interior connection. Enjoy the peaceful one-acre lot with private above ground pool, screen porch, two decks, firepit, cornhole, games and BBQ grill. brbrIn the first unit, there is an entry hall with a closet, desk and board games. The kitchen/dining area has a coffee station with a Keurig coffee maker and a regular coffee maker for your coffee of choice. The dining table seats 8 for group meals. The kitchen is stocked with most everything you will need for your cooking needs including a blender. There are also great restaurants nearby like Ironbound or Chipper's, or you can get your classic lobster rolls down the street at Yu's Takeout - with even more dining options down the road in Ellsworth.brbrThe unit living room has a Smart TV with Spectrum basic cable, and your favorite streaming apps for sign in.brbrThere are two bedrooms in this unit, each with king beds. The bathroom has a walk in shower and a separate tub with whirlpool jets. There is a stackable washer and dryer off of the kitchen/dining area brbrThere is also a desk and monitor for work from home access off of the main bedroom.brbrThe second unit has a living/dining space downstairs with Smart TV. This unit has a smaller kitchen with coffee maker, refrigerator, stove and microwave, and a good amount of cooking supplies including a smoothie maker, and waffle iron.brbrUpstairs in the second unit, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a combined whirlpool tub/shower. The first bedroom has two queen bed, and the second bedroom is set up as a kid's room, with two single beds and a toddler bed.brbrIn the second floor hallway, there is a desk available as a second workspace. The hallway also has a combined washer/dryer.brbrGuests should enjoy the outdoor space of the property. The Maine cornhole set, above ground pool, bbq and giant jenga are set up for your enjoyment. There is also a container of kids games next to the shed for children's play.brbrPlease observe posted pool rules and never leave children unattended in the pool area.brbrThe roads around the property are great for walking and exploring. We enjoyed walking with our dog down to Jellison Cove, a public cove about 15 minutes walking distance down the street. brbrOther things to note:brThe house was originally built in the 1880s and later expanded and modernized in recent years. brbrThe stairs to the second floor are steep, as was typical of 19th century farmhouses. Be careful on the way up to the upstairs. brbrThe second floor bedrooms and bathroom have sloped ceilings so taller guests should take care. brbrThe pool is open seasonally from July until the end of August. Please note that exact dates may vary based on temperatures. brbrAir Conditioning is through the three window units downstairs, and the upstairs bedrooms have portable air conditioners for your use. brbrThere are two separate thermostats in the house, these will only provide heat. The one in the larger kitchen is for the downstairs unit. The one in the second bedroom is for the living/dining area downstairs. There are no heat vents in the upstairs bedrooms, but the house has extra blankets for the cooler Maine summer nights. brbrNote that the garage, basement, attic and outdoor shed spaces are off limits to guests.

It is tranquil and peaceful, a romantic honeymoon get-away, just the place for sunset walks on the private beach. There could be fresh lobster delivered to the door by local fisherman, day trips to Bar Harbor, Machias, Bangor and Belfast, kayak tours from private beach, cable tv, wi-fi internet, a great place for photography, oceanographers and naturalists – see seals, sea birds and eagles. Check in is 3pm Saturday and check out is 10:30 am Saturday. brbr**There is a $100.00 non refundable deposit for the extra cleaning after a pet stay. This deposit is due on arrival and will be returned 3-4 days after departure, to ensure no damage done. Policy is very easy and considerate!
