A Sleepy Bear's Dream is, as the name suggests, a dream. It's our second cabin and sleeps up to five in two bedrooms and a sleeping loft, which overlooks the great room. A 21-foot tall tree sits in the middle of the great room, supporting the main beams of the building.brbrThe front of the house has a bow-shaped deck extending over the water where fish eagerly await a handout (from your provided fish food). Both bedrooms have private balconies, and huge outdoor living spaces are on each side of the building. The loft has its own balconies, which can be reached through patio doors. Our cabin is now equipped with up to 300Mbps fiber internet.brbrThe ground floor contains a large recreational area featuring a hot tub and pool table. There's also a private dock with an electric trolling boat available for rent.brbrBesides the cabin, the property has many features that you'll get to enjoy while staying here. From the caves, overhangs, and cliffs to the beautiful trees and waterfalls, it's hard to imagine ever being bored at our cabin rental. We promise you will want to return. A boat or canoe can be rented in season (April–October) for an additional fee, pending availability.

The other two bedrooms are located on the first floor along with the kitchen, living room and the other bathroom with shower. The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you'll need to cook a dinner for all your friends. All linens are included so you won't have to worry about packing sheets and towels. The front porch is great to hang out on and enjoy a cold one and grill up dinner on the gas grill after a long day of playing outside There is also a private pond on the 17 acre property that is just a short hike from the house that you are welcome to fish in during your stay. Just be sure to put the fish back. brbrPLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BOOK!! NO PETS ALLOWED. Please don't ask because the answer is no. I have renters who specifically rent my house because of the no pets policy. If you do bring a pet you will be charged a $250 cleaning fee. The same $250 fee applies for smoking(anything) in the house. There's a great private patio out back as well as a covered front porch. There is a video doorbell on the front porch for security when the house isn't occupied. It faces the road and only catches folks(and wildlife) walking up the walkway.

If you are using many applications (showering, dishes, flushing etc) you will notice a drop in water pressure. There is nothing we can do about this and recommend limiting water use to one or two uses at a time! The pump is fairly silent, we rarely, if ever, notice it. brbr-This area is not highly developed and the Red River Gorge is considered a temperate rain forest. This being said, bugs are a normal part of the ecosystem here. You might find a stray lady beetle or stink bug here and there but we do preventatively spray and hope to keep bugs away from the house and getting inside! You will likely see paper wasps outside. They're not aggressive and there is nothing we can do in terms of prevention.
