It is fully equipped with everything our guests need to live at their “home away from home!” Relax in the modern master bathroom complete with a luxurious rain shower! The living room is a “happy place!” It is cheerful, bright and full of natural sunlight that pours in from the large windows in the second floor living room! You will find a Smart TV with Spectrum cable and Hulu where you can stream all of your apps! The bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, a large armoire for clothing, and an additional chest for extra storage. Washer and dryer are located off the kitchen for our guests convenience! We have recently added a desk to the apartment to allow our remote workers to have a great place to work from home! brOur outdoor living area is set up to allow for grilling, outdoor dining, wine or cocktails around our fire pit or just sitting outside relaxing with your favorite book! brOur private back parking lot is large and allows for guests to come and go easily avoiding any street parking!

WELCOME!: Historic, unique, tasteful and serene - the Edward Tyler house, ca. 1783, is a stone cabin 20 minutes SE of Louisville on 13 acre estate. Near the famous bourbon trail, rental includes full cabin and large screen porch overlooking pond with fountain. First floor has living/dining/kitchen space with small sofa bed and stone fireplace (gas); queen bed and full bath on second floor. American and European antique furnishings and fine art welcome you to fully updated home with central HVAC.brbrTHE SPACE: Cabin was originally built in the late 1700s and has been updated to modern standards (electric, plumbing, HVAC) yet retains original features including stone walls, large wooden beams and original yellow poplar floors. Typical of structures of this vintage and to preserve space, the stairway to the second floor is steeper and more narrow than todays standard size; anyone uneasy with non-uniform stairs should take note. Height of doorways are also shorter than today's standards. In total, the cabin is approximately 620 sq. ft., plus another 240 sq. ft. in the attached screened porch (860 sq. ft. in total). Cabin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and sits within the larger Tyler Rural Settlement District, also a National Historic Trust designation.brbrGUEST ACCESS: Guests will have full use of the cabin and attached screened porch (14' x 17'). Additionally, guests have access to the lawn area behind the cabin, and can also enjoy sitting by the pond (no fishing please). Cabin is accessed from brick terrace that adjoins both the cabin and the main house, and leads to a stone walkway to cabin door. Please note the stone in the walkway is natural formation, not uniform cut stone (see photos).brbrTHE PROPERTY: Property is located 15 miles east of downtown Louisville - approximately 20 minute drive via I-64. Area is primarily residential, and most neighbors have acreage (host property is located on 13 acres). Jeffersontown, a historic small town, is approximately 2 miles away with the very popular 3rd Turn Brewery, a dog friendly brewery (indoor and outdoor) in an old converted church.
